  1. On the subject of the sliders between Lara v5.3 and LaraX, there has been a trade off made here. Fine grained control has been swapped for being able to go to more extremes. In others words each notch on the slider has more effect. Obviously that is great if you want that but not if you prefer more subtlety and that fine-grained control over your shape.
  2. For myself, if it gets to the point where I feel it would be better to not continue in public, my choice would always be to end the conversation right there. I've found, again for myself, that there is no need to allow random private conversations with anyone. Should someone specifically ask to talk to me in private, I'd be happy to consider it but probably inworld, depending on who it is of course, but otherwise everything I'd want to discuss here with anyone I would rather be public or not at all.
  3. I guess there would be a few edge cases to have to define though such as what happens during this time if an avatar rezzes another vehicle while their other vehicle is still rezzed. Is it abandonment just to temporarily leave that parcel? Is it a vertical range as well or just horizontal? I don't have any fundamental objections in principle to such a scheme if it can be made to work well, especially if applied to LL public land and as long as it would not replace the existing system. I'm not sure I would prefer to use it on my airstrip for example. The auto-return works very well there.
  4. How can you be certain it wouldn't need to be expensive or negatively affect region owners? The idea in your OP seems to indicate range from the object but I can see that this would require tracking that isn't done today. What would trigger that tracking? Unsitting from an object you own but on land that you have no rights over? Are there better ideas? I'll admit I don't have any.
  5. I don't think it's unreasonable. I can see why LL set short auto-returns, it's to reduce vehicles being left all over the place. It's not like RL where you probably aren't going to abandon your brand new super-yacht or performance vehicle and never come back. In SL this happens all the time because of the ability to copy. So this is where the comparison with RL breaks down which really demands different approaches in my opinion. For me the alt solution, camming around shops or finding a rez spot afterwards is sufficient. I would rather that than the vehicle litter than would ensue. Lots of vehicle users would start complaining if the regions were too full to traverse too. I think your proposal would be fraught with issues detecting what it means to leave vehicle if you are no longer sitting on it, maybe even be quite expensive to perform. I can understand why you want it though. I do agree that in principle that the auto-return timer should probably start once you unsit as that is probably what most people expect but there maybe performance issues with doing that, i.e. lots of timers vs. one timer that sweeps for all vehicles on a parcel. I would put my money on that being the reason it works as it does.
  6. I don't think there is anything to be fixed here. Land owners have choices they can exercise to provide parking without auto-return if they want and vehicle owners have a choice they can exercise to keep their vehicles rezzed assuming it's allowed. All in all just like most SL things, it's not perfect but it's a reasonable middle ground.
  7. How about: "Is anyone else having these problems?" Your post could over to some as simply an angry rant to people who are not in position to help you. I'm not surprised you got the reactions you got to be honest.
  8. That's just you making stuff up. I was pointing out that had he asked that actual question, it might have shaped the replies differently.
  9. Who said I couldn't? Not I. Is that another rather lame put down?
  10. Well of course you did. Between that and your targeted insults, you are so insightful. I see you Luna.
  11. To be fair, your OP never even asked that of anyone.
  12. Go you!!! However, I think the best policy is just to let them get on with their vent/rant and steer clear to be frank.
  13. I would suggest that would be better achieved with people they know rather than complete strangers on the internet.
  14. If the goal was just to vent then it shouldn't matter what any further responses are.
  15. Bellisseria is without doubt the most picturesque builds ever done by the moles. That doesn't invalidate or conflict with anything thing else that has been said here about them in my opinion. All planned subdivisions/suburbs all over the world have a sameness to them that you don't get in non-planned, organically grown residential areas or in, particularly, very old cities in the world. I didn't think that anyone was knocking Belli per se but just wishing/hoping for something that looked less planned out. My own opinion is that even though I agree with that sentiment of a less planned look, it probably wouldn't be easy to achieve, especially to have many, many unique regions of them so enough people could choose them. Nevertheless, it does mean that Belli isn't to everyone's taste and that doesn't mean there is anything wrong with it when all said and done.
  16. Come on, you know that all you have to do here is declare a contentious statement such as "the sky is definitely blue" and woosh!
  17. It's an opinion I agree with as well.
  18. As this topic is really about the first look all the questions that can be answered about the mobile viewer are only really possible from what's been shown in one form or another from first look to early adopters. After 12 pages in, I cannot disagree that this topic has probably run it's course. Not sure there is much point to people asking those questions at all though. You know what kind of answers they get about "when". There hasn't really been a set of posted hardware requirements I can tell even now except Android and iOS which is a pretty broad catch. "Will it have X feature" is also the kind of question to generally goes unanswered or have vague hand-wavy answers.
  19. Back on topic, I'm happy to wait until LL and all the unpaid suckers volunteers have got it nice and all polished up before taking a look. Would definitely be handy to use from time-to-time but I cannot imagine using it a great deal personally.
