  1. Where is # used as a pound sign? I have seen American keyboards that have the # on the 3 key, which is where the pound sign in on an English keyboard, but I've never actually seen anyone use a # as a pound sign. £ = Pound sign # = Hash symbol
  2. If it is someone that you have spoken to, you could try searching for the name in your chat logs as it is likely there will be less people with the same last name in there.
  3. You can also try speaking to LiveChat & if you are lucky enough to get past the Scouts to the Concierge they are very helpful. There is a ticket for moving your sims & you can request where to move to, but in the case of Blake sea that is a joint project between LL & the sailing club so its possible that you need some sort of permission to be moved over there. https://support.secondlife.com/start-chat/
  4. Conifer Dada wrote: I grew to like Viewer 2 and now Viewer 3 which looks the same. The sidebar is OK when one gets used to it but my only real criticism is that the camera controls tab is too big and intrusive. It would also be nice if we could customise the Viewer to our own choices of colour. Maybe LL will do something like this: http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/doku.php?id=fs_colorschemecontest @ Deej, ty
  5. HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! *happy dances around the room* This one is fixed!! Thankyou Oskar (or whoever fixed it) last week's is still broken, but new stuff is on page 2 of that one now & the login only comes up on page 1 so I can live with that lol
  6. Emm Lycour wrote: UPDATE: after exhausting every fix i could find, a friend suggested it was my firewall, so i reset default settings, turned off the firewall, rebooted the computer, turned the firewall back on and logged into SL and it was fixed! hope this helps someone else. ~Emm Excellent news Emm, it would seem you are not alone though, several people are reporting the same issue on all viewers & a couple of JIRAs have been filed..... https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-26796 https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-26806 Your firewall fix is an interesting development, I would suggest you post it for those 2 people and see if it fixes them too or if there is a deeper issue. Strange how a lot of firewalls could go weird at the same time giving the symptoms, I wonder what caused it.
  7. Seems to be a bug that is spreading, I`ve seen people reporting the same thing for the last couple of days, where they can login in but varying degrees of stuff is missing groups, contacts, music, voice, crashing on TP etc. Doesn`t seem to just be one viewer either, so it could be a server issue. I have only found 2 JIRAs filed so far, I would add your comments to whichever one seems to match your case best & give as much detail as possible as neither of these 2 gave a lot for the devs to go on. https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-26796 https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-26806 EDIT: someone else with the same problem posted this fix you could try: UPDATE: after exhausting every fix i could find, a friend suggested it was my firewall, so i reset default settings, turned off the firewall, rebooted the computer, turned the firewall back on and logged into SL and it was fixed! hope this helps someone else. ~Emm
  8. Marigold Devin wrote: Is Amanda still with us? If not, for your homework this week, sound Lexie out about this again. They could even market the merchandise via FB, make the most of every opportunity. And they could run competitions, for those brave enough to bare their RL identity in an SL tee, avatar name optional of course. I'd click the "like" button for that. Nah Amanda is gone, soon after Blondin went. Not sure who the head of Marketing is, I don`t think there is a Marketing User Group either, which is a shame really because if there was one area that LL could use some decent suggestions it would be Marketing lol
  9. Luschious Nightfire wrote: oh, lol so its not the viewer thats bad, its us thats just poor heeheee Yus, of course the viewer is perfect, it is us that is faulty lol At least thats the message that comes across sometimes. When you consider how many people are in SL and how many different uses we all have for a viewer, it is ridiculous to assume that you could make one that will suit everyone. I have no problem with the fact that some people will love V2 or that some will never love it. I do find it a bit patronising when I hear people say that the only reason some people don`t like it is because they haven`t given it a chance, like they are too stupid to know what they do or don`t like, because its just not that simple. People have different tastes & thats the bottomline, you might be able to force them to use a viewer but you can`t force them to like it. While there are still choices to be had, why force anyone to do anything? At the end of the day everyone deserves to be as happy as possible with their SL user experience & one of the things that the Phoenix team got right with Firestorm is the options. Yes it is V2 but there are options for just about everything in the viewer so users can personalise it & that has made it possible for a lot more people to "happily" switch over to V2 on a sort of hybrid between the 2. But there are still going be others that find that is still not V1 enough for them & that does not mean there is something wrong with them. We are all enitled to fight for a viewer we want to use.
  10. You answered your own question there. If you had the crappy laptop I had to work with not long ago, where the sidebar covered most of the screen when open & was not resizable, you might have a different opinion about it.
  11. We did ask Amanda about RL merchandise in one of the early CTUG meetings, she said there wasn`t any, but wasn`t sure why not & agreed there should be. Even selling t-shirts with SL related slogans they would make a killing & it would be better advertising in RL than on FB or the other dumb places they choose to.
  12. We do. They are called Telehubs. Sim owners can set them with several spawn points around the central hub to avoid pileups on busy sims, but most just set a single landing point instead.
  13. If you walk away from a regualar prim box or poseballs etc they will vanish at around 64m, but if you walk back towards them you won`t see them again until they are less than 50m away. An avatar won`t be visible unless its under 500m away.
  14. Oh nooooo not again *facepaws* Oskar can ya fix your posts please, see http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Forums-Feedback/Wiki-Authentication-Login/td-p/1065433
  15. Hi Emm, Can you check if the same thing occurs on the LL viewer & if it is just happening on Phoenix & Firestorm, submit a support JIRA on http://jira.phoenixviewer.com/secure/CreateIssue.jspa?pid=10003&issuetype=8m
  16. aww ty Darrius...The seal on that bottle looks like a migraine waiting to happen but I`ll give it a go lol
  17. If you leave your group with open registration it is hard to stop people rejoining. One thing you can do (depending on the size of the group) is switch off the ability to chat in group for the "everyone" role & move all the members that are allowed to chat into another role.
  18. @ Darrius & Pep, Long words this early make my brain hurt!!!
  19. There is more to a child avvie than just the height & a lot of us with avatars that are normal RL height appear small in SL & get accused of being kids. 4'5" is VERY small for an adult in SL, it would depend a lot on what shape you have, how you dress, how you behave & how you speak. If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, sounds like a duck, chances are, it is a duck!!!
  20. Hopefully LL will be able to see the double refunds & fix the problem. Did you also check the group account to make sure that the vendor wasn`t paying half the money to you and half to the group, it could be that is where your money is sitting.
  21. The tier levels for land fees are shown on https://secondlife.com/my/account/landfees.php? Those amounts are in addition to your tier free 512sqm allowance. If you had an additional 4400sqm (deeded to a group) you would have been paying the 4096sqm tier level of $25 a month. If you have 8832sqm (deeded to group) you would pay the 8192sqm tier level of $40 a month. Look on your account summary https://secondlife.com/my/account/? at the bottom, to see what it says your "Peak square meter usage" is. If it is higher than the amount of land that you own, it is possible you have a land contribution on a group that you did not remove. You can look in "My Mainland" and "Group Land" in the land manager section, to see what land you are being charged for.
  22. Try removing the AppData folders too, go to: C: - Users - (USER NAME) - AppData - Roaming - SecondLife C: - Users - (USER NAME) - AppData - Local- SecondLife Rename the folders to Secondlife2 (or delete them) and then restart your computer. NOTE: You may need to go to Windows Tools > Folder Options > View & enable Show Hidden Files/Folders, in order to see AppData folder. Then login as normal.
  23. If you are using Phoenix, go to the Phoenix menu at the top of your screen and to the Asset Blacklist, remove your land from the list and then you can either change your active group tag or TP out and back so that you can see it again.
