Sam1 Bellisserian
I have a shoutcast board that needs to be deeded to land before it can work. I've already donated my land to a group which worked but it wouldn't allow the deed to group option no matter what I did. The object won't deed to group. The option is grayed out. What am I doing wrong? I followed the directions but I must be missing a step.
0 Rolig Loon
Does your role in the group allow you to deed objects to the group?
0 Sam1 Bellisserian
Yes, I am the owner of the land and group.
0 Lindal Kidd
If your land is not group owned, but owned by you as an individual, the board should not need to be deeded to the group.
0 MoiraKathleen
Did you try clicking the box for "Share" in the edit menu first? It seems like I had to do that in order to get the "Deed" box un-greyed for an item I wanted to deed to the land group.
0 Sam1 Bellisserian
Ok so this is weird. I did manage to deed a radio to the group but any other object including the shoutcast board won't work. I am doing the exact same thing I did with the radio. 0 Lindal Kidd
I repeat: If your land is owned by Samantha (you personally, that is), NOT by the group Little Big Town - Land Holdings, don't deed objects to group. While you may be able to deed an object to the group, IT WILL NOT WORK PROPERLY. Objects that set the music or media stream on a land parcel must be owned by the owner of that parcel. That is the reason, and the only reason, why you deed TVs, radios, etc. on group-owned land. Edited February 28, 2020 by Lindal Kidd
0 Sam1 Bellisserian
OKKKK. gotcha. It says group owned and I haven't been here that long so excuse me for not understanding. *which I still don't but really never mind.* and the radio didn't work until i deeded it to the group so shrug. I google some more and see if I can find the answer. Edited February 28, 2020 by KateaSL

If it says 'group owned' then you did transfer the land to the group successfully. Is the object you are trying to deed a "Transferable" item? If not, I don't think you can Deed it because that is transferring ownership. And if it is Transferable, as mentioned above, be sure to click the Share box to enable the Deed button. 0 Qie Niangao
Some products come with a transferable satellite component that gets deeded to group while the main product is no-transfer. No idea whether that's the case for this Shoutcast board.
0 Sam1 Bellisserian
Thank you LittleMe Jewell and Qie Niangao. That was very helpful information. I'll check it out and see what the permissions.
0 Lindal Kidd
My apologies if I sounded strident. Your initial post seemed to indicate that ownership was still under your own name. If it says "group owned" then yes, the thing must be deeded. Definitely check out Lil and Qie's suggestions!
