  1. Dear LL, Thank you very much for fixing the SL profile feeds. It seems mostly stable, now, and is certainly way improved from the state it was in a few weeks ago. In my experience, posting photos to the feed is very reliable, now, and the SL feed community is active, again -- maybe even more so than it was before the feed started having problems. Thank you, again, for your attention to this.
  2. I'm excited about Windlights, too. I have bunches of Windlights I've developed; it would be nice to be able to trade them easily with people.
  3. Dillon, thanks for the lovely post. <3
  4. I guess their working on it, Drake. I like to think so, anyway. The feed has gone from completely unusable for all to unusable for some and unreliable for most. So some progress, but it brings us back to my original point - How about a little explanation? What's going on? I want to believe they'll get it fixed and soon. I also want to believe everyone I like won't die in GoT. PS It's broken for me, today, too.
  5. Ugh. I'm sorry, Morgan. Well, at least it seems it's being worked on. Maybe it will be good for everyone, soon.
  6. Hi, Alexa. The feed is incredibly responsive and reliable, now. I was overloading it with photos, today. They all posted and very fast, too. Thank you!!!
  7. My pleasure. it is an awesome HUD. Have fun sneezing! hehe
  8. I wasn't able to post a photo, today, but I'm happy you're working on it. Thank you so much, Alexa. <3
  9. Something is definitely going on. I'm getting photos on my feed, now, that had "failed." It's a very encouraging sign. Thank you, LL, for looking into this.
  10. I've been here since oct 25, 2010, Tari. I found SL frustrating and confusing at first, but I'm pretty social and SL is very social, too. I met some nice people who helped me out and I made it through the initial rough patch. I've been here ever since. I love it.
  11. Very positive message and sentiment. Thank you, Vick. I got 99+ notifications, too. I was happy to see any sign of progress.
  12. Hi, Aspen. Some people seem to have found a way get bento to work with most of the old furniture animation. I have a bento animation HUD from Happy Dispatch. If I have it on, my bento head (lelutka) works with about 70% of the furniture animations out there. It's 600L. not too expensive. The sneeze animation alone is probably worth 600L
  13. What are the official statistics on feed usage? Do you know, Tari? I'd say at least 15% of my friends use it regularly. That's just my friends, so I have no idea of the actual percentages. But I think it's significant enough that they should be fixing it as soon as possible. While you might be satisfied with the fact that they're working on it, your opinion might be colored by your usage. If you don't use the feed, it's not valuable to you. It's valuable to me. As a frequent user of the profile feeds, I believe I've been very patient. This problem has dragged on for weeks and has gotten worse over time. After months, I'd like to know what's happening. I don't think that's unreasonable.
  14. If you're curious, I use it - used it - to post photos and keep track of what my friends are up to, plus I'd follow people who were outside my circle of friends. Including the Russian cliques. The feed has a lot of benefits for me. For instance, I like reading some of the SL blogs. It is (was) actually a lot easier to follow them through the SL feed than to follow them through WP or blogger or whatever and have to check my email. Many of the bloggers I follow post (posted) to the feed - e.g. Strawberry Singh and Ziki Questi. Plus it was a great way to follow photographers I wasn't friends with and weren't on Flickr. A lot of people post (posted) their images to the feed who aren't on Flickr. I get that it's not useful for everyone, but for me - and others - it was a valuable, useful feature that added a welcome social experience to my SL. It's a loss to not have it working. If it ever gets working, again, you should use it more. I'll be sure to follow you.
  15. Thank you, Whirly. I know you work hard on these things. It's greatly appreciated. That's pretty much the same response I got on the JiRA I submitted in June. I'll quote it below: Whirly Fizzle added a comment - 28/Jun/17 11:32 AM Hiya Myra, There's a known problem causing posting snapshots to the profile feed to sometimes fail. There's a bug for this filed at BUG-100516. BUG-100516 has been imported & LL are working on a fix. I have no idea how long until the fix is deployed though. I think the SL feed community has been patient. Do we have a choice? This is a significant problem which has dragged on for months. In effect, we have a feature of SL that is failing/failed but isn't being fixed. However, for months we've been told it's being worked on but the problem has actually gotten worse. We went from occasionally not being able to post photos to not being able to post photos at all and sometimes not even able to write a simple post. Maybe let us know or give us some hint why this is taking so long. It's not a lot to ask for in my opinion. If LL is busy doing other more important things with SL, we can accept that, too. Just say something. (I know you personally are constrained by whoever your boss is and directives from higher ups.) The message "it's being worked on, thank you for your patience," loses it's vigor after a couple of months, though. This isn't directed at you, though, Whirly. You've always seemed to be open and informative, as much as you can. That's greatly appreciated. Maybe go kick your bosses. : ) Thank you for your effort on this.
