  1. This takes me back to my original impetus for joining SL 15 years ago. I thought educators had abandoned the platform. My computer was horrible back then, so it was usually a major trial to move or see anything. I’m going to check out the other sessions, too.

Meteorological spring starts March 1st, so...

I didn't know there was meterological Spring until you mentioned it. I guess that's what Linden Lab goes with. 😊

  3. Stilts are the kind of home that I always want in the winter. My alt managed to catch this On Land recently. When the stilts were first introduced, I wandered the regions and tried to figure out my ideal winter vacation home. It turned out that I liked the On Land that were not too close to other homes and not staring off into a void region. Good luck with that! It's taken me this long to stumble upon this location.

that is THE question!!!! It is innate to the human condition to want what we don't have, so I personally won't risk it. I passed on my Trad to a friend of mine because I was never there, but then I missed it terribly; thankfully, I've got it back, and now I'm keeping foreeeeeeeever, because there are not many spots like this one left:

I coveted your home when I was in the neighborhood. No matter how much I love a place (remember the saga of my beloved Deckard?) I can’t seem to stay. The irony is that I can’t motivate myself to move in RL.

  5. GoHs has felt like a roulette wheel to me. I've been in SL for 15(!) years, and I've mostly rented on private estates. Over the years, I collected a lot of prefab houses. Mainland never really appealed to me. I turned my hand at a few parcels but never could fully embrace the aesthetic. Plus I continue to have a restless nature. It's not that unusual, because I've run into a lot of people who labeled themselves as tumbleweeds. (I'm looking at you @Sylvia Tamalyn 😉.) Until Bellisseria emerged on the horizon, I only had one alt. She rarely came out to play.

It's always been about water and lush green landscapes for me. With each theme, a vision evolved of the perfect location. I thought I'd love the On Pier the best of the stilts. As it turns out, the ones that are on land but dip their toes into water have been the draw. Nonetheless I've never been able to keep one for very long. When I let a home go, I don't usually feel much regret. It warms my heart when I see the next owner has named the home "Sanctuary" or "Home Sweet Home". Maybe it's their forever place. I still marvel at the folks that have hung onto their undecorated homes, since April 15, 2019.

Even though my goal (Trad on a river) has evolved from the beginning of Belli, I've held onto houseboats longer than any of the other themes. Tiny homes appeal to me, and the add-ons that people have created for them make them liveable for me. Ideally I'd like to get back to one or two premium accounts. My oldest alt just landed a trad on the river with a view of the Cedarburg lighthouse. Knowing me, it won't be forever.

I am thankfully out of the running for abandons or new releases but I am sure that if any release prompts amazing abandons it will be this one :)

That's my favorite part of a new theme. I managed to pick up a lovely Trad this morning after a few unsuccessful tries. Let's see how long I keep this one.

If you need to log in to send a message or other things, and do not care where you are, Hatton is open. Just type Hatton in as location.

I and 59 other people are logged in at Pooley. Everywhere I normally could log in is down right now. Even my non-Linden skybox. Eastern Belli seems to be up, but the regions to the west are mostly down. Correction: most of Bellisseria is down. I hadn't scrolled out on my map.

Yes I have been experiencing that today. I can’t claim a home.

Sylvia answered my question. It must have something to do with rolling restarts. I hadn't tried logging in until now, and I couldn't reach any region. It looked like I was able to, then it would just hang. I was hoping that they were getting the land page ready for the new big release. No such luck lol

  9. I’m a tiny house fan, so the chalets didn’t work for me as well either. I did use the window boxes, tulips, and daffodils with my camper, though, and the topiaries on the stilts. For some reason, I can’t keep a stilt for very long, either. Who am I kidding? I can’t keep any home very long! Houseboats I stay with the longest. It must be, because I was born in Port Huron, Michigan. Lighthouses and the Great Lakes call to me.

  10. I've got a lot of fond memories, but the craziest one I think was when my alt landed my very first houseboat during the region release of Walrus Beach. I was standing on the deck fishing when a griefer came by in an original naked systems avi outfit (or maybe that was his actual look Circa 2004). He kept trying to push me off the deck, but I held my ground. He definitely violated the covenant with his poorly designed freenis at full attention. I've rarely encountered griefers (knock on wood) in my 15 years in SL.

Attending a Moles party at the Fairgrounds, and there's always a group hug at the end. Gets me all warm and fuzzy especially since hugging has pretty much stopped in RL, due to the pandemic.

Watching the Boat Parade sail past my home at dusk.

Riding the water ferry from the Fairgrounds with The Bellisseria Cat. I felt that I was in the presence of a celebrity. Of course, he did not speak or acknowledge my presence. That's how cats are. 😉

My alt getting her picture taken with Santa @Patch Linden . Her only wish was for world peace. I thought Santa could bring her that.

Bellisseria has renewed my love of exploring SL. In my early years, that pretty much was my main activity. I love visiting all the lighthouses that dot the regions, discovering mountain hideaways, and stumbling upon an underwater portal. Thank you, Lindens and Moles!
