  1. Check your firewall and antivirus to make sure that neither of them has blocked the voice plugin. It often triggers a false postive result with some security systems.
  2. Accepted payment methods are shown on http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Local-Payments/ta-p/768419
  3. Accounts are automatically activated at the end of the registration process now, assuming that your registered on the official site and not through a registration portal. Have you tried to login with the account? Have you checked your email (including junk mail) for any messages from LL? If you have a new account with a single username & you are trying to login on a viewer asking for 2 names, you need to use the last name Resident.
  4. Interesting question as far as child avvies and RLV, because the offficial LL viewer does not support that feature & so I don`t think it is even addressed in the TOS specificallly. Having said that, your question about "who" placed your avatar where it shouldn`t have been, the answer would be that you did, because you gave control of the avatar to someone else. It is completely untrue that teen avvies are restricted to PG areas, it is RL teens that are restricted there until they turn 18, even if their avvies are adults. The section of the TOS that you quoted is the relevant one & if you are going to use RLV, you are taking a serious risk of getting yourself into trouble, especially if someone had AR`d you in a compromising position at that location with attached snapshot.
  5. Your transaction history only goes back 30 days, you have to save copies yourself if you want to keep them. If you save your chat logs then you should have a record of your friend there, either in chat.txt or if you have ever IM`d him you would have a text file with his name on it. Check your preferences to see the location that your logs are saved to & look there. You can also check your Calling cards folder, if he was ever on your friends list.
  6. So basically your thread is that you think Ahern should be closed, not welcome areas in general....I completely disagree. You can look at Ahern on the map anytime anyday & it ALWAYS has a crowd there, for the simple reason that people like it! They go back there year after year, new people come & go & some of them end up as regulars too, if you don`t like it, don`t go there. There is no denying that at times it gets a bit out of hand, but it is what it is & its one of the most popular haunts in SL. You will never get rid of griefers from SL & if you try to close sandboxes or welcome areas where they tend to hangout, all you will do is force them to move onto other places & upset a whole load of other people.
  7. Unfortunately no, it is because of the size of the ball. Small objects at a distance will not show even if, as you say, you have your draw distance maxed out. Pretty much anything the size of a regular default prim cube or smaller.
  8. There will always be people both in RL & SL that will push the boundaries or outright break the rules, its human nature I guess. LL can`t be everywhere all the time & they rely on residents to report things that need to be adressed when they come across them. If you are finding stuff in G rated areas that should not be there, you can click on the Help menu in your viewer & file an AR (abuse report) & a Linden will check it out.
  9. Jinnywitha Cleanslate wrote: Thanks for the replies. I was just checking if it was possible to censor what can be played. Kinda knew the answer, but just wanted to double check. This person is the club drama queen and causes a lot of disputes, and trouble for me to sort out every week.....guess she's keeping me in a job, at least! Lol......but the owner says to keep her there, so I can't do anything apart from talk to her. As I said in my OP, she has been asked already a few times - with no success. And sadly, she has little regard for club rules, or the people in it. Siiigghhhssss. She has been asked not to play that video and it is on repeat. It drives me nuts! It's SL for goodness sake - if I don't like something personally - I know where to turn it off. Others aren't so pro-active. Thanks for your time everyone! Sounds to me like the owner is the problem. From what you described, she would have been banned from any other club long ago.
  10. Wobbie wrote: PS: Post anything about simply deleting roaming and local files will be ignored unless given good reason. I really don't want to have to go back there again. I have seen it way way way to many times for me to stand even looking at them. VFS is a caching problem so that is why you are likely to get people suggesting that, unless your computer suddenly developed a RAM probelm. If youchanged your cache to save to a location other than the default, obviously make sure that you have deleted it from there. Also Firestorm and the LL viewer are both V2 based, so I agree with the suggestion of trying a V1 based viewer, such as Phoenix, Imprudence, Singularity or 1.23 to see if you get the same issue with them.
  11. If you checked that you agree to the TOS & then clicked OK or continue or whatever it is called, the login process should just continue. If the TOS didn`t load & allow you to agee to it, you will need to download any other viewer & agree to it on that one & then go back to the one you want to use. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Alternate_Viewers http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Third_Party_Viewer_Directory
  12. Assuming you mean a private estate and not mainland. If you are an estate manager, click the Abandon button , if you are the sim owner, click the reclaim buttton - Both will put the land back into the name of the sim owner & it can then be deeded to another group. If the owner isn`t around & you are the manager, you will be able to set it for sale to yourself for 0L after you have clicked abandon & you can then deed it once you are the owner. The deleted group is gone, you will need to create a new one if you want one with a similar name.
  13. It has always been hit & miss which support team member you are lucky or unlucky enough to get dealing with your ticket. I had a similar experience this weekend, when I filed a Marketplace ticket & got a robotic reply related to ARs. I reopened the ticket saying it was a Marketplace issue & why was she talking about ARs, there isn`t even a MP category for ARs. The ticket got closed & locked with no response & that is consierge level support!! EDIT: I opened a new ticket, cross referenced to the locked one & Dakota dealt with it it. Thankyou Dakota, you're the best!! As for the person that got the ticket the first time...hmmm, its the ones like that that are getting support such a bad name.
  14. I can`t think of any good reason to close public sandboxes. They are a crucial resource for people with no land.
  15. I agree 100% Void. Coalesced objects are the cause of soooo many lost items in SL & one of the most asked about problems on the answers sections. There should definately be something done about the problem, ideally stop them being created by the returns system in the first place. If someone wants to take unlinked objects back to their inventory by selection & their onw choice, that is fine, but returning stuff from about land should return them all individually and not stupid lumps of objects that either don`t arrive, can`t be rezzed or end up containing a no copy item & lose you all your stuff. Having lost a whole sim of objects because one item was lost from database in a coalesced object, I think this problem has waited long enough to be addressed.
  16. Yus danger good...strengthens your leg muscles too lol
  17. Owling looks a bit boring, I`ll stick with Planking
  18. This was posted by another Mac user with a similar problem: I actually seemed to have resolved the issue after scouring the minefield that is the JIRA bugger tracker. Seems to be related to a DNS issue. By adding two backup google DNS entries [8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4] I was able to launch and run 3.0 without any apparent issues, although I will continue to monitor the result.
  19. Recently in my Linden house none of the controls work. The panel, curtains, door etc have no response. What possible solution is there please
  20. Standing on heads (and pushing people around) both got much harder around the time that Havok was introduced, when they changed the avatar bounding box from a box to an oval & we became much more slippery. It is still possible to get on heads, but if you slip off even slightly you will fall & usually get stuck doing your falling animation, which, if you don`t have a cool one in your AO, usually means you are left flapping in the air like a demented duck with the default falling anim lol If you have noticed a change in the last few weeks, its possible that Havok has been updated or some other tweak has been made to the physics engine.
  21. Mac users should see this thread http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Technical/DNS-PROBLEMS/qaq-p/838759/comment-id/6440#M6440 Also Van Auster resolved a Mac DNS issue with this fix recently: I actually seemed to have resolved the issue after scouring the minefield that is the JIRA bugger tracker. Seems to be related to a DNS issue. By adding two backup google DNS entries [8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4] I was able to launch and run 3.0 without any apparent issues, although I will continue to monitor the result.
  22. Do you have your camera right behind the white voice dot over someone`s head?
  23. If you are in advanced mode you can right click yoru avatar to edit your appearance.
  24. If the person has been there for years, they must know it bugs people. Tell them outright, do not play that video & if they do it again, obviously they are deliberately trying to annoy people...Ban them!! If they choose to ignore a polite request then its their own fault they get banned not yours.
