  1. I'm sorry...I was distracted by your ENORMOUS B00BS!!!! Were you saying something???
  2. Just finished watching Life 2.0 and all I can say is....HOLY CRAP! If my wife watched that show, she would NEVER, EVER let me back in SL again. So depressing.... SPOILERS: 1) Guy goes on SL as a teenage girl (not for the slex, he says) and winds up deleting his account because he can't seperate SL and RL and then loses his fiance..... 2) Couple meet in SL and decide to take it to RL...they both divorce their current partners, he figures out that he can't live with herm and winds up moving to INDIA!! INDIA...not across the country or even to Europe...INDIA!! WOW!! 3) Lady spends her entire time on SL making clothes that get stolen. She sues and makes $520 for her troubles. Due to the normal SL economy, she nearly goes out of business. UGH!! I do wonder if all these people are still in SL. And yes, I also know that a lot has changed since this was done (in 2009, I think) and that not every story in SL ends in tragedy or defeat...but DAMN!! :matte-motes-sunglasses-3:
  3. Old news....and there's no updates either.... http://status.secondlifegrid.net/2013/12/12/post2134/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+SecondLifeGridStatus+%28Second+Life+Grid+Status+Updates%29
  4. I try to keep the enjoyment in SL by continuing to expand and find new things to do. I've been here since 2008 and through my avatars, I've done a number of different things...even if that's just to meet new people and share some of their interests. My latest has been to develop a (much larger than I thought) family...daughters, nieces and a sister plus a couple Grandkids...:matte-motes-sunglasses-3:. It gives me different people to talk to, to find out how they're doing and does give me another reason to come inworld. I spend a good majority of my time sitting in my house, IMing with friends and watching the mermaids in my aquarium, though. I still have a few rps going on with my slaves and other AVs that I play. They each have their own personality (maybe something I should talk to my shrink about :matte-motes-sunglasses-3:) and friends and things to do, some of which are independent to Tex. I haven't found that certain niche...it changes. Like a roller coaster, the enjoyment of SL goes up and down. Sometimes, it's my own doing and sometimes SL itself gets me frustrated (the feed not working, crashes in FS) and it's no fun to log in anymore. I've taken breaks, like lots of people, but I always tend to come back at least for a little while. I don't incorporate much from SL into RL. My two slaves are FB friends of mine and that's about it. I don't go out and randomly meet new people to join my family....don't think my wife would be too pleased about that....:matte-motes-sunglasses-3: Hope that helps a bit.....
  5. Always like to add the verse at the end where Daddy B**tf***s Santa Claus....:matte-motes-sunglasses-3:
  6. Howdy there... Wanted to pass on that SL has finally mentioned something about not being able to post pictures to the feed. Hopefully, it'll get fixed soon. http://status.secondlifegrid.net/2013/12/12/post2134/ I apologize if someone did this already and I haven't seen it. Thanks....
  7. here's another one you might have trouble getting out of your head.... And another one....(can't guarentee your ears won't start bleeding after this one...) Start it at about :40
  8. there's no need to beat a dead horse over this, but the information people gave you here is basically correct. The true answer is do what you feel comfortable doing. If you don't mind having your phone number, address and RL name all over your profile, then by all means, do that. But...be prepared for the consequences that come from doing that. The only RL information I have on that tab is that I'm 3 hours ahead of SL time. If someone asks me, I'll tell them what state I live in (often the state of insanity or intoxication, depending on my mood :matte-motes-sunglasses-3:) or that I'm married but that's about it. That being said, a few of my close SL friends are also friends on FB or have my email address. But these are people that I trust and it took about a year to earn that trust. I am also FB friends with them and have their emails, so it goes both ways. So, bottom line is that I wouldn't give out too much personal information on the RL tab of your profile...again, what time zone you're in or what state you live it..but it's what you're comfortable with. Don't let anyone else tell you what you should or shouldn't have on your RL tab of your profile.
  9. After investigation... Looks like they've disabled inbox messaging via my.secondlife.com. I would take a guess and say it's probably related to the fact that unstoppable abuse is possible via this mechanism. That makes sense...can you direct me to where you saw this through LL? If so, excellent. Sorry, have to disagree. As usual, one bad apple ruined it for everyone else. What's next..deleting the forums because of all the Mubai Prostitute ads???? However, I'd be skeptical that this feature will return. Might be more suitable to look into a sustainable method of messaging, either via web-based chat or secure IM. Unfortunately, those don't work for me. I tend to use the mysecondlife.com page while at work and webbased chat or IM's won't work for me. Thanks for you assistance though...
  10. Freya Mokusei wrote: I don't use the inbox there, so I've no idea. However you should test JS support on your work browser, using a site such as this: http://www.adspeed.com/Knowledges/262/Problems_Account/howto_test_browser_supports_JavaScript.html Click the button, check PASS or FAIL. If it fails, you'll need to re-enable Javascript in whichever browser you're using. Thanks Freya... Tried that and it passed. I'm thinking that it's an SL issue. I tried sending a message from the browser on my iphone and I got the same kind of error. Oh well...guess I'm going to be cut off from civilization for a while....
  11. Hi everyone... Wonder if anybody else has been having issues with the "My second life" inbox? I spend a good part of my day on there sending messages (since I can't use the SL viewers at work), but for the last few days, I haven't been able to send any messages to existing threads (I receive a "javascript:void0" or something like that error) and the button that usually says "New Message" is gone. Has anyone else been having these problems or did I do something unknown to screw up my inbox? Thanks for the help.... Edited to correct the error message....
  12. wizzelone wrote: is there any body out there? i see people starting to talk in the group chats but it looks like no one sees me awnser them. or am i just colectivly ignored by whole sl community. or is it normal that people start saying some thing in open group chat and tan say nothing any more. even when i start a group chat no one awnsers. Oh..I'm sorry. Did you say something? I didn't see you come in....:matte-motes-sunglasses-3: Honestly, depending on where you are when you're trying to start an open chat, people may not see you. There can be a lot going on so don't take it personally.
  13. This has already been talked about...if it's the same thing. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/General-Discussion-Forum/Lindens-at-a-discount-scam-or-not/m-p/2348033/highlight/true#M139995 There is a solution to avoid receiving these messages as well. Good luck
  14. Surfaqua Oh wrote: Hello everyone, Since 2 days it is possible to put pictures in the FEED. message: failed to Upload image to your profile feed of course, i have test on multiple sims, thinking it came from the lag. But no matter how sim ........ it is absolutely impossible to load an image from my feed Please help me: have you a idea of the problem? I've been having the same issue for a few days as well. Not sure what the problem was as the person with me was able to add a picture. What viewer are you using? It might be worth it to reinstall. If you're using Firestorm, you can probably send an IM to the support group inworld. Or maybe file a JIRA if you're using the SL viewer?? I'm just putting the pictures up on Flickr if I can't get them on the feed. Good luck
  15. Hello and welcome to SL It isn't easy to find jobs in SL. I would keep checking the feeds as every so often, a job agency will post of available positions. It will be difficult as you're under 30 days old...a lot of places won't hire you. You might wish to start by working on your AV to make it as "non-noob" as possible. There are lots of free things for residents who are under 30 days old...some even 60 days old. A good place to do that is the Fab Free in SL website. http://fabfree.wordpress.com/ It will give you a lot of places to check out to tweek your AV just the way you want it. As for jobs, this might help you a bit. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Guide_to_Jobs_in_Second_Life Good luck!
  16. Sephina Frostbite wrote: So got a few dumb question so bare with me.. or is it bear.. honestly I am too tired to think right now. Anyways, I want to start a group chat of my own but I was wondering if you have to own a sim to do that. If not how does one start a group.. Thanks in advance for putting up with me. Seph...a science teacher of mine once said that there are no such things as dumb questions, just dumb answer. (and believe me, I'm full of those) :matte-motes-sunglasses-3: Depending on what you want to do, you can start a group chat with people on your friend's list without owning a group. All you would need to do is (at least on FS) hold down shift and highlight those people who you want to talk to, then click IM. That will open up a box where all the people in the group should (theoretically) be able to chat with each other. Hope that helps and I don't ever mind putting up with you.... :matte-motes-sunglasses-3:
  17. It's kind of a shame...this is a wasted post. LL doesn't read the forums when there's complaints..what makes you think they're going to read the forums when someone says something good about them? I might suggest, Tarina, that you send LL a note (whether it be email, snail mail or through the website) complimenting the individuals that helped you. Having worked in customer service industries for a while, it's always nice for the managers to hear some positive comments about their employees, rather than all the negatives that get sent to them.

