I’ve had that a lot with houseboats & it really upsets me for some strange reason. I know I can derender but I seem to take it personally. Maybe because it reminds me of some bad mainland experiences, maybe it’s because I was so excited to see how much effort LL have put into the new areas & wish others would do the same. It’s why I’ve played GOH. Unfortunately everyone’s taste is different, so is the amount of effort some people will put into decorating. The pics I see on the forums don’t help. Some of you are the most awesome decorators & I expect everyone to be like that 😁. In the end though, if it’s not making you happy, if it’s causing frustration then sometimes it is better to walk away for awhile. Oh, I hate the squatters too. It’s lazy!

I’ll guess a 512 home, treehouse/fantasy theme.

I’m in the U.K. but my family is in Australia so I’m often up at the same time as them to chat. I’ve seen a lot of great houses released in that time including the best houseboat I’ve ever seen. Unfortunately it’s a matter of luck & perseverance. There are times when I’ve seen nothing new on the land page for ages, other times every refresh brings new choices. Don’t discount abandons either. My current house was an abandoned, right on the beachfront & abandons are happening around the clock.

No need to feel any guilt. That’s why we play the game - the thrill of the chase. We’ve all got houses that others have been trying for.

Whoever got the Ashton Village one from earlier released it & my alt got it. Happy dance!!

On the topic of people not knowing, most people I talk to either don’t know about the new homes or they do, but remember the old homes & think it’s just a repeat of that. I constantly hear there’s not enough LI, even when I explain it’s exactly the same as Mainland. They also think that the house itself comes out of your LI. I don’t know What LL could do to get people like this engaged. I tried the campers & like has been previously mentioned it wasn’t the LI that turned me off them. It was the designs offered. I’d be happy to look at other styles though. An example is those popular beach huts on some private regions. They have only 75 LI available so having something similar on a 512 plot would be epic. Sea views for everyone! 😁

Just seen a log home on the land page so some things are still popping up. That damn unobtainable Vic is still there.

I picked up a lovely Victorian in Beauregard earlier, pond on one side & park on the other 3 sides. That was after giving up a riverside at Dos Hermanos. The GOH is certainly still fun 😀

I don’t know if it’s relevant but another thread mentions that some old housing regions have disappeared so maybe the home selection was turned off for a short time while this was being done.

I was on there an hour ago & there were old homes available. No Bellisseria though.

There are new log homes now being dropped on the undeveloped areas. A really cute one is SSPE1200. The houses look like they are in a crater with a lake in the middle.

I’m at SSPE1174 & am hoping like crazy the line will be in that area as well. Been sitting on my house for ages (ok, a couple of weeks) waiting to see what happens. Exciting Times!

I flew the railbeds tonight & it’s going to be fun when it’s finished. I’m hoping for a west line too. There are going to be a few disappointed people though, when they log in & see new homes are about to block their lake views. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that a) I get the train line at my backyard & b) I don’t suddenly find a house there instead.

I hope there’s not too much building in the interior regions as we still need the railway put in & it would be a shame to crowd out the lakeside.

I had this house once & got it again on my alt, not realising it had been released. I was standing in it about to abandon when a couple walked up & started talking to me. They had been after a Vic for awhile but weren’t seeing any on the land page. They thought the house was lovely & wanted to ask me how they could get one like it. Well, two minutes later I had a very excited couple as I talked them through the abandon/capture process & they got the house. It made my day seeing how happy they were. I left feeling all warm & fuzzy

The ‘what is in theme’ question is a really difficult one. Beth’s comment reminded me of a camper that I saw full of breedable cats. My first thought was really? That’s keeping in the camper theme? Then I stopped & thought there probably are people out there whose camper IS full of cats so who am I to judge. I’ve never lived in a camper, houseboat or a log cabin before in RL so I’m just guessing myself on what’s appropriate.
