The new Second Life Community Exhibition
Garnet Psaltery replied to Garnet Psaltery's topic in General Discussion Forum
If any of you were to start a new community would you make use of this potential gateway? -
I've been getting old gachas ready to sell at the Expo, and taking photos of clothing, since the boxes can be a bit confusing. To do this I had to wear my former biggie avatar. It feels weird; it's like meeting someone who could be familiar but also could be a stranger.

The new Second Life Community Exhibition

To be fair, there's no requirement in the majority of Steampunk regions to wear Steampunk or Victorian clothing, certainly not in Caledon, just be decently dressed. You should try visiting one of them sometime, even if it spoils the cadence of your snipe. -

The new Second Life Community Exhibition
Garnet Psaltery replied to Garnet Psaltery's topic in General Discussion Forum
It's a precious opportunity for other communities to have a try at welcoming new people. -
This sounds like great news to me. I saw it not long after it had been published and passed it to a manager of a community I'm in. Thoughts, anyone? Please note replies concerning Politics or Religion will be off-topic except for a brief mention of a community relating to either of those. I don't want this topic closed because someone can't behave; not even me.

What is your favorite non-human avatar?

Edited out. I just saw @Polenth Yue's reply after posting mine, and I said the same thing.. -
I've recently returned to eating meat, and am trying different sorts gradually. I discovered my body isn't happy with pork meatballs in tomato sauce. I have no problem with tomatoes, it's the pork. I'm hoping I'm not off bacon still, as I used to like it.

Welcome back! Apropos of not very much, this came up in my YT suggestions. It's quite fun.

I'm engaged with Relay for Life in a way I haven't been for years. Captaining a small team (me and one other who's too ill to be an official Co-Captain) has given me a great outlet for creative energy, and brought me into contact with some lovely people putting their time and effort into Relay. Please do come to the SL Living Expo when it opens on Friday, not just for me - I chose to be in a quiet corner anyway - but for all those people who are putting such a lot into it. Thank you. -
The article's a bit weird for me but I think I know what they mean. I call it the Pic-n-Mix approach, where you can choose all the bits you like from anywhere and never have to commit to anything. Commitment is hard.

Peeve. Coming across a remark meant for me to see but not knowing it's there until after the topic closes so I can't reply. I don't visit many topics at all, and just sometimes will look at another if there's not much that's new. I think tagging me will give me a notification so maybe use that?

The Tiny Explorers have a booth at the SL Living Expo in the 'Teams Meet and Greet' region. It isn't open until 2nd February but this is a photo of our booth. p.s. one of the ears fell down but it has been fixed now - sorry to the folks with OCD.

Dowland, a lutenist, the North Yorkshire Moors, and a steam train. Gradely.

What is your favorite non-human avatar?
Garnet Psaltery replied to Charlemagne Allen's topic in General Discussion Forum
My favourite is a Wynx Tiny Cat, naturally, but perhaps I'd like being a pony if I could be like Peanut, who is small and sweet. -
If there were a good cause or a very special exhibition involved then I might consider donning a biggie or other appropriate avatar for it, and I'd dress accordingly, though I can't think of an occasion where this has happened. I'd just hope for a landing area that gives me time to decide on it (and that applies anywhere).

I don't know if this is a peeve but all those food postings have given me a great appetite.