I don't know if I'm the best person to answer this, but I'll give it my best shot. I know it can take some time for the item to show up...did you log out or move locations before the item arrived? Also, check to make sure the money was deducted from your account. Could be that you never got charged. If all else fails, you need to contact the creator of the item and tell them what happened. Hope that helps. Good luck

  20. Phil Deakins wrote: We've had a recent thread about it here. You are not the only one rceiving the spam and, if my memory is correct, blocking the sender won't help because different new accounts are used to send it. If you don't us your Feed, turn it off.. My ALTs are getting hammered with these messages. Would turning the feed off help if it's coming through as messages in your inbox on the SL page? (and does that sentence even make sense?) If so, can you advise how to turn it off? I don't think I've ever had to do that before. Thanks

  23. Marigold Devin wrote: General Discussions section of these forums kind of provides a place to share exactly what we want to share anyways - or am I missing something? (2am here, its likely). No, Mari....you are ABSOLUTELY right. How many times have we seen posts (trolled or not) expressing some person's thoughts or feelings or whatever? The OP asked: Would you guys take comfort in this sort of thing? No. sorry....
  24. Zerkko wrote: As the title says.. everything seems dead.. I visit a place, and everybody seems to be AFK.. and when i talk to them they are acting cold. Where can i meet pepole? Getting sick of be alone in this Second life. What can i do? What place should i visit.. I really want make friends.. atleast 2-3 friends for every log in i make. Right now i just want to quit this game Whats the point if i cant meet pepole. Sorry for my bad english, but i hope you understand me and can help me out. :matte-motes-grin: Good day... I can completely understand feeling lost in SL. It's a big world that can be slightly overwhelming if you don't know what you're doing. Here's my suggestion: Go into the search function and put in some of your interests...dancing, art, music, photography, whatever...find some groups that contain your interests and join them. Once you're in there, send out a group message or send an IM to the moderator. You should be able to meet a few people who can tell you where the activity is. Also, you can go into the search and check out the featured places on the first tab (forgive me as I don't have SL in front of me and can't remember what it's called). Once you're there...don't just start chatting..no one will hear you. You need to be a bit brave..walk up to people...say hello. Worst that will happen (unless you grief them or something) is that they'll ignore you. Don't take it personally...move on. If you don't like that one, try another one. Hopefully, these suggestions will help a bit. That's what I did when I first started and it's worked pretty well for me. Good luck. Edited to add: Oh..just another suggestion..don't call SL a game. It upsets people....:matte-motes-sunglasses-3:
