  1. M'kay- never said you were 'stupid' so do us both a favor and don't pull that again, hmm? No, when you accept it is a "yes until I personally revoke this" - if you forget to revoke it, that is on you. If you do not know, you can be shown that it is revokable and how. If you are to lazy that is on you. If you do not realize what was accepted then why did you accept it in the first place? Avatar attachments work similarly - until you revoke their permission (for some this is as simple as removing the object) they continue to have said permission. As far as exploitation goes: You can be exploited in any manner of ways within Second Life, the use of an Experience is not required for such. There have been topics started in the past on the varied fora concerning the varied exploitable permissions (including the Debit permission) as well as RLV systems - this is nothing new whatsoever and the answer is always the same: Educate users on what is possible. Not what someone imagines is possible, what is actually possible.
  2. Except that there is no "yes forever" option unless you yourself choose to leave that permission in place. Read the documentation - it can be revoked at any time and it does not require much to do so.
  3. That's nice. I laugh at amusing things. I also laugh when someone says/does/posts/suggests something absolutely ridiculous with no care for what is being presented in said post. Want a discussion? Act like it. Then it will be treated as such. Simple.
  4. If an actual discussion is desired then all the charged language, standoffishness and hyperbole needs to be dropped. So far I'm seeing it only from the one end. So if ya'll want an actual discussion, act like it.
  5. Bit late to the party and to close that barn door. A decent enough show of paranoia though - thanks, needed that. Now then ... Go and learn about Experiences. Simple enough system to use. As for the entire RLV vs Experiences quibbling back and forth: One side has remained objective, one has not (and it isn't the side demonizing Experiences).
  6. I do truly wish that the Gaemerz crowd, those adjacent and their apologists would stop trying to insist that Second Life needs to be just like the latest craze or to keep up with the latest fads (among other absolute BS) and further stop trying to treat this platform as if it is even remotely built along the same lines ... It isn't. Period. To make it even remotely like the rest of that drek would require the entire system to be scrapped and everything to be rebuilt in such a manner as to preclude everything that made and makes Second Life be Second Life. Even the blasted VR centric platforms that some pretend are actual competitors do not have anything whatsoever remotely resembling what some seem to think we need here.
  7. I present to you, the Answers section. That is the "Support" section as it were. There is very little confusion in the naming of the existing fora sections or their descriptions - the "confusion" lies in the misreading or misunderstanding of their purpose/intent.
  8. So let me get this straight: You want Linden Lab to create a Region wherein the highest demand content one could encounter across the grid is placed .... So it can be used as a benchmark? Good luck getting enough content creators to agree to having their content hosted there - just for a start.
  9. Ah yes, pretending that each and every single response made is getting the same reaction no mater where it is ... Nope- it is in response to utter ridiculousness - this is not your personal Blog, it is not your in world Parcel. You have no say in what others see of you here, at all. Period. The same goes for in world, outside of IMs and such. Grow up and deal with it.
  10. The OP was not asking for any sort of discussion whatsoever - they laid out their manifesto and made it very clear that they did not wish to have any actual discussion, even going so far as to call out those who have held views contrary to their own (many of those viewed rooted in actual reality) and attempting to dissuade such users from posting in the thread. In short all that OP wanted was a bunch of "yes" people. The way it was shut down was a very gentle hand slap to the OP considering some of their antics and overall tone across many topics. Furthermore the thread in question was making a demand - not a request of any sort.
  11. What you are seeing is partially the weaponization of thread locking/deleting by some users combining with an apparent lack of properly dealing with them by the powers that be while removing the "problematic" posts (effectively removing any outward facing evidence of these shenanigans) ... It has got to stop.
  12. Oh hey, a thread wherein the OP presents dubious information as if they were hard facts and wishes to pretend they can prevent other users from having any sort of discussion (which of course means the presumption that they can prevent a user from countering said dubious information) ... You do not own the forum and from the very second you pressed "Submit Reply" you forfeited all control - deal with it. We get that you're on some misguided crusade - it isn't the first one either. Give them all a rest already.
  13. Ah yes, so because it does not let you control other's experiences, it is the "wrong software" ... Get a grip.
  14. There is no "discussion" to be had. Your control begins and ends with what you see and who you interact with. This is by design and in case you missed it, it has been stated already (by mole or Linden) that the forum software appears to not allow what you wish it allowed. Guess what? Across the digital street it works exactly the same way. The only difference between them is that over there you don't even see that a post was made (even if quoted) nor do you see any topics the Ignored user has made (both of which are frankly irritating).
  15. Luna, there is no "block" function on the Forum. It is labeled as Ignore and is such for the reasons outlined in this thread.
  16. Ah yes, because we don't agree none of us must have been around in the earlier days ... such wonderful "logic"! Newsflash - you're quite wrong there. On the Forum: Ignore (checking all boxes that apply) and move on. In World: Use the Mute/"Block" functions and move on ("Block" will visually alter/hide them and prevent IMs as well as hide their chat from your screen but will not remove you from their view - as is intended). Your control over their experience begins and ends with direct messages and interactions with you - you do not get to determine if they can see you/your public chat or not.
  17. I have a much better idea: Everyone that suggests doing away with Free Accounts as an option is "voluntold" by Linden Lab that they will now be footing the lion's share of the Lab's bills - all other paid account levels remain right where they are. What? You want to remove an income source from Linden Lab (Free Accounts do indeed account for a large percentage of transactions outside of the Premium fee) therefore you have to make up the difference. Personally. What's that? Not fair? Absurd? No more than the put forward proposition to do away with Free Accounts.
  18. There is no mistake on their end to correct. The function does what it says on the label - it Ignores. You want more, file a Feature Request.
  19. Your agreement is not required and is in fact irrelevant. They are not the same - beginning and end.
  20. The clue is in the name of the function - "Ignore". Not "Block". You are choosing to IGNORE a user by using the function. Even across the digital street (VVO) the Ignore function is one sided. Use it with all boxes checked and move on. This is in addition to every single explanation you've been given by others thus far.
  21. Looks like it may be time for the kids to be put into Time Out...
  22. Nor should it. The only part that is "blocked" here is the Private Message function.
  23. Welcome to life - things don't go as planned. No thread deletion required either - we have enough of that as is.
