Linden Lab your PBR is giving me a headache

Why do you think OS usage for FS shows that Linux Loudmouths make up UNDER 1.5 % of SecondLifers?

It didn't fail because there was some sinister cabal of "rotten people" who, against all reason, insisted  in publicly disagreeing with the fact free garbage you spout.

Paul failed cloning himself in real time like 200 times or so. If had succeeded there´d be the amazing number of 250 people to praise that not needed, not demanded, not functional and not wished for giant dollar dump being the "future of the metaverse". And calling the few biilion human lifeforms who never demanded nor needed it "rotten" people.

On topic, some Linux users switched to using "Wine" (at least, on Windows) blah blah blah.

Wine is a translation layer that lets Windows programs be run on Linux. It isn't an operating system unto itself.

I know, I was just trying to be a bit humorous since Zal was ranting about Linux and listed "Milkshakes" (a non-adult beverage). Whereas, "Wine" is an adult beverage.

I don't think just anybody will pretty much will understand how eeps works meeting one or two things will happen  that 1 people might end up quitting second Life or 2 or end up getting a new computer I don't think a lot of people understand how mesh works it's based on polygon count I have to learn this the hard way when I was using the blinn-phong system you can't have a lot of polygons or it will slow another person's computer down  if you have too many things going on regardless of who's to really to blame here saying that it's the Creator's faults isn't going to fix the problem what needs to happen you need to remake the code what I'm thinking what's going on it's not happening with second Life it's happening with a lot of 3D games that is running on older code the only reason why second Life is doing this they're trying to compete with VR chat  and we know it's not working at this point you need to remake second life from scratch and make it up to date. If you just want to compete with VR chat. But that's not the reason why we all went on second Life in the first place is it?, I'm pretty sure that we need to get new computers at some point but right now our main priority is to make the messages is clear  that we need to Prioritize how we make stuff, that are up to standard mean it has to be less maintenance why do you think most people are going to to make avatars more lighter the lesser the avatar weight is the more performance on your PC.

 

I may apologize if this does sound rude   I'm just also a bit concerned as well. But I'm not ready to pretty much use PBR system yet but learning to deal with it i'm just have trouble making a mirror and it was hard to pull off.

It's true that SL creators can do better at reducing the polycount and VRAM usage of content in SL but reducing polycount and texture usage alone won't be enough unless you can also convince SL residents to lower their expectations as to what should be achievable on a platform like SL.  It's all too common to hear people talk about how SL avatar customization is the best on any platform and SL avatars look better than any other game character, but they often fail to realise that's because no sane developer would dream of using a game levels worth of geometry and textures for a single character.

My old car had a failing transmission, and without a running start, it couldn’t get up steep hills. i asked the city council if they could smooth out the hills, but they just laughed.

Eventually, when the car stopped moving forward at all I had it towed it to a transmission repair shop and had it rebuilt. It worked just fine afterwards, and I got another 10 years out of the car, untl I scrapped it this summer

That is an old quote!  Apparently attributed to Lee Linden, I couldn't find the original quote but it's mentioned in an old archived thread from 2005 (which goes to illustrate just how long "content overload" has been an ongoing issue in SL).  As Ventrella Linden put it at the time...
