  1. As a side note, anybody heard from, or know what is up with "Apotheus Silverman," aka, Calyle Linden, these days?
  2. It was my forum of choice back in the day...

No, they are just a list of animations that are already on the server, placed by LL, anyone can call them by script and some are by the built-in gestures. The facial animations that are listed in that table are the ones used in the "smilers." They just call that particular animation on an intermittent basis. I have a HUD that will play them all on a button click too.
  4. These are actually built-in animations http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Internal_Animations that can be added by script.
  5. Because it breaks the illusion that all SL faces have been rendered unable to move from too much Botox? I would rather see an occasional smile than a constantly stoic face. Perhaps it would be better to include a couple of other facial movements in the mix. That could get real silly, and real fun. It is about fun ain't it?
  6. You can also flag the item if it is not listed correctly. As stated, this may be an oversight, so contacting the seller is always a good first step. If the misdirection turns out to be intentional, then by all means, flag the item in question. If there is a clear infraction it should become delisted by the MP staff and the seller will have to correct the fault to relist it; in theory at least.
  7. Go and look at one of the related products at the bottom of the page, look at the reviews, and see familiar names come up again. Nothing subtle about this self-promotion.
  8. Just adding payment info to your account does nothing on its own. You must either then transfer a dollar amount to your SL account, or use the payment credentials to purchase Lindens via the Lindex or the viewer.
  9. SL is a platform, upon which you may build a virtual reality, a game, a business, a relationship, a role to play, a playhouse, a social network, an entertainment venue, an advertising network, an art venue, a creative outlet, a charitable organization, etc. In the beginning, though, it is just a platform, until you choose to do something with it.

  11. You just need to rearrange the prims. It looks like one side is more forward than the other. Use your camera controls to move around the build so you see it from all angles. Look at it from the top to align contralateral structures parallel to each other, etc.
  12. You are going to have to describe your "problem" in more absolute terms and detail, or provide a picture, before anyone can know what needs to be done to alleviate the "problem."

  14. Orenthal Philbin wrote: you're going to pitch a 'bitch fit'? Why...it was your fault for joining a group with liabilities checked. If you wanna bitch at someone, start with the image in your mirror You cannot see what the roles are until you join a group, so there is no way to screen beyond asking. Also liabilities are turned on by default and a lot of inexperienced people start a group and don't know to turn them off, and a lot of people get these small charges without noticing. I would complain too, no reason the rank and file should share in the expenses for show in search. Of course it comes back to bite the owners in the butt too if they sell group land with this set and get a surprise when they share the profits with their members.

It was originally implemented by a third party who did not have direct access to the inventory database. So it was actually the only method available at the time it was created.

Look for someone who is just couple days old, wearing nothing but stolen items, ban the person and the noise goes away untill the person get new account. Not sure if it is enough to ban the person from the sim. It might work from over the border. Banning just from one parcel in the same sim dont help for sure. Ah, I have never run across this before, but it does not account for my experience, if it is the same as that of the OP.
  17. Ricky Shaftoe wrote: Yes, that sounds like it. It sounds like UI noises strung together, as if I were repeatedly walking into a wall or something, but at a machine-gun clip. And yes, it seems to correspond to one of the sim performance meters in the "statistics" display. Should I ask LL to reset the sim or something? Alright. Is your sim running one of the RC simulators, such as Blue Steel, Magnum, LeTigre or Snack? This can be found in Help/About. Is it restricted only to a certain parcel. In other words, if you cross a parcel line, even one you own, does it stop? Does it decrease as you go higher in altitude? I have 2 parcels side by side, in a sim running Magnum server version. This has happened only on 1 parcel, the same one each time, and stopped as soon as I leave that parcel, or decreased as I went higher in altitude. It also happened on 1 other parcel in the sim owned by the sim owner which was a public area. I ruled out an attachment, or object or script on the parcel as the cause. It would only happen occasionally. Sometimes logging off and back on would make is stop. I could cross the parcel line back and forth and watch it begin and stop, over and over. Another avatar beside me was unaffected. Strangest thing I have ever seen in SL to date. If we can collaborate symptoms, maybe we can report something to LL.
  18. Ricky Shaftoe wrote: Hi all, For the past couple weeks, my shop (Rickymations) in Hecta has been very noisy. In particular, when I right-click on things, or start an IM, or open a notecard, or edit an object, I hear repeated ping-pings, as if the UI noises are playing over and over again. I get this mostly in my shop, but I notice it on other parcels in the sim too. It's not just me; a friend hears the same thing. On the other hand, in some spots on the sim (like a nearby club) I don't hear this. And customers at my shop mostly say they don't hear it. Any suggestions on what it might be? By chance, does the sim ping go up really high when this happens, and things become very laggy? If so, I have had this happen, and the sounds you describe are close to what I would hear, which is as if the sounds upon clicks, etc., are echoing very quickly several times in a row.

  20. Kelethus wrote: Also, my order history only has two things in it... I did most of my buying in-game. There are 2 separate histories, one for the Market Place, and one on your Second Life Dashboard that will contain Market Place transactions as well as in-world transactions. From this statement it appears you were only looking at the Market Place history.

Bots that are being used as models are supposed to be registered as scripted agents so they don't contribute to traffic generation. They are not usually hidden away under ground or up in a sky box either. Apples and oranges.

I believe you need to use the browse option to see all possible subcategories instead of search. It is discussed in this post: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Merchants/2-times-removed-items-for-false-flagging/m-p/941699/message-uid/941699#U941699 If there is a subcategory which fits your product, not being in that category is enough to have it pulled.
  24. Perhaps your alt is not age verified, and you are trying to enter Adult rated areas?
  25. Rezzing it is the least of your problems. Where are you going to park it? I would not get too excited about sim crossings either.
