Excellent ! Perhaps artists like Madcow Cosmos, Lorin Tone, Sledge Roffo and Sextan Sheppard could showcase their previous builds? I know I would love to see them again.

Nice but can we see it bigger please? ;-)

My goodness, comments on blogs;-) All in all, not bad. Viewer Wars continue. It is indeed hard to help new residents. Two controls for audio are needed. Blaring volume 11 music is not conducive to talking someone through any Viewer. Make master default 3/4 up not max, please. Please offer an eye-friendly silver skin option. We are more than willing to help new folks but give us a chance .. what with chat being toasts, audio blaring and eyes getting strained it is a wonder any newb stays at all.

Viewer 2.5 with Web Profiles Has Arrived
A group blog by Secondlife in General
Where is the YouTube link on the my.profile web page? Shouldn't it be in the Share Elsewhere area as an icon? That's where it appears in my profile. Maybe try reloading the profile page, or repeat the connection process.
Ah ...edit and add in on the edit page.. gotcha!! All we need now is Plurk & Blogger and perhaps Photobucket and until the next rage, we'll be all sort of connected.

Viewer 2.5 with Web Profiles Has Arrived

A new version of my.secondlife.com has just been deployed that addresses the following issue:
Many users asked for the ability to associate their YouTube account with their SL profile. So we went ahead and added that feature to this release, enjoy!Where is the YouTube link on the my.profile web page? Shouldn't it be in the Share Elsewhere area as an icon?

One difference I noticed and cannot figure out-how do you add a photo from your inventory like other versions? You can add a photo directly from your hardrive free but no longer a file picture from SL inventory?? Am I missing something??
The web based profile requires the photo to have full prems so it will show. If folks are seeing broken photos they might check the permissions or upload a new version onto the website direct.

This is good news, Brooke, thanks.
Question: has SLM been fixed now so that the recipient can rate an item on the site, rather than the purchaser? This has been a problem in the past, and since many use SLM to "gift" items that are no transfer in-world, I suspect it adds to the reduction in ratings we've seen with the new site.
It has been fixed, Rachel.. now I need to get the hubby to give a good review on those glasses I sent him. It was almost easier to leave the review myself... since I was the one who had the link to the product in my order history.

Viewer 2.5 with Web Profiles Has Arrived

Please, may someone tell me where I find this "my.profile" page so I can completely hide my profile?
I'm a happy no-user of Viewer 2 (I use a TPV with some V2-features only, without the odd V2-UI) ) and I have no interest in mix my Second Life with my Real Life. Things that happen on SL (is better to) remain on SL. This is the way SL Virtual World was created and this is the way I like.
Go to https://my.secondlife.com/Lill.Verwood upper right corner login then go to privacy settings and check the boxes that are appropiate for you.

Anyone else finding Shakespeare's Pants a problem with this viewer? This is when pants (EN-US) or trousers (EN-UK) appear tight around the ankles like leggings instead of being the expected width at the hems.
Nope, that also happens in1.23.5... pegged pants have returned;-)
If this is the case could you please take a screenshot and add it and a comment to the JIRA. The matter is scheduled to be discussed at the next (or is that first) meeting of the 'Viewer 2 Evolution User Group' next week.
Added screenshot to JIRA.

Is this feature only going to show the first page of the avatar profile on the web? I looked at yours, and didn't show the other parts like the picks and first life and whatnot.
A person needs to go to their privacy settings either in-world or by logging in to the my.profile page and set them up. I just did it for mine. You should be able to see picks/classifieds/groups. Wonder how long it will take to spider out? ETA the spidered web profiles now show in google woohoo

There is also a link to the Merchant's store in the order and order history now. For more information, please see the wiki page on this update.

I've reviewed the feedback here. Based upon the feedback, I am going to limit conversations/updates on Maturity to 15 minutes (hopefully it will be shorter!) and talk about other things. I am likely going to have to end the meeting about 15 minutes early to catch up on some last minute items before the deploy tomorrow--just a heads up on that.
I am going to do the meeting in IM tomorrow. Here's the agenda I've pulled together:
- Maturity issue updates (15 min)
- Maturity lessons learned (part of the above 15 min)
- Gifting update
- Communication updates (brief)
- Hot topics
- Anything new that comes up overnight
- Delivery problems/planned fixes: update
- Feature requests/fixes (we need to consolidate this list with PJIRAs and track them, and allow voting so we can prioritize)
- Category cross listing
- Store improvements (branding/departments, images/landing page customization, sorting, multiple stores per merchant, multiple merchants per store)
- Additional search options (w/in a store, for a merchant or store, listing only)
- Bulk image upload->improved image management w/in listings
- Ratings and reviews->improvements on reporting/viewing, controversy over required review if leaving a rating
- Related items
- Editing an item drops its search relevance
- New items default to end of search results
- Weekend coverage for addressing flagged items
- Different colors/sizes on same product
- Reporting-improved sales reporting
- Improved enhancements
- Stale listing cleanup->charge a fee to relist (look at logins from merchants or something)
- PIOF to sell inworld and on SLM
- Better listing features: youtube, description
- Email notifications (too many per sale)
- Email notifications to the merchant to key events (i.e. item flagged, background updates)
- Ad pricing changes
- Search
- Free test delivery
- Edit item improvements
I'll see those of you who can attend in world tomorrow!
Brooke
Thanks for this list, Brooke. Due to many merchant questions some of these were not addressed that would be good to see your comments on. If you would be so kind to respond to them here it would be great!

Second Life Story in HBO Documentary this Valentine’s Day
A group blog by Secondlife in General
I met the RL love of my life inworld (actually on the old forums, followed by a few virtual dates) ... though we're not involved inworld in any significant way anymore, we got our start here and if it weren't for SL we'd likely never have met at all.
*waves to G & E* Although my hubby & I met long before discovering SL, we find that our RL relationship is enriched by having the best of both worlds We will be sure to watch this.

Welcome, Rod. Great start to your New Life.. now don't forget where your towel is and do try out some things like swimming, flying airships, ice skating, skiing, Ski jumping, sailing and racing vehicles etc etc etc. Checkout the Destination Guide too. If there is anything we can do to help, just let us know.

Great number choice Sounds like some very fun and workable stuff is coming. Would love to see the same "share" set that is on the SLM format/choices used on my.secondlife and blogs.secondlife etc. etc. Thanks for feeding the fish, FJ

It's still on-going and is still lots of fun. The Ski Jump @ Off Sides is a great place to visit and try out some fast. easy and fun stuff. Good thing you don't need skis to jump Nate, have them meet you at the ski jump http://slurl.com/secondlife/Off%20Sides/3/130/40 They can pick CHAMONIX CITY as a destination and then follow the easy to read signs towards the East and Ski Jump.

Overhaul and add to Premium YAY! Suggest that maybe an SLM Gift Card for say $1000L would make the whole marketplace happy and simulate the sales of all merchants;-) Also, Estate Tools on Mainland would be nice and actually reduce the strain on Support where most of the time is really spent dealing with requests for a Mainland Sim Restart.
Thanks for the perks, keep them coming, please;-)
