  1. Aftershokz Aeropex owner here - Bone conduction is very useful indeed for listening to music or being on a call and still being able to hear your surroundings. it's not for everyone though as a few may find the sensation .. odd to say the least. Aftershokz rebanded as Shokz and has several different lines of Open <insert second half of name here> headsets, the OpenRun/OpenRun Pro being the 'flagship' for more casual use. Skip the OpenFit. A number of phone media player apps and EQs now ship with settings for their products as well. The DSP system I use as primary on my Linux PC (JamesDSP) also has settings for them. Worth the money if they work for you. ETA: My peeve? Got the Aeropex second hand and with slight frequency damages. Can't really afford to get the newer OpenRun or OpenRun Pro.
  2. When you have said your piece and it has become clear that someone is responding simply to 'argue' out of abject boredom (and it will indeed show - despite any protestations they may make to the contrary) or that there really is no point to further responses ... Then there is no point in dissecting what is being presented. At all. Especially if you have gone over a particular topic repeatedly, in different threads across a period of time. Your stance is known or can be discovered if a user is truly interested enough to go looking.
  3. ... When you put others on Ignore there is no need to let everyone know you have done so. Let them figure it out on their own. If you figure out someone has you on Ignore you can shrug your shoulders and move on - yes even if they take the option to examine one of your posts and heaven forbid react to it. You could also place them on Ignore as well and no longer see their posts as well as opting to no longer be notified of their reactions to your posts. I'd say it is beyond time for some to stop acting like children but I'd be addressing several brick walls.
  4. "Turn off" - Mute the object, then you won't see its output anymore. "Opt out" - Nope. Don't want your chat being repeated over the extender then use IMs. Don't want to do that, don't visit the parcel/region.
  5. A ban list has no information whatsoever outside of the listing of avatar IDs/names. No one looking at the list will know who is or is not an alt of anyone else on the list. The only way(s) for a user to get that particular bit of information (and have it be accurate) is to ask someone who actually knows that information directly (more or less accurate) or to work directly for Linden Lab (meaning they have tools to enhance said accuracy - even Linden Lab cannot tell beyond user accounts sharing a machine or network, perhaps even sharing payment information). So no, no disclosure is occurring - even if you feel it is.
  6. Oh would you look at that - the expected outcome of an 'argument' occurred! ETA: This isn't the "old days" here, where one could do such things for pages upon pages while also derailing a topic until one cannot truly recognize it anymore - stop trying to always be 'right' or trying to get the last word in. Say your piece, make corrections if needed (and no they are not always needed) and then move on. Can't do that? Start using the Ignore function then. Can't do that? Well then time to take a break. Can't/won't do that? Eventually the Moderation team will make you do so. Then it is on you. Not them. You. After all of that if you still cannot/will not adjust ... Then it is time to move on from the forum itself. Willingly or not.
  7. ... And there we have it, a call to lock or prune the thread because anything not reeking of sugar is "toxic". Just delete the entire forum and be done with it.
  8. I am not going back and forth over this off topic tangent. Nor will I go back and forth over it elsewhere. Do as you wish but do not attempt to drag me into your tangent.
  9. What "toxic response" was given? Ted was blunt and to the point - if one feels that their UUID actually is personally identifiable information, they can take it up with the proper authorities. If you'd like to argue any of it further, you might want to take iv to a dedicated topic.
  10. Most either do not care about the varied systems or use what tools there are to manage their experience. Then there's what was seen here.
  11. If the only response a user is getting is a reaction then the reaction IS the response. If a user feels the need to explain or respond to that response then so be it, it is up to them. There are cases where there is no need for anything beyond a reaction icon as a response and that is perfectly fine. One does not need to discuss each and every little thing here. Sometimes things are not worth wasting time over what would be - to the one simply reacting - a waste of time and and effort. Such is the case here. Meaningful responses were given at the start. Those responses were met with hostility right out of the gate. From that moment onward, that was factored into all further responses by many who responded. Instead of pretending that the OP is being bullied or some other such, how about those who would come rushing to their defense or to admonish those who have responded or used what is at their disposal actually take a step back and read the thread? Honestly read it. The OP was openly hostile almost out of the gate, to say nothing of the premise to begin with.
