You can wear that stuff, then peel them off and thrown them in a giant bonfire..then dance around all nakies a la "Lord of the Flies!!" It'll be great!! *wonders where he put his camera....* :matte-motes-sunglasses-3:
  2. I've had this problem a few times...what I do is unplug my router and my modem...and possibly turn off the computer...then restart everything; Computer first, then Moden (modem, I can't spell), then Router. That should fix your problem. The fix, unfortunately, is temporary. It works for a while but, eventually, it will happen again. What I've found out is that you need to replace your router. Good luck.
  3. SCMW2013 wrote: Hello, my name's Shannon and I've just joined Second Life but I am so confused! What exactly can I do here? What is this 'game' about? I've tried reading up on Second Life but instead of finding answers I end up with more questions..I even read that businesses from the real world can set up shop in Second Life and that you can even be hired for work to earn $L! What do you suggest I do for now, just explore? Could someone please explain jobs and housing to me? And lastly (for now!) I read that you can 'kill' other Residents..is that possible or even allowed or do you suffer penalties for commiting murder like you would in real life? In regards to that question I'm only asking because my Husband would like the freedom to role-play a killer (and NO he is NOT crazy!) Ok, thank you :womanhappy: I would also welcome to you SL, Shannon You're gotten a lot of good advice here. I would continue to say that you should check the search function for things that you like to do (and for the combat sims your husband is into). Find groups that interest you and join them...it's a great way for you to connect with other people who share your interests. Make friends (then unfriend them when they become obnoxious...:matte-motes-sunglasses-3:); Go to clubs...Explore the world. There's lots of things out there for you to do and discover. Please don't just hang out in the welcome HUBs...that can only lead to trouble. I should also say that you're coming into SL in a slight state of flux. LL (the company that runs SL) in deep in the middle of making changes that are going to help your experience. Until the time that they're finished, you may run into some frustrations...things not rezzing (meaning that they never appear to you on screen), people looking grey, lag (the delay of various processes..like chat being delayed or moving after you release the arrow key) Don't let that get you down!! It can be frustrating..very frustrating, in fact...but eventually, it will all be fixed and your enjoyment will increase. Be patient. It may also be effected by the viewer you're using (Firestorm or the LL viewer). It'll be fine... Also, try different things..nothing says that you have to be a human woman. You can be anything that you want. There are no limitations to what you can try. Lastly, be careful in calling SL a "game". There are people you may meet inworld who get offended by that. :matte-motes-sunglasses-3: Good luck
  4. Perrie Juran wrote: I'm not trying to be difficult, just trying to understand. Exactly what "space on the Grid" would this free up? Are you talking about In World? You're not being difficult, my friend...I am... :matte-motes-sunglasses-3: I had a thought..that maybe if LL used the new TOS as an opportunity to delete old AVs that it might have some benefit to SL in general. I thought that it might free up space in world and that it might also free up last names to be allowed for them to be used again...because we all know that LL doesn't delete AVs no matter how old or unused they are. I do know that it would probably give LL a slightly better idea of how many users (although, many people have ALTS as well) are actually playing SL. My apologies..it was a bad attempt at a bad joke....:matte-motes-sunglasses-3:
  5. Perrie Juran wrote: Tex Monday wrote: Was just thinking about this. SL put out a new TOS, do you think they are able to track who agrees and who never does? And if there is no activity, could SL use the opportunity to remove old avatars that have been sitting around for years? Might solve a bunch of problems and open up things like last names, again. Or is that just wishful thinking??? What problems might it solve other than reducing the amount of data they are storing? As to last names, I'm not sure exactly what it would free up. While some last names were more popular than others, if there was a rhyme or reason for how long LL kept a name available, they never stated it to my knowledge. ok...obviously, I'm not getting through to you people......uuggghhh!!! :matte-motes-sunglasses-3: *calms down a bit* I figured it might free up some space on the grid. Maybe (and I have no idea) old AV information is stored somewhere and it could free space up for other stuff. I don't know what...just speculating As for the last name thing..I thought (again, wrongly) that one of the reasons for no last names is that aren't any left. If they got rid of the old AVs, they might be able to bring them back. I don't have any tech knowledge (obviously) so I don't have any real ideas. Just a thought. I was wrong. It's not the first time today...and probably won't be the last. Thanks all...