  16. Thank you so much for letting us know you're aware of the feed and for passing along the link to it. It does mean a lot. While you can't give me "anything beyond that..." it is nice to have a response. Thank you, Tommy.
  17. Tari, what I mean is there's a possibility people who used to work on LL joined the Sansar team. Did they say that didn't happen somewhere? Do we still have the same level of support we did before Sansar development started? I'm actually curious. But all that aside, the feed should have been fixed weeks ago or LL should have informed us why it wasn't getting fixed.
  18. Maybe members of Linden Labs who normally would support SL are working on Sansar, now. We have no way of knowing anything to the contrary unless LL communicates with the community. When an important problem like the feeds goes unresolved for weeks, idle speculation about why it's not getting fixed is perfectly natural if LL doesn't keep their user community informed.
  19. HI, Whirly, looks like I can't view that JIRA. If you can see this comment from Kyle, would you quote it here, please? Please see my comments about communicating with the community. It's an issue that's affecting a lot of people, but we don't know what's going on. I wish you luck fixing the problem. My big issue on this is that it's a problem that's been going on for a long time with little indication from LL about what's happening with it.
  20. I get that, and I'm sure Whirley is great. But, again, to the major issue - lack of communication from LL. The people I've talked to have said nothing more than we know it's a problem, we're working on it. After weeks, months, people need an update. I do. What's going on? Why is the problem taking so long? Defuse community frustration with a little openness.
  21. Thanks, Derek. Seems like everyone there is mostly in the dark, too. I saw a ticket on it, but there weren't any updates on the status when I looked at it. Still I think there needs to be a public message of some sort at this point. Why is this taking so long? What's the problem?
  22. The SL profile feed used to be a very useful way of socializing with SL friends and other people in SL. I, personally, loved to use it to post photos of my day in SL and photos I was working on. A couple of months ago, maybe more, the feed started to fail sometimes - I couldn't post photos. This problem has grown progressively worse. Now, there are long periods of time when I can't post at all. This is systemic problem - lots of people can't post to the feed, now. It's gotten so bad, even message posts don't work, sometimes. I filed a trouble ticket with SL a few weeks ago. I was assured the problem was known and was being worked on. I called tech support, too, and got the same response. And, yet, the problem persists, and in fact seems to be getting worse. I have a few concerns about this: 1. It's been going on for a long time, months. Is it really being worked on? 2. Are all the troubleshooting people working on Sansar? 3. This is actually costing SL. Some people used the SL feed like it was FB. For them, for me, it was an important part of their SL experience. Those people aren't as active in SL, anymore. 4. Why hasn't there been a public statement about this? I'm not sure what good it will do to post to the forum after submitting a ticket and registering a complaint with the tech line, but here I am. I loved using the feed, but now it's unusable. Dear LL, please keep your community updated on the status of significant problems that affect their SL experience. Please, would you let us know what's going on? Why is it taking so long to fix it?
  23. Hi, Live. : ) I was just going to post to the forums about the Profile Feeds, and saw this message. So in one sense, the demise of the profile feeds has brought me back to the forums - to complain. I hope they fix the feeds, soon, but I don't have any hope of it - it's been a continuing problem for months. Sadly, I think LL has been too focused on Sansar and "insignificant" problems like the existing user community's profile feeds have been shunted aside. At the very least, it would be nice to have a public statement from SL telling us what was going on.
  24. haha clever, Marianne. @skell, I think Rhiannon is suppose to be a fantasy figure, as you've suggested. The avatar is not at home on Downton Abbey. She's a fantasy character, and I can't think of a single female character in fantasy fiction who rides side saddle. Xena, Daenerys (Really, every woman in GoT from what I recall.), Legertha, Wonder Woman, Eowyn... There's probably someone, but women in fantasy (and in modern life) ride astride. Maybe make a Downton Abbey type character (which I would love, too). That's fine. She* can ride side saddle. But I'd still want the option to ride astride.
