  1. Yes those are a pretty grey, Jacki. I never noticed your eyes before and I think those are the perfect eye color for you. And the backdrop color you picked for you badge really brings out the color of your eyes now, and they look striking. Mine have a little grey in them also. I like that look. I like all the eye colors, though I notice deep blue seems to be the favorite or No.1 from what I have seen. But, I still like all the eye colors; it depends on the overall avatar sometimes as to what the right eye color is for the overall look. I pretty much stick to my steal-blue greyish eyes.
  2. I see a lot of blue eyes on avatars. Or, I could even say I see blue eyes as the No. 1 choice for avatars. So, are blue eyes your personal favorite color for eyes, or do you use or prefer a different color? My avatar's eyes look like a steal-blue color and sometimes greenish, though I've noticed that a lot of avatars have the deep blue eyes. Also, do you change your eye color a lot or keep to one color?
  3. If you can't walk, it is best to go to one of the newbie islands and do the simple steps that teach you walking and other simple basics. Also, type in newbie friendly club in your destination/search guide and go to the newbie friendly places. You push the arrow keys on your keyboard forward to move. Also you cannot be on age verified "land" if you are not verified.
  4. @ Ishtara, Yogurt is a good source of vitamin D. To the OP: I love pumpkins, homemade pumpkin bread with icing, cooler days and nights, looking forward to the holidays, the changing of the leaves, and the chill in the air that makes me want to snuggle or buy a very soft sweater coat that is very silky to the touch.
  5. I have this problem too with one AO I purchased. I love the AO, but when I wear that particular AO, it stops my chim from working. The only way I seem to be able to correct the problem with the chim, is to take that particular AO off. Do you use an AO?
  6. I haven't watched the video's by Torley yet so I don't know what's in them, but one thing that is really helpful to me is to rename all the items I buy. I right click on a folder with the items and chose RENAME, and then I rename them into categories such as Boots, Black Knee High (may put designer name also), and then all my boots inventory is lined up. Taking that same example, you could rename all your JEANS as jeans with a description, or TOPS with a description, etc. It's best to think of some inventory system that works best for you though. Of course, I have no idea how many items you want to purchase, so you may fall into the category of wanting to only own one or a few outfits as some people do. I also keep a notebook and write things in my notebook for easy reference. Have you found Marketplace yet? Marketplace rocks, and to find Marketplace simply point your cursor at shopping instead of community, and you can find bizillions of things to few in a short time span. Click on Marketplace, then click open 'see all categories' and once you hit 'see all categories' that will bring up a pricing menu where you can search for items from 0 to 10 lindens, and up. The option tools are so amazing in Marketplace and you can search for items in all price ranges and narrow your search down so easily too, such as just wanting to shop for footwear for an example.
  7. Yes, I know that one of stacking. I'm not sure I like because I feel like a jeanie who has to grant a wish. :womansurprised:
  8. All I can say is maybe, it depends. But, for the most part, I have a second or different family on SL. Also, I don't have enough extra hours it would take to help all the people I could invite. I think I'd be helping all the time, and not have enough time to relax. A lot of family is into music, but not too many of them are into art or creative things like I am.
  9. Omg, the Mayor said that! West Coast television news story yesterday said this could be the worst hurricane to hit that area since 1938. I hope all of you in the hurricane's path will make it through this. Hang on!
  10. Ishtara Rothschild wrote: LL should have spent more time on mesh development and released it sometime in 2012 with morph support and Poser style adjustment sliders for breast size, hip width etc. Without morph options, mesh clothes are quite useless. It's just as half-baked a solution as sculpties were. Here's the post I'm referring to that Ishtara wrote. Can what Keli and Ishtara posed be done?
  11. Keli has an interesting question here. Also, Ishtara has an interesting point in her last post. Can any of these things be done... eventually even?
  12. Oh, I see, okay, an alpha layer to hide our custom made shape that we have created ourselves, still kind of "clonish" though in theory and kind of kills "your world, your imagination". However, I'm sure I'll try it at some point, but I'd rather the clothes fit to whatever shape I make. So, mesh is just a wait n see thing for me. I have two mesh sample dresses and I'll try them eventually.
  13. Ah! Scary! I've heard if you put on hats like these the trance music cannot infiltrate your brain. I need one of these.
  14. I never modify my shape to fit the clothes; I modify the clothes to fit my shape. As far as the first dresses in this thread the fit is bad and there is no way it would look good unless one has to modify their shape which I never do, so it's not silly at all. It's my avatar, I paid for it, so my shape stays the way I make it since I am the one paying for it. I also live in the land of sun dresses and I've tried sun dresses on in that style in real life, and if it's loose fitting in the bust area, just reaching for something in the grocery store exposes my breasts with just a very slight lean. The only way a woman could wear a dress like the first two shown is to wear a tank top under the dress. A longer hipper maxi type dress with a tank top underneath and a hip belt would look cuter and more realistic to me, and I'd probably wear something like that. I like the prim stuff, it has a better fit, and will continue to enjoy my wardrobe of cute prim clothes. @ Marianne, I like the clothes in the latest photos you are showing; those are cute, but I won't modify my shape to wear them nor put on another shape just to wear them even though they are cute. If I change my shape, there goes "Your world, your imagination" as I'd have to look like a clone of someone else's shape, and I'm not doing that.
