I didn't have a premium account, so I made one. She suggested I change my name too, since I can't stand Bagnu. Now it's SandorWren!!! The gathering was in Bay City, so Cinny said we should go in vintage outfits. She didn't think this one was "June Cleaver-y" enough, so she picked another one. June DID wear this type of outfit, but not at home. Cinny has a great sense of fun, so she suddenly put on a few things that are definitely "something different" LOL!!! I thought you looked really familiar, and I wondered where Bagnu went. Congrats on the name change, you've always been more of a Sandor anyway, IMO. It fits. 2

I have always hated it. Sandor ( pronounced Shandor ) is an expression of my Hungarian background!!! I know that in several alphabets, there's no letter S, only a letter for the Sh sound. And in many languages that can be written with the latin alphabet, the letter S is pronounced as Sh, as well. Some, like Semitic "abjad-type" alphabets, have both. Oddly, modern Hebrew uses the Sh letter with dots to indicate whether to pronounce it S or Sh, despite the same alphabet already having a letter S that's pronounced like an S. It baffles me. Hungarian is particularly interesting, because they have like, 12 different verb cases, instead of only 6 or 7 like some other related languages. Kind of to be expected though, because the Hungarian empire was kind of the seat of civilization for that whole region at one time (it used to include what are now several distinct and rather well-known countries), and would naturally have more sophisticated grammar than people who lived off in the mountains or along the rivers in the more rural areas, and spoke simpler dialects. I can handle a few different Slavic languages, but Hungarian is serious business. Oh, also, I have pics I was going to post before I got all language-ified in the forumbrain. Working on my little freebie outlet, or staring at it, anyway. It's hard to come up with ideas for how to flash it all out better, because it's mine, and I tend to neglect it in favor of other people's stuff and projects. I definitely want to pack more stuff onto the Wall o' Freebies, maybe expand it some. Edited August 2 by PheebyKatz 9
Carolyn Zapedzki
I played with the mobile app a little more today, did some TP's, that all worked fine and no issues with things rezzing correctly, took a pic of other avs to see how they load and that was fine too. (though the position they stood in was not the same as I sore them, they were supposed to be facing me) But then I tried to message someone, and that just froze everything, left it 5 mins but still the same, so that part is not so good. In Hungarian, the letter "S", has a hidden h. To pronounce the English equivalent of "S", it's written as "Sz". Sandor translates as Alexander BTW. Fun fact: in Hungarian, there is no equivalent to the English "Th" sound. My parents never could pronounce it.

There are theories about it being related to the Sumerian and Scythian languages as well. It's hard to sort through what's real and what isn't, because it's been affected by politics. Hungarian was originally written in "runes". My Sandor AV has the word "Vagyok" tattooed on his arm, written in old Hungarian runes. It means "I AM".

Ceka Cianci
I was just putting some animations in my boat this morning and playing with the different viewer modes that come with firestorm and noticed, just how wild the water is from my boat.. hehehe It's like fantasy water or something.. I just felt like diving in and swimming in it.. hehehe I love that PBR is exciting me to do more than just hang at some other beach and really spend time at my own beach just trying different things and enjoying my own land more. Also, last weekend I redid the terrain some and added more texture to the sculpties that cover my land, plus used material layers in them as well. So it really has more of a depth to the texture in the sand as well. I'm just having fun is all hehehe This is my water off shore of my land while i was playing with my boat and the viewer things.. This is my current mesh beach which shows a lot of mesh texture in the sand, which I was wanting for my land from the edge of the beach back, but it was pretty flat.. Also that house is the first PBR house I got from Scarlet Creative, which I love, but really fell in love with the one I found last week.. that one is in the next picture after this one. hehehe This is my land now after adding the material layers into the sculpty pieces I made to cover my land so that I could texture my land, since I don't have a full sim and had to find another way to do that.. I love the JVTek Landmap sculpty tool to death!! \o/ Anyways, I think this image shows just how much it molds to the land.. I just went a little crazy and left little dips and spots in the land to get the flatness of things out of there, then the material layers add to that as well.. It's not the best lighting to show off the whole area, but just wanted something to grab light and shadow to show off the Materials in the texture of the land .. For me it's such an improvement and I'm hoping Skye has PBR textures that I can get to make it even more detailed. You can see the edge of the Skye mesh beach line where it ends, just a tiny bit above my bikini bottoms Ties. Then my sculpty sand goes from that line all the way back.. I'm gonna add another pic below this one to show more of it.. I also forgot that I am in mid graphics settings but didn't realize it until after I took all the newer pictures.. But they are all in PBR lighting and I think That is one thing that PBR brings to the game. Things looking better in even the much less heavy graphics settings..Once they are set up anyways. I just grabbed a different lighting to show the texture details more, plus to show how the tool works when It shapes to the land.. I need to redo some spots to get rid of the sharp edges where I didn't smooth things when terraforming..Also I have to redo the textures in my dunes that I put in the front, because they still look really flat also.. This has been fun today.. hehehe

Hungarian was originally written in "runes". My Sandor AV has the word "Vagyok" tattooed on his arm, written in old Hungarian runes. It means "I AM". Yeah I'm pretty sure the Finno-Ugric and the Slavic were much closer farther back. The separation and differences in speech over time were probably due to the slight cultural isolation, the Finns being tucked up at that northern bit for so long. As far as the Scythians go, from what we can tell, they were possibly the ancestors not only of Slavs and Finns, but even a goodly portion of the Indus Valley civilization. They also popularized recreational drug use, and were rumored by many to be the direct ancestors of the Khazars. *shudder* My "universal alphabet" project includes 16 Bulgar runes, and the Old Permic script is pretty obviously derived in large part from per-Christian runic signs. Russian monks used to use it as a code cipher, because non-scholastic types couldn't read it. I will probably never learn Hungarian, at least not to a speakable, fluent degree. Maybe in a few years, when I finally know all my case endings in related languages, it'll be easier. 12 different cases is a bit much, even for me, not having grown up hearing it.

Then the club got packed and all of it was like, why did I even bother.. LOL Like two weeks of work getting ready for a club opening that all my choreography went right out the window the moment we started.. I was so shattered that I just never did it ever again.. LOL I was such an emotional drama queen that whole rest of the night that I ended up just logging out.. hehehe What a disaster....the nightmare of my dreams! And such a shame if you really enjoy choreography. I think they have better systems now that aren't laggy if you haven't been ruined for life from that experience. Sometimes we've had 40 people on the dance circle without lag (for most people anyway). There's always somebody 'dancing' us via utilizing a certain dance pad where the controls are housed and various dances can be chosen to fit the mood of the song. When I practice alone I'm on the control pad but just choose a kind of auto-dance shuffle and forget about it. My part when I lead the Kirtan @ Shambhala Sanctuary is to choose the music and play it (using my stream) and then providing text for each song (using a speak-easy where I just have to push a button), usually requiring quite a bit of research beforehand to write the text if I'm not so familiar with the topic of the song. And then my particles match the mood or energy. For example, if some soft little lullaby is playing I don't want to manifest explosive fireworks...lol...or conversely, if there's a pounding electronica beat to a song i don't want to manifest floating pink flowers..lol. If you love choreography you might try working with The Spirit Light Dance Company -- they train you to design the dances utilizing some new software that's (supposedly) easy to use. I'm not sure I'll do it...my part in those performances has been pretty minimal as a dancer, yet required quite a bit of time in rehearsals, so might be all I want to do there.
