  1. This! I do not understand why they didn't just make the Grandview able to rotate 4 ways so that it could take advantage of wherever the water happens to be. I gave up a lot of very nice parcels that had decent sized water along them but could not be seen at all from the house from any angle. So what was the point?
  2. I'll go back through my landmarks and see if I can figure it out. I did name it - so probably will be able to.
  3. I'd landed several that were way at the top of hillsides, overlooking everything below that really had grand sweeping views. One I was going to keep because it looked like a painting, river winding below me, a house with horses in the yard, so bucolic. Then one day I rezzed in and the house w/the horses had moved on and the new person had put up cheap sculpted landscaping and what not and UGH. So I abandoned it. That's the one problem with being up high. But other than that, it was pretty idyliic.
  4. Interesting. However for me personally, my alts have nothing to do with the decorating style of their homes. Each home I decorate is based solely on what I, myself, want to achieve in the decor style for that specific house and the surrounding land. It's not based on the alt. For instance one of my alts is a male but I don't make his house masculine. Another is a martian but her home isn't science fiction based. Another, started as a furry but her homes were never animal havens etc. All are a reflection of my personal style but none will be out of the style which I enjoy just because my alt is something "other than". But that's just me 😃 I suppose if I was roleplaying, that would be different.
  5. Heart also - caveat being her packs are pricey but they are really beautiful in appearance. Also, you get several sizes and shapes of each type of the plant you buy, which will range in prims from 1 to around 7 each and they are modify so you can stretch a 7 prim down quite a bit and vice versa if you need a particular shape for a space. I especially like the wild dog rose pack. I second many of the above mentioned already. Studio Skye is one of my standbys - lots of the packs come with 1 prim items; hosta, ferns, various flowers and bushes and all are very good looking. Two Moon Garden is another one which is good for ripping apart - but I'd use the plantings more for background fill-in not up close use although the paths, benches, fountains and such are pretty decent and most fairly low prim once ripped. Others: Kidd, HPMD, Little Branch (some are too primmy but many aren't) and Botanical.
  6. Hahaha just clicked on a houseboat by mistake on my main but it's a really nice spot in Lapiz, west facing at front of boat (my highest criteria), open water access, cute little beach area in front of it and end of the line of the pier. Keeping. Will toss my other one which is darn nice also but I like this a tad better 👍 Going to give the Wallower a try this time around - haven't played with that one yet.
  7. I'm about to release a river front (front of house) in Thunderation. It's a really lovely lot and neighborhood. I just don't need it as I've gotten 2 perfect places in the past 24 hours and still have my 1st one which has rather grand river views from the back. I know it's probably impossible to land this one being there are so many log homes available but, I'll be hitting abandon at 7:30pm slt if anyone wants to give it a go. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Thunderation/238/207/51
  8. Gorgeous spot too! I'm slowly transitioning pieces from other houses to this one 🙂 Thank you for letting me know about the rez area. That could come in handy at some point.
  9. Oh wow, I have that kit already, totally forgot about it. I bought it for my main home (I share a rented homestead with my partner also) and ripped it apart to use bits and pieces also. The problem was when you take it apart, nothing had names it was all numbered object names which made nuts. Going through each piece afterward trying to figure out what was what made me throw up my hands finally. I did use a few that I renamed in the Linden House I was given for the cancer event (I recall a small wall fountain?) and a few of landscaping flowers are really nice and low prim. I have another one of their set-ups (maybe 2?) and the flowers in them are quite different than many I've seen elsewhere so overall well worth the purchase for me personally. I'm a flower hoarder. I always start my homes outside first, and deal with the inside afterwards. I like making the neighborhood pretty ❤️
  10. This is fantastic, really well thought out. I've been slowly doing the same, their gardens were certainly orderly but well run with flowers so I'm walking a fine line of prim usage right now. I keep putting down objects, picking them up when I find ones in my inventory with less land impact. Slow going but I'll get there!