  15. No, whoever wrote those horrible discoesque songs and that trance claptrap should admit to treachery. I'm like Cinn now, I've decided to hang around the blues. When that trance claptrap plays...oops, sorry... got......chatlag... sorry....and... I....can't...brb
  16. I have a SL, I just gotta dance in real life! I can't sit for 12 or more hours at a time like some people can. I just gotta dance! And, then I log off a lot for a real life in the evenings with my rl bf and I spend weekends in real life also, rather than SL. But, I still have a SL, only I'm about 10 hours a week, not 10 hours a day. Quantity does not equate to whether one has a SL or not.
  17. I know, I have two empty houses for rent where I rent, and they are so inexpensive. Mine is like 6 U.S. dollars a month and it's huge -- 2-story, 2-bedroom, the land lady is an absolute doll, and we were just talking about some decorating ideas she has for the holidays which sound way cool. Six dollars a month is hardly anything, and I really don't want a LL home, or I mean shoebox where I don't have room to change my mind hardly. I'd much rather rent; it's a far better deal. Sorry this happened to you. Hope you find something better! If more people would come to the forum, we'd get more renters, but I've noticed that even in fairly long threads, the average is about 550 views. 550 views compared to all the users in SL, is hardly any. It's seems not too many people read the forums, and they are missing out on so much information on how to create a better SL.
  18. Good, phew. @ Dres, believe what you want, as I can't prove anything to you. I honestly don't remember lying in order to not answer an IM. I just say brb or hold on a sec. I have lied about getting away from awful music at clubs though. Awful music is quite subjective, I know. But by awful I might mean music I've heard a million times already on SL, and I'm sick of it, so I don't want to hear it again, so I make a lame excuse or lie.
  19. @ Marigold, you get IM's in your email? Does that mean sim owners or groups know our email address? I thought only LL knew that? @ Dres, no I don't lie or not answer, I just say hold on a sec and brb, and then answer when I can. I can't chat a whole lot though because I exercise a lot in real life while Second Life is running, so my av is dancing and so am I quiet often. (If I had a job on SL, I wouldn't do that or go afk, of course, unless it was a real life emergency.) It's okay if there is chat delay or a few minutes between answering, and I don't mind if there is a delay in an answer coming back to me either because I believe real life comes first, and we do need to get up from our computer chair and move around as that is what the human body is meant to do -- move and exercise.
  20. I don't see how that is easy, as I've seen shapes from A to Z. All different kinds of shapes so I don't see how just an A, B and C would work at all? That limits the creativity to about three shapes.
  21. Yes, I saw the photos, they were loose fitting looking dresses to me. On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being worst and 10 being best, the look compared to other clothes they have is about a 1. I didn't like them very much, they kind of look like potatoe sacks a bit in the way they fit. The dresses kind of look like they are going to fall off or show your boobs as soon as your bend down to pick something up for an example, as that is what would happen in real life if you wore a dress that lose fitting, bend to pick up something, and your boobs would be hanging out all over the place. Now, some heterosexual men might like that idea. lolz
  22. I don't understand this mesh thing. I'm not changing my shape or putting on another shape just to have a dress or outfit fit. That would be like having to morph my avatar into another avatar just to wear the clothes then, not to mention that all the shapes would look alike. As far as mesh for scenery, I'm sure that will be interesting to see. But no, I'm not changing my shape into a pre-made one for each clothes I buy.
  23. Yes, of course. I make a honey-do list. Honey do this, honey do that. That's what we call them in America --- "Honey-Do" lists because men need little reminders on what needs fixing. DW-40 oil needs for squeaky doors or windows too hard to open, and certain other household maintenance things I can do myself, but the Honey-Do Lists are for bigger needs that I don't know how to do or don't want to do... like Honey, get rid of wasp nest. I make a grocery list and have just regular writing notebooks for my other lists and notes. I'm a hand-written list maker because that way I can tear it out of the book and place the list where I need it.
  24. I didn't read the whole thread, but for the most part "No". I keep things in my favorites and wait, because after a week or so, they might not be my favorites anymore. I might still like the designer and look at their new items, but I hardly ever buy anything with an impluse because I'm a Marketplace shopper and there are so many similar items to compare price wise, so it takes me a while to decide.
  25. True, and in the Imagine movie John is playing Imagine on this giant white grand piano. However, a lot of John's solo work is excellent. Paul and Wings *cringe*. Sappy love songs, barf. Oh, and I can't stand "Yesterday" either. There are a lot of Paul's songs I'd just turn off. Yesterday is worse than Imagine by far.
