How do I use bookmarks? Bookmarks allow you to list community content on a special page so you can easily find it again. To bookmark a piece of content: Go to the item you want to bookmark. You can bookmark a forum, blog article, specific post, or any other location in the community. To bookmark a location, choose Options > Bookmark this .... To view and manage your bookmarks: Click My Settings. Click the Subscriptions & Bookmarks tab. Click Bookmarks. You can click a bookmark to go to the item. np i do love my phoenix, but in this case i agree with you, that "feature" is a stupid drama magnet.

storm gave a great answer. if you do decide to remove people without letting them know first there could be a chance they will im you seconds after you remove them if they are online and happen to use the phoenix viewer. phoenix sends the other person a notification when someone defriends them. (only if they are online) just be prepared. but perhaps they won't do it at all. in the end it's your friends list. oh, i love your signature! "does this count as annoying...?"

in phoenix at least, perhaps other tpvs as well, you get a notification if the person is online at the time of defriending.

check your e-mail. you should have gotten an e-mail with some info and a slurl to your new linden home. it is also listed under land on your dashboard i believe. dashboard - land manager - my mainland

i experience the same as mentioned by suella and irene and others re the comments function. we had a thread just yesterday that i am sure could have been solved quicker had we not had the comments messing things up. the op supplied additional info in the comments and other posters arriving later wanting to help did not see or read the comments and that resulted in so much back and forth that i myself got a headache trying to make sense of it all and decide on how to response to the op in order to help as much as possible that i walked away from the thread. i would not be sad to see the comments function disappear and give answers the same layout as the rest of the forums. i am also frustrated by the "sort by" not working as it should. i have my prefs set to show oldest too but still have to set it again in every single thread. why is this an option in answers but not the rest of the forum? and if i follow a link to a post from someones profile i have to click again "view entire topic" to get more than just the op and the person's post which link i followed. (hmmm, did that make sense) click click click... this starts to feel like v2 testing kudos... will kudos be added to answers? if so, the sorting will be a bigger mess. in the test board where membertester and raymond linden posted to test the kudos last night i only have the option to sort by most/least kudos and newest? color me confused. or blonde - if there is something very obvious i am missing here other than this - i think this forum has potential. i will probably post more feedback as i start using it more. i am happy to see it all back! nice work, lindens

yes you can change it. follow the directions cinnamon already gave you. "To change it, go to My Settings at the top right of the page." then go to "avatars".

i was at my friends' club once when this lady started shouting nearby. she had gotten lost inside some builds or rocks or something and was really distressed. i was in a helpful mood so i offered her a tp to where i was. (otherwise i would have sent her a landmark to some dodgy place :smileyvery-happy: (not that i have such landmarks...:smileytongue:)) when she arrived at my location she started making fun of the height of my avatar etc (i'm short). if you don't choose any of the other starter avatars shown to you on the sign up page you get the default one. but no you don't have to start over there are more in the library folder in your inventory that you can try out or you can shop for whole avatars or avatar components (shape, skin, hair, clothes etc) or make some yourself, it's fun welcome to second life \o/

your avatar is ghosted (system didn't log you out properly and thinks you are still online). this happens to everyone, just have a look around the forum have a read at marigold's ghosting tips here: http://blogs.secondlife.com/message/424221#424221 esp. perhaps the d.i.y. method, it's possibly quicker than the ticket route and more fun i guess, i have never seen a ghost merge before good luck and let us know how it goes!

short term and long term users? that's the first time i have heard that, but then again i haven't read the entire wiki (yet) but the "last name" resident is permanent either way. at least until the lab people decide they want to call us something else you do have the option to use a display name. this way you can set any name for yourself that you like (within certain rules). but not everyone may see it as they have chosen not to show display names as they are veryvery evol http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Display_Names

http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Clear_Cache your transaction history is available from your dashboard - account - transaction history. it is only kept for 30 days, so i advise to download on a regular basis, at least for the future, it doesn't sound as this is familiar to you. for purchases on the marketplace, (while logged in) go to my marketplace - my account - order history. you will find every single marketplace purchase here and if you, after clearing the cache, still cannot locate some items you can try explaining what happened to the merchant and ask for a redelivery and replace them this way. let us know how it goes.