  12. If you cannot handle getting a reaction icon or button as a response then forums are not for you - at all. The text based responses given were of the exact tone and content fostered by the OP. It is beyond ridiculous to make the claim that no one in this forum ever helps and only ever offers ridicule.
  13. DMCA notices and Copyright issues. You know, those oh so pesky things Linden Lab has to legally take action concerning when they recieve them.
  14. That's nice. I've given you the reality. Many responding here have dealt with their own variants of stalkers through the years or have aided those who were actually being stalked. If you are genuine, use the information presented as such is the only resolution you are going to get - at all, ever. Linden Lab will not step in to act outside of genuine, provable offenses. Beginning and end. Considering your responses you are about as genuine as the average store bought Vanilla Extract (big, cheap bottle).
  15. The age of your account means nothing whatsoever - it could be an account that was made years ago and not used often. Either way, citing the account age as "proof" is meaningless. Block, Mute and Derender offending Avatars such as Vampires. send in Reports on those actually stalking you. With actual proof of doing so. A random Vampire System user showing up near you is not stalking - period. Sit down. Further responses at this point will get the response that is merited for what has been posted thus far. Find another form of entertainment.
  16. Either someone got bored and decided to roll up an Alt to try and stir up some entertainment or someone really needs to take about a thousand steps back and sit the Hades down. Either way, yawn.
  17. Hope: It ends up being just a secondary way to log in to do things when one is not at or able to get to their primary setup/PC. Fear: That they try to make it oh so much more than that and that they end up bringing in the crowd that would demand Second Life to run at three billion FPS on their Daddy Bought Me This Rig, 58K Money Pit PC the same exact way that prepackaged/rendered games (actual games) tend to cater to such crowds. No, we do not need such a crowd. Period.
  18. M'kay .... a broken function does not equal the code for said function having been removed until someone who works with said code states it has been removed. On a similar track: Users trying to come up with reasons why a particular thing is the way it is (let us say the whole back and forth over TPVs earlier concerning development) means nothing whatsoever beyond your own personal speculations. Do not treat these as reality.
  19. Take it up with Linden Lab. On that, you're several updates late to the party.
  20. Point blank: If one is going to go shopping for something, one should not make a choice in store no matter how pushy or suave the salesperson is. Get their recommendation, go home, look it up or ask a friend (if possible). Predatory salespeople exist. The above is one way to avoid being taken in by them. Those specs are not for any sort of gaming machine - whatsoever. They were sold a glorified Word Processor (at best).
  21. Had to correct my initial post ... The GTX 980 TI I've got is about 6GB of VRAM. Mind, I'm running SL (Firestorm) while having Discord, Telegram, Brave Browser, Easy Effects, JamesDSP and Audacious also open (on different workspaces mind). Brave often has several tabs open ... Point is though that I rarely have too many issues. Then again I also don't wander much nor play any in SL 'games' much either. Slowest it gets is when at one of my favorite clubs and people pop in/out. Thus far anyway. Mind this same rig also handles running SteamVR itself as well as SteamVR/VRChat, broadcasting over my in home network to a Quest 2 using ALVR. Yes, I've had lockups - bad enough to require a force shut down via main button (five second hold or so). But uh ... yeah.
  22. DoF gets toggled on and off as i deem fit. DD gets pumped up higher depending on situation. This is on a GTX 980 TI, 32 GB RAM, Ryzen 7 2700X. OS: Linux (Manjaro, Kernel 6.4 series, Liquorix variant). Runs well enough for my liking in most situations.
  23. FPS, TPS, MOBA, MOSA, and on and on ... Irrelevant, just like the attempts to compare against Second Life (and vice versa). The point: Second Life is not any of them. Second Life should not be altered to be like them. Second Life does not need to chase their demographic.