  11. First, I need to give a huge thank you to @PrudenceAnton for using my photo as the first one in the upcoming 1st anniversary video. I can't even begin to say how much this means to me ❤️ I tend to be a loner in SL, more of a wanderer. I join into group events occasionally but most of the time I'm doing my own thing and that means photographing a lot of Bellisseria in my travels. For me, moving into this continent came as a surprising joy. , I feel truly "at home" living there. It's the views that get me - These are the memories which are most precious to me. My first home was a houseboat. It felt challenging to me to decorate. But what I didn't know was how much that type of home would wind up being so close to my heart. For instance, when I moved into my first houseboat in Isthill (the one on the left), I was walking around with some random Windlight I'd clicked on. It suddenly struck me how the region looked like a fog was lifting over it. Isthill is a very small area, I almost never saw people there other than my neighbor on the right (who was warm and friendly in the kind of way you hope for). I loved living here; it had killer views and access to open waters for sailing, which I'd never experienced for myself in SL before. I finally gave this one up for another location only because I preferred the boat to face a different direction (which I got, with equally good views and access). I love all of the Belli homes but the Houseboats give me a sense of peace. If only I could find this in the real world!
  12. OMG I had no idea Honeyyard had been released and my oldest alt got this! The brown house, surrounded by water, end of sim, with the little island attached from the next region! /dying! Tossing back several other homes now because this is my keeper!
  13. Diidn't know where to put this so, here it is. I purchased an item on the marketplace and gave it a rather meh review. However since then the creator has been in touch with me, and we've communicated quite nicely and she was very responsive to my comments of the product so much so that she completely revised and fixed it within a day. Really great response from her. The product is now really good and I'm very happy with it. I'd love to be able to revise the review and mention what great service she provided but see now way to do this. She did respond to my review so I could just comment back to her there, but I'd prefer to bump up the stars too. Advice?
  14. Ahh ok. I bought an add on for the Grandview and thought it would be easier if I could just apply the color to match. So, does that mean we can tint the exterior to our liking? that would be fantastic
  15. Is it me or does there seem to be a lot of missing textures in the log home folder?
  16. Well, thank you to whomever gave up the fabulous, beautiful Vic parcel in Banebury sitting on the river bank. What a magnificent scene up and down that waterway! with a view of one of the bridges no less. And, from the front there's a huge mountain vista, which has the railroad on the other side of it as I found out. I clicked on a Vic for s--ts and giggles since I was so bored with the log homes this weekend. So pleasantly surprised. Gave up one of my favorite other Vics for this one since I'd been hoping to get one that had a backyard this good for a long time. Then, went and clicked on a log home anyway on my main because I needed a texture pack 😛 Still not impressed with the house though. Tomorrow is another day for all of my alter egos!
  17. Thank you! I didn't realize on a Sunday that they were available. Good thing none of them made my heart sing lol. I would have been really annoyed if I'd given any up because of that! But at least now I know. 2 of the alts 24 hour period is almost up so if I get something I like and run into any trouble with them and the Lab is still open I'll give them a call.
  18. IDK about anyone else, but I've been rather disappointed this weekend in the offerings even with all the new region releases. Many seem to be clones and, I keep getting homes rezzing on top of other houses, making them impossible to move into. I had 3 alts to play with this weekend so that's 15 tries plus/minus since Friday that I tossed back. Meh. EDIT: Not completely complaining. I have properties already that I like. One is on a lake with very good views and another, on a lake bordering an SSP region but for sure will remain on the lake, also one side is on a stream and another side has a small pond so that's a keeper. And one more with a tiny pond, cute, not a big deal but I like the neighborhood appearance overall, does not seem like one of the cloned areas at all. In fact that's the house I moved into already and have pretty much finished decorating. Something about it makes me feel good, can't put my finger on it.
  19. I'm very puzzled why only one of the homes was designed with a back door. It's very odd. So, I want add ons which make it easy to get around the house to utilize the backyard via the house itself which I guess translates to wrap-around decks.
  20. I had just seen that on Flickr and thought it was so lovely but didn't notice it was your shot! Well done!
