  1. Your soothing presence is appreciated. Most of us are in stage 3 withdrawal by now.
  2. I'm playing my dj set through my stream. I wonder if anyone's even in the club. : )
  3. Hi, Yokasta. It seems to be working okay for me. Try it, again.
  4. Just in case you're not subscribed to the maintenance report, I wanted to let people know the feed is back up. Thank you, LL.
  5. Not everyone knows you can subscribe to an incident to get status updates. It was nice of you to post that info. People who use the feed regularly are concerned about this (There are more than you might realize if you don't use it.) and are looking to share info with the rest of us who use the service. The status report from LL does not currently provide any sense of what's going on, which can be frustrating. Notice, for instance, that Voice Morphing has updates informing the community that the problem is being worked. There are no updates regarding my.secondlife despite it being down for more than 3 days, now. I think it's fine if people want to update this post, since I'm the OP. I have no problem with it. It's nice to know others are concerned about the sl feed. At least we can commiserate about missing it.
  6. Looks like the SL Profile feed is broken, again. Can't post photos or enlarge ones that are already there. I submitted a support ticket about it. I don't really have a question. I'm just posting hoping it will come to the attention of the right people.
  7. Hi, Estella. First, the bottom photo you posted is almost certainly photoshopped, so it's not a good representation of the lighting and effects you can get in sl. However, you can get some very realistic looks, but there are a lot of factors that go into how you look in sl. Here's a little list of settings that will help. These are going to be dependent on your computer, of course: Enable Advanced Lighting Model. Enable all local lights. Turn on Ambient Occlusion. It softens the edges of the shadows and does a few more things. Set your resolution to Outstanding. (It's a FS setting. Not sure if it's the same in the Linden viewer.). If you can walk around with Lifelike, even better. Set your Anti-Aliasing t0 16x Those are just to get you started. You could also turn on your Depth of Field, but that's going to put some more pressure on your graphics. If you have a newish system, you'll probably be fine. There are other settings, but that's my getting started list. If anyone else has any suggestions, weigh on in. : ) Now, about windlights. Most of them are a bit too extreme or don't have decent shadows or the colors don't belong on this planet. I make almost all of mine. However, there are a few nice ones that might work for you: (SS) Atmospheric 06:00 b Nice, dusk windlight. The shadows could be better, but the light is good. (SS) Atmos 07:00 1 and 0:800 1 Both nice, and nice enough shadows. Again, nice dusk time light. AvatarOpt. There's one called Analuletia AvatarOpt -- that one's not too good. Fineday Papersnow is nice, but you have to change the time of day on it to get it to look nice. I like it around 9 am. Raymond's Bright and Hazy Day and Raymond's Brighter Day That should get you started on windlights. At the very least, play with the time of day. That can make a huge difference in the look of the windlight. If you edit a windlight, remember time of day controls the height of the sun in the sky, so it controls the length of your shadows. Est angle controls the angle of the sun (or moon) relative to the horizon, essentially control the angle of your shadows. Feel free to im me in world. All of my flickr photos are done in-world without photoshopping: https://www.flickr.com/photos/myrawildmist/
  8. I finally got in. hope everyone else has the same success. ❤️
  9. Me, too, Phoenix. : ( I'm trying to log... over and over.
  10. So I come back from a weekend away and SL is broken. : /
  11. You might want to look at Windlights. You can completely change the color of a scene by changing the color of the light. Here are some samples from my feed, all done in sl with windlights (no post-processing): Red: https://www.flickr.com/photos/myrawildmist/26167300879/in/dateposted/ Blue: https://www.flickr.com/photos/myrawildmist/39960269592/in/dateposted/ Green: https://www.flickr.com/photos/myrawildmist/30343814805/in/dateposted/
  12. There have been a few attempts to start a group like this. In my experience, the groups have faded or just ended up as group of friends. I think it's a great idea. It just would need someone to keep it going and focused, plus keep it accessible to the entire SL photographer community. It can be done, but would need someone committed to making it work.
  13. It's well composed. Nice colors. Nice pose. I like the view. Really great first photo. Kudos. You can fix the feet by adjusting the hover height. Once you start using PhotoTools, your photography will get better and better. Good luck. If you have any questions, feel free to im me.
  14. Ahhh. I see. @Whirly Fizzle thanks for submitting a JIRA. : )
  15. Or just use this one: https://my.secondlife.com/myra.wildmist The More button has always been a little buggy, but it's something that can be lived with. It's doesn't break usability like when the photos stop posting.
  16. Yep, looks like it's working, again. that's good. : )
  17. Looks like the SL profile feeds are down, again. I've contacted support and am on my way to file a JIRA, but if someone at LL sees this post, please kick the feeds and get them working, again. Thank you.
  18. I'm Myra. I'm a photographer among other things. I specialize in photos taken exclusively in SL without any post processing. Why? Because I'm trying to demonstrate we can get great photos in SL, now, without post processing, but also because I suck at PS. : ) This is my flickr feed: https://www.flickr.com/photos/myrawildmist/ I have a show at the LA Club Gallery that's ongoing, right now. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Amaro/253/165/23 I also write photography and art articles for Kultivate magazine: https://kultivatemagazine.com/author/myrawild/ I stop in on these forums, sometimes, but rarely see anything related to photography. I'm always happy to help other photographers or artists.
  19. Hi, Arielle. Firestorm is probably best for taking photos, because of the FS Phototools. Phototools gives you easy access to Windlights, DoF, and graphics quality settings, plus a wealth of various other features to enhance your photos. I take photos all the time, and they're all done using the FS tools, nothing else. You can see some on my flickr feed: https://www.flickr.com/photos/myrawildmist/ imho, FS is the best. It can take while, a long while, to learn the FS Phototools, but it's worth it.
