  1. Ok...seriously.....where is the problem? Your profile was always public to everyone in second life, now everyone outside can look at it. Its the profile of an avatar and it is not feeded with anything related to yourself as a real person (as long as you don't put everything about you in it with your own hands). If you are not comfortable with strangers reading it, you never should have written something into it, right?
  2. Thats stupid. Most regions are M rated, but contain nothing what could be wrong for a child. Many beaches are M rated and they are not nude areas. Would you say a child shouldn't go there? Many shops are placed on M rated regions. When I think about the sim where I have my house on....there is a church, some residents houses, absolutly harmless shops and a club, which is open at night for holding some events. This can be said for many M rated sims. Only for A rated sims I can agree with you. And now....can we go on and spread ignorance and hate to some other subculture in SL? How about bdsm? Why not hating people with leashes and collars a little?
  3. Keep in mind, your children are real children. In case of childavatars we are talking about adult users who made their avatar look like a child. Hanging out with them (outside of every roleplay conversation) is pretty much like talking with normal people. There avatars don't make them limited in their mind.
  4. LaraLarisson wrote: It is just amazing how you people are so desperate to "play" at being a disciminated against minority. Whether its your skin or tail or shape - you CHOOSE to wear that in SL. It is your right. Other people, some landowners, choose what type of avatar they want on their land. You choose your appearance, they choose who to let in. Get a life, real or second! I know its what they can choose, but I think I pick my right to express my opinion in a forum discussion, just like everyone else here. Well, after all I have enough "life" not feeling in need to advertise myself like you do in your profile. Thank you for that, really made me laugh.
  5. I wouldn't go from sizes the viewer tells me but from what I see. If there is an avatar that is really short, even compared to not oversized avatars then I would talk about a child-size. And lets face the true: There are adults in RL who are very short....sorry to say, but they have sometimes the size of a child. (can't realy refer now to the sizes you mentioned, cause I'm not familiar with this system). But to make an avatar finally to a child, I would look how the shape is made, what skin is used and what the profile says.
  6. AO = Animation Overrider. This are items you can buy which animate your charakter, giving you a different walk and play some other animation when you are typing instead of the basic animation for it. Also, you really should search for "Sandbox" I don't know where you went or what you found by searching for sandlot....but you have to make sure to visit a place where everyone is allowed to put things to the ground or build.
  7. Yay for warcraft! Good....I begin to miss my game account now.... Well, I have roleplay charakters. They act as its logical for them in the roleplay setting. They don't represent me and I take more the role as a puppetmaster. But when I'm not roleplaying people who chat with me talk to the person behind the keyboard and not to a fictional charakter. If they ask for an opinion they get my own opinion. But I would never consider Syo Emerald as an extension of me. I see my avatar more as something offering me a step into a world where I can do what ever I like and relax from the world outside. Here I can be some fantasy-me. I have fur, paws and a tail or I click some buttons and look like a model and go into clubs and or drive a box on wheels down some road in Zindra....I'm such a loser when it comes to driving....in both worlds :matte-motes-crying:

Wonderful world really..... But what should I expect from two people with human avatars? You'll never get into those situations.... Grief them all, that is what I would like to see and many places where humans are not allowed. Its more than just dresscode. My skin, my head, my ears, my eyes...that not a damn dresscode! Your basic premise is incorrect. Setting standards is not the same as bullying. As I wrote at the end of my last comment; "No shirt, no shoes, no service." - a dresscode that by no means 'bullies' those not wearing shirts. It plainly states that they won't be welcome. Insults, intimidation, harrassment and whatever else is completely separate from simply having expectations from people using a service or arriving at a location. Bullying implies that there's a definable, defenseless victim; in the case of a dress-code the only victims are people who willingly choose to become victims. Your skin, head, ears, eyes, are all attachments or clothing layers. They're all dress, and all choice. I also resent the implication that I've never been discriminated against. It is mean, cause as I explained it now more than one time. My avatar is this one and not the basic shape and eyes every avatar needs to have due to Second Life software. Is your avatar just the shape and your eyes? I'm sure it isn't. And its a prove of your misunderstanding in avatar choices that you compare it with simple clothes. You can change your clothes, but as a human you can keep your skin, your eyes and everything else. When I change, I lose my complete avatar. Yes and I think you never had problem with discrimination other way you wouldn't talk like that.
  9. You don't need a second account because of roleplay. You can easily change your look. But if you want another name for your roleplay, a secound account might be a good idea.
  10. I can understand if someone who owns a region or a club has a good reason for those steps, like advising people to wear enough clothes cause of the maturity rating or if its a roleplay sim and there are specific clothes needed to play in this setting, or if its an adult sim that is highly conected to sex and because of not hurting the rules they don't like children to be at that place. But everything else I see as a violation against anybodies free choice to be who they want to be. Nobody gets harmed by a fluffy tail. :catindifferent:

  12. Its not simply a roleplaying thing. I, and many others who chose an avatar that is not some 0815 human, don't simply play a role. I didn't thought as I brought a furry "Oh lets play some charakter who is member of an exotic race from the jungle" or something like that. The same goes for most nekos and other avatars. Its not a fictional charakter who gets said she is not allowed to go somewhere. Its me who gets told that the avatar I tend to chose is not allowed. My taste gets voted down to something harmfull or disgusting. We don't harm anyone, we don't bother anyone. We are friendly people doing nothing bad to others........ Hating us out of nothing is intolerance. Its exactly the same as being rude to people in RL because of their apperance.
  13. I use the marketplace when I don't know where I can find shops for the things I'm looking for, when I don't have enough time or when I simply get frustrated over inworld shopping. The last point really is important. You shop owners are crying about marketplace? If I search for something there I get what I searched for, but inworld I mostly get anything but not what I searched for. And if I found a shop the prices are up in the air and no I'm not willed to pay 500L for every little outfit, I rather run around naked or go to the marketplace instead. Not to forget that many shops really are too big or full with stuff. I want to go shopping not waiting 15 minutes until the shop is rezzed perfectly and then see that they don't offer what I want.
  15. I think there is an option to enable avatar physiks and set the volume with a slider.
  17. Also there should be seen what a bad comment can do to a product. Many people don't even take a look at products rated with two stars or lower. But very often I see that the comments which downrate the product are just a mirror for the customer being dumb. I saw people whining on products which they didn't get (not a merchants fault), people getting angry about them being not able to do certain things or understand how to use something right and one person even started to rage, cause he brought a mod and thought he get a whole avatar. As long as I haven't seen the item and your comment, I would be carefully to judge about the merchant.
  18. It always helps me to open my profile and wait a moment after I logged into the tipjar. The blurry look goes away as the picture in my profile is loaded correctly.
  19. Gruppen suchen und beitreten ist ne gute Möglichkeit sich umzuhören was nachts so läuft oder wo du was auf deutsch finden kannst.
  20. May I ask where you got that outfit from and if its available in different colours?
  21. I'm also prefering the second picture with the skirt.

Possibly the two most popular furry avatars in SL, are cartoonishly cute and unreal. I know both avatars but I have to disagree that they are the most popular furry avatars around. I see more dogs, wolves and foxes around and only very few using the bunny or the felis. And I also think the felis is still closer to a real cat than the avatar from blue galaxy, because before someone told me what it should be...I had no idea at all. What I also fear about mesh is, that it seems to force someone to have a certain shape, because I saw someone with mesh clothes who told me she looks fat in them compared to normal clothes. Also I worry about editing meshstuff. I'm happy with my furry avatars and see no need in changing. Yeah, this mesh cat is cartoony. Though I find the felis just as cartoony but in a different cartoon style. Neither is a good choice for realism. They're only good for stylistic looks. I actually use the same furry as I think you're using: The dark spot designs Ocelot. That's my primary choice when furry and not neko. And my neko is actually just the same furry in part (the ears, tail, paws, and feet). Individually the felis and bunny are very popular, but yes - way too many foxes and canines. Its just that everybody (or so it feels sometimes) but me, you, and rob there - is on the curious bunny or felis cat if not a fox or dog. Probably because they're free. Editing: The screenshot I posted on the last page was a -mod- of that cat. I retextured it based on a mod kit's textures, and wore some prim horns that came in the mod. The deformer from Qarl will expand opportunities. "someone told me" is not the best way to explore it - most of the designers making mesh clothes are putting it out in a series of body shapes from rail thin to obese. Yeah that's me just telling you, but a free demo will answer it for you on your own. Yay! Finally someone who doesn't think I'm a cheetha And you realy see that canines and foxes are more popular....walls full of modpacks for everything, but only very few for cat avatars. Sombody should change that! But was the bunny free too? I always thought only the felis is.
  24. I got a skin from MyDear Skin and I'm absolutly happy with it. It looks natural and the shop offers a great varity of skintones and different options for the skin which are delivered in the same box. To the picture above: I don't know....somehow the girl in the middle scares me :catfrustrated:

Pussycat Catnap wrote: Syo Emerald wrote: Maybe I got influenced by a group conversation some time ago, where someone linked a picture with this avatar and was raged as nobody in the group agreed with him that this is the new way furry avatars should be made or that it is "awsome cute". Shrug. I have strong opinion about things like scale and proportions. But it seems odd to rage on someone over the fight you're picking there. Specific details of that avatar aside - mesh is a great way to improve quality of furry avatars. This avatar is a hybrid of mesh and sculpty, as noted above the bas head is sculpty. The rest os mostly mesh, including the ears. Mesh furrys will give us the ability to have things like animated tails with the detail level of a sculpty tail, but the flowing motion of a flexi - albeit pre-made animation rather than moving with your motion. For elements like the head, ears, eyes, mouth, claws, legs, and so on - done right it could be a major improvement. I'm not sure why this one has a sculptu head - but that is something I've noticed with at least one other avatar as well. As for the cute factor - its not to my tastes, but that is pretty popular - the felis cat and curious bunny for example.
