  1. Those who genuinely know me and the way i conduct business, know how i "think about my customers". I have a well established business and will go the extra mile for my customers. I also work for other people in-world and provide service and support for their businesses. Just because my opinion differs from yours and others and i am not afraid to voice it, does not mean my own business practices fall under the category of "shady". I do listen to my customers and always will. I am just getting tired of people always ganging up on creators and their decisions like we are the evil ones. We are people, we make mistakes, we learn every day. But the way some people think they need to call us out is ridiculous. Yes, there are shady business people in SL. There always have been and always will be. I am just done with the constant creator bashing.
  2. Just as OP states that she deems certain actions by a business owner as 'creator arrogance", i can flip the scales and say that projecting your way of thinking on a creator in an effort to making then conform to your satisfaction, is "consumer arrogance" A creator has no obligation to conform to anyone. If a consumer does not like the way a creator conducts their business, they can respond by not buying from them. But the constant complaining about the "Mod/No Mod" issue and now the way a creator states or does not state permissions on a product is just whining. Don't like a creator? Move on with your day and don't buy from them.
  3. This is usually a problem caused by software like ad-blockers or anti-virus. Try it through a page in Chrome, in incognito mode. Just press ctrl+shift+n and try visiting the page on that tab.
  4. For now, everything will remain as is. That is what Patch stated in the first few posts in this thread
  5. We have had no outages or problems being reported. We have the occasional issue which usually can be traced back to the merchant not having their setup optimized. But no unilateral issues.
  6. Usually ordinary people cannot decide their fate when a despot takes the power in their country. To dismiss a creator just based on their nationality i find rather xenophobic. Keep in mind that most things (including viewers) are created by people just like you and i. Not major companies or conglomerates.
  7. No announcements have been made about that as far as i know
  8. Just like in RL; of course i will not always be happy with decisions that any regulator takes but as a business person i will deal with it and adapt. The fees on MP are often mentioned as an example. I see those a the cost of using a service that benefits my business. Just like i pay my landlord for land and a certain blogger system to manage my bloggers. Doing business costs money. Fees, subscriptions, taxes are a fact of live. Laws and regulations are another one. Some i like, some i don't but i will have to deal with them and i will.
  9. I am glad i can decide who can buy and use my products. In a free economy that is my right as a creator. It is also my right as a person to make my SL as comfortable as i want it to be. If that means that i want to ban people just because i do not agree with them or think they are annoying, that is my right. No long chapters of responses will ever change my mind on this. You keep avoiding the fact that every person is personally accountable for their actions. You sometimes mention it briefly but then bounce back to what a merchant should do in your view. I consider anyone who makes my SL uncomfortable a nuisance and i will deal with them as i see fit within the confines of ToS and the tools provided to me.
  10. You keep going on about a free economy but sometimes people behave in such a way that their access to this economy has to be restricted. A free economy doe not mean that a person can act in any way they see fit and expect to get away with it all the time. You keep focusing on the economics part and you totally ignore the personal part. If i own a major retail chain in rl and a person chooses to personally attack me, you bet i am going to ban them from ALL my stores and make sure their name gets out. You totally ignore the fact that there is such a thing as holding someone personally accountable for their actions. And if they continue to show these actions, they will have to accept that there are consequences to them. There are always consequences to someones actions, whether there is free speech or a free economy or not.
  11. Maybe you should browse the internet more. Plenty of cases can be found where people actually were banned from RL stores. With the police issuing a "no trespass" notice. Some people can be quite abrasive and they should not be surprised that their behaviour has actual repercussions. So i see the feature to ban and block people as a legitimate tool to not have to engage with people like that. This had nothing to do with monopolist tendencies and in some cases i really hope it makes people think about what they are doing. In a lot of cases the issue is not the businessperson but the person being banned.
  12. That is a reason as well. But i think the main reason is more personal. A person should have the ability to secure their own peaceful and happy SL. So they should have the choice to block anyone from it. In any way shape or form.
  13. Do not count on any adult region or club to be economically viable without a secondary income stream like a business selling goods. Places like this are usually a labour of love.
  14. You do realize that no matter what vendor a creator uses, the data/info flows through LL servers right?
  15. I have a Premium Plus account. No issues here. Not as a creator or otherwise.
  16. Lindal, just out of curiosity. What country are you in? Because i noticed lately my friends from Germany having more issues that others.
  17. I am not going into the topic of this discussion. I work for Caspertech support and i can tell you that both our supportgroup and ticketsystem will run as normal.
