are there any free places where I can ride boats and horses. I went to to horse places but when I tride to ride the horses the HUD flashed off and the horse threw me off so I couldn't ride them. I went to a diving place but there was no boat. if no free boat rides is there someplace I can buy a kayak or rent it and go on the water? Any recommendations for places that are beginner friendly would be welcome. A lot of places are too complicated and I can't figure out what to do.

If you are looking to sail a boat LL have provided one at Emin Marina (Emin) you sit on it and use your movement keys to get around if you go north you can get as far as Gaeta v or go south to Blake Sea and Satori the boat will stay rezzed and keep you on it as long as region crossings are good. If you want a Kayak What Next has a very good wearable one for sale

This is a photogenic forest area of about 10 sims you can ride a horse..https://secondlife.com/destination/calas-galadhon

As far as i know, there is horses to ride (for free) on there too.

Not sure about boats though,  but blake sea might be worth a look.

Edit... Just found this horse riding place in the inworld search..

There are several free boats on Second Life Marketplace - take a look at this store:

https://marketplace.secondlife.com/stores/22448?search%5Bcategory_id%5D=96&search%5Bmaturity%5D=General&search%5Bpage%5D=1&search%5Bper_page%5D=96&search%5Bsort%5D=price_asc&search%5Bstore_id%5D=22448

You will need to find a rez zone to use the boats.  Around the coast of Bellisseria is a good place to sail, as it’s protected water so you won’t keep running into ban lines or other obstacles.  There are lots of rez zones around Bellisseria’s coast - here are a few of them:

As for horse riding, Ville de Coeur is a nice place to ride.  There are 8 sims to explore, and they have a free horse rezzer for you to use:

(Don't forget to detach or turn of your animation overrider before riding a horse or any sort of vehicle 😉)

Happy travels! 😊

I think there are free starter avatars with a rideable horse provided by the Lindens. You can find them in your library folder in your inventory. You don’t have to use the entire starter avatar. Just use the horse and you can ride it all over the place.

The horse and the included AO. It won't work without the AO.

There are free boats at Lili's Yard - Second Life Marketplace - Lili's Yard by LiliSquibb  not the most modern but I like them.

The part about having the hud flash and throw you off may mean that you need to join a group so that you can use scripts.

Evergarden Equestrian has a jumping parkour, trails and free courses (featuring Teegle horses):

http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Gooseberry Meadows/66/170/24

It's situated at Gooseberry Estates, which overall has a vast network of trails and waterways with several Teegle horse and small boat rezzers that are free to use:

(And an insider source just told me that three shiny new sims regions will be added, and one existing open sim will be upgraded to a homestead by the end of the week.)

I tried Gooseberry but I got kicked out after 20 seconds said I was not allowed, Evergarden I had same issue, I click Ride the HUD appeared but I am either standing on the horse or it throws me off and I cannot rhide it. I ask someone else to try and they had same issue. Maybe we have to buy a saddle or something? I didn't see a sign for group signup there.

I finally saw in the corner something said you are not the owner of this horse at Ville de Coeur so I think maybe it is not possible to ride a horse unless you pay them to keep it there?

Click on the horse that's tied to the post, and a menu will pop up on your screen asking you to select a horse.  Pick one, and the horse will appear in front of you, and you will automatically sit on the horse.  It's totally free.
