  1. ouch. that looks like the old ruth skin. i would clear cache and/or reset my avatar (advanced - character - character tests - test male/female) and then try putting myself back together again. hope you find yourself again
  2. it was introduced last week as an effort to stop the charming spam bots.
  3. as far as i know, and i have looked as well, this is not possible atm i am missing it. big time
  4. looks like you have enabled "view property lines". go to world - show - property lines (i think, looks like you are on viewer 2) and uncheck it. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Viewer_2_Moves#Property_Lines
  5. not sure what is happening for you when you get the "unexpected error" message, but i have also gotten the "missing token" message. i also use firefox and when i ar the spam what i do is open https://blogs.secondlife.com/thread and open the spam threads in background tabs, like, 10 at a time, and go through them one by one. hit "report abuse", wait for the form to load, choose "spam", hit "report abuse" and while that form loads i scroll to next tab and do the same there. what i discovered is that if i load the abuse form in the next tab before the previous has prosessed i get the "missing token" error message. so i have to wait until the previous has prosessed before i hit next abuse form. if that made any sense. i have no clue what a token is, tho... but. hmm, du you have javascript enabled? does the rest of the forum work for you?
  6. glad to hear that part of your trouble is sorted out. you're welcome do you still have a problem with not receiving payments for items sold? if so, can you give some more info?
  7. i do not have an answer for your first question, sorry, but for the second one - when an item shows as unavailable the first thing i would do is to verify that the item is still in the magic box. check your magic box to see if it's still there and that it has not been renamed.
  8. yes, i suppose it is a bit of a wait. you're welcome.
  9. assuming your credit card is not declined it will take up to 45 days. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:How_long_does_it_take_to_get_the_L$1000_bonus_after_I_sign_up_for_a_Premium_account%3F
  10. i have been wondering about this myself but haven't been able to find any solution. thank you suella for the jira link. voted \o
  11. you're welcome =) about your lag issues - i would suggest you start a new thread (as this is marked as answered) and include as much technical information about your system and network as you can and also what viewer(s) you use/experience the issue in. torley posted how to get system info here: http://blogs.secondlife.com/thread/37512
  12. sounds to me like you activated the consoles. is easy to accidentaly do with the shortcuts (ctrl+shift+somenumber). look under your advanced menu (ctrl+shift+d to activate advanced menu if you haven't already) - consoles - and see if any are checked. uncheck and the text running across your screen should go away. and - clearing (deleting) the cache can be a good thing to do from time to time. but it's done a little different than what you described =)
  13. Faubio.Alter wrote: In the build HUD under textures tab, scroll up the transparency settings to 100% regarding your object. This will make objects invisible. that would make an object invisible, yes. but it will not hide the foot or other parts of the avatar mesh as the op was asking about.
  14. the trick with invisiprim is to hide only the parts that are sticking out. lots and lots of practise is the only advice i can give you there. i myself have made one as a sculpted prim with great success (imported lower avatar mesh w/shoe base set into a 3d program built the prim around the foot.) this way i can make sure it has a perfect fit. for basic invisiprim build - take a look at the link nyll posted. personally i think if you are going to learn how to make shoes you might as well learn using the alpha layers as i am assuming the invisiprim will be a(n ugly) thing of the past very soon. i can't find the link right now but i know there are some templates somewhere which allow you to presisely apply the alpha mask where you want it. white parts become the invisible area. i will see if i can find them for you. regarding compatibility with other viewers - nyll said it best. up until now i thought they could all rez the alpha mask properly. but, if you want to use invisiprim - check out the link she posted. and practise. a lot. and perhaps also swear a lot too =D edit - added link: here, these are the best (thank you ann otoole for hosting these): http://www.annotoole.com/CMFF/ Message was edited by: bee Baroque - added link
  15. shoes with invisiprims has an extra prim that hides the part of the foot that is sticking out - this prim is called invisiprim (invisible prim). inside this prim an invisible prim script is dropped. but, as you are using viewer 2 (or any other viewer that supports the alpha layer for that matter) an alpha mask would be a better option. this hides part of the avatar mesh completely and you do not get the ugly block like effect on transparent surfaces etc as you will with an invisiprim. i found a great starter set at trin trevellion's store, free and full perm (not for resale) - see it here: http://sindecade.blogspot.com/2010/04/alpha-layer-set-pro.html you can make your own if you have some basic knowledge in a gfx program and templates available.
  16. \o/ it is my pleasure to welcome you to the dark side :-b
  17. latest emerald beta has the "mute gestures" feature \o/ prefs > emerald > page 1 > misc > mute gestures - or via the volume controls, bottom right corner, on top
  18. first thought that comes to my mind is beacons are turned on. scripted objects will be tinted red. never noticed if those settings stick even with a reinstall, but check under view -> beacons (or ctrl+alt+shift+n to toggle - old short cut was ctrl+n)
  19. you need to learn how to use the search function and stop hijacking other peoples threads. basic forum etiquette.
