I tried suggesting something like this in another thread. It got shot down in flames. I still think it is the best way to go. A small continent, maybe, dedicated to preservation of builds that rotates the builds periodically. Maybe bi-annually rather than quarterly. That would give more opportunity to tour the builds for more people and be easier on the workload of the Moles. Or whoever would be doing the rotating.

I dunno about you but I could use the $25 a month to plow right back into SL...

I am left handed and the answers lie in the past, in how left handed people were treated (and why). Part of it has to do with eating and which hand you wipe with. Wiping with the same hand you eat with was one of the things considered taboo. Offensive? Think of how us left handers felt whenever we were attacked for using our left hands since most people are right handed and use the left for wiping. There's a whole lot more where that came from. If you want to know the truth you can do the research yourself. Even today, centuries later, left handed people are ostracized for being left handed. I figured out how this happens finally... look at where your cursor is sitting when it happens. If it's hovering over anything in the dropdown that's what it will select when you hit enter so move your mouse first. Works like a charm.

I beg to differ. I don't believe they ever do discover reality. If they did, we'd all live in a much better world. Not perfect, mind you, just better. Much better, imo. The needs of the many outweigh the desires of the few.

I find that to be the case far more often in SL than I should. The group of people who wants SL to be as much like RL as possible have no idea what they are really asking for. And they are getting it. Much to my own disappointment. Including the money (greed) driven [global] society.

Some of us happen to be left handed so we do things differently. I've never been comfortable using the WASD keys for movement, nor has the mouse ever felt "right" in my left hand. It's matter of personal preference and what works for the individual.

None of my TPs have failed since they fixed things the last time and I've never had to turn wireframe on to get things to load. Not in 15 years. I do have my caches maxed so that may be the difference.

I haven't experienced any of those things. Not since the last time TPs were borked so badly. In the months since then I've gotten logged out twice. The last time was about 3 days ago when something went wrong with the region I was on and it kicked me out and forced me to relog into one of those damn hubs that are always over crowded. Doesn't matter if you are driving, flying or riding. Trying to cross a sim line at high speed is going to have problems.

Not in SL. In some games I have no choice though. Which doesn't make me happy as I prefer the arrow keys. And yes I know I can configure to my liking. Not going to happen. I learn to play games using the defaults and only tweak when needed to improve performance, never to try to give myself advantages over other players.

First mention of homesteads is in this sentence. The sentence says nothing about prim count or LI nor does it say the OP is renting a homestead.

It's fine to want to help a friend and you can do so by providing him/her with links and information. What you can't do is take care of the situation for your friend. They have to do that for themselves. LL has to remain in compliance with California and US privacy laws.

I created this account August 31, 2005. My main was created the year before. Both are "heritage". Vanity used to refer to the last names people paid LL extra for and were limited to a select few. Rather like how the name Linden is limited to LL employees only.

My post didn't have anything to do with popularity yet everything to do with biased favoritism. Giving preferential treatment to someone simply because you don't like someone else, regardless of quality, talent, etc.

Sounds more like the residents playing favorites with the sims/regions they want to keep in SL. No one wants their region/sim/parcel/land to live or die on the whims of strangers.

I must have missed seeing that part about it being a homestead. I used to have one and I did have a few rentals. But that was way before they upped prim count/LI. It's still in my Picks and on the grid, too. lol ETA: I went back and looked. I didn't see where anyone mentioned homesteads until you did Lindal. Would you mind pointing me to it? Please.

Are people really that desperate for something different to eat?