  7. All the comments about your young age aside, welcome back to SL My first suggestion is to go into the search function...put in some of your interests (except the MONEY one..that can only lead to trouble :matte-motes-sunglasses-3:) Once you're in there, find a group that fits those interests..then join it. Send out a group IM or send a note to the moderator. Someone there can definitely help you. On the East Coast myself, but old enough to be your Father.....:matte-motes-sunglasses-3: Good luck..

Dillon...don't you stand under that streetlight looking for work? If you do, you could deduct it as a business expense.... :matte-motes-sunglasses-3:

Half my invent won't load, says I'm typing when I'm not, AO stops then starts again, when walking I do the well known slide instead of taking actual steps etc. Some of my friends have exactly the same issues so anyone else experiencing this as well? yes. Had the same issues (or many of them) last night when I was on. I'm sure it's something LL is doing. It'll fix itself, just be patient.
  10. Apparently, everyone wants to be ginger nowadays...
  11. Welcome back to SL, Ashlyn My suggestion, as always, is to check the search for groups which share similar interests...movies, music, dancing.... then join it. Most groups are free and have some people on line at one time. Once you're in there, send out a group message. Say hello and see what happens. Most people in groups are eager to talk to other people. Find out where all the cool kids hang out... :matte-motes-sunglasses-3: then go there. Good luck....
  12. Welcome to SL, Alma Finding a job is one of the more difficult things in SL. Here is a link to the SL page which might help http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Guide_to_Jobs_in_Second_Life I would suggest that you correct your walking issue before embarking on this hunt. and since you are only 30 days old (more or less), some of these places might not hire you. Another suggestion is to take a few classes...I know there are classes on building that are available...see if you can pick up some skills. Maybe learn to DJ?? Good luck.
  13. Czari Zenovka wrote: I didn't know there was one to begin with...but now I know to keep my eyes open. (That is, if I was on the guest list. :matte-motes-bashful-cute:) Aw...that's cute... Yes Czari, it was an open invitation for anyone to come. But as I said, I forgot about a previous engagement and had to cancel it for now. HUGS!!:matte-motes-sunglasses-3:

I would not wear it on a train. I would not wear it in a box. I would not wear it with a fox. I would not wear it in the house. I would not wear it with a mouse. I would not wear it here or there. I would not wear it ANYWHERE! I would not wear that T-shirt, ma'am I would not wear it, Tex I am.... (With apologies to Dr. Suess...):matte-motes-sunglasses-3:
  15. I'm going to put this in a bunch of different places so everyone knows... I was informed yesterday that I have an important RL event that I promised to attend, so the Forum Posters Party scheduled for August 24th is being cancelled. Thanks to all who encouraged me to have this and to Hippie for the supplies. I'll pick another day soon and try again.

  17. Storm Clarence wrote: I disagree. Your post reminded me of an old joke: What did one saggy boob say to the other saggy boob? If we don't get some support here, people are going to think we're nuts! Good point.....:matte-motes-sunglasses-3: But, you don't see too many saggy boobs in SL. I was assuming (which is always a mistake on my part) that we were talking Lola vs System (?) breasts....
  18. To be very honest with you, I wouldn't know a Lola breast if it hit me in the face...:matte-motes-sunglasses-3: I don't look at a woman and wonder what type of breast is under her top (or showing on TT). Breasts are Breasts...I love the look no matter which one they use. Doesn't make a difference to me.
  19. Ellen Cordeaux wrote: Hi all, I have searched and searched and can't figure out which forum is the appropriate one to promote my inworld group. It is an event informer group, not adult rated. The old forums used to have a section for that, but I can't find it here, if it exists. Any suggestions? Thank you. :matte-motes-bashful-cute-2: Just place the ad and if it's wrong LL will move it to the right forum area or delete it.
  20. Welcome to SL, Silver... My first suggestion, if you haven't done so already, is to check out the search function in the viewer. You can always find lots of events and things going on. Also, in the search function put in some of your interests...dancing, movies, music...then look for a group in that interest. Join it...then either send oujt a group IM or IM the moderator. You can usually meet a few people that way and find out fun places to hang out. Good Luck
