I am a bit confused. They are an upgrade, so the models are ready to use in all old houseboat controllers?

Or is it not ready yet?

They updated the controllers, so the new models of houseboats are available in the "old" neighborhoods as well as the new releases of regions. In the new regions the new models are all rezzed out. It made me want to swap out some of the houseboats for the original styles. The Evening Star is still one of my faves. I was hoping for the houseboat upgrade or a new theme around the holidays.

I'm answering late, so you probably already know all this now.

My alt who's hopping for a bit before downgrading landed this stilt on land last night.  It's decks are over water and what a great location for exploring!  It will be released at noon.

Nika, there are certain names of regions that I’ll never live in even if it’s the most glorious place in SL. This is one of them. 😋

It does say "new homes" not "new themes" so perhaps the houseboat updates announced just a few minutes ago are the new homes?

I’m thrilled with the updated houseboats! And I’m grateful that I’m not on the hunt for one. The Victorians were released at Christmas a few years ago, so it’s possible we could get a holiday present this year.

I grew up in Florida and recall the days when the resident pass for the day was about 26 bucks!!?!

I grew up in Michigan, lived in San Francisco for many years, and then returned to Michigan. Somehow never made it to Disneyland when I was out there. My great niece was having a celebration at Disney World after she kicked acute lymphocytic leukemia's ass when she was 4 years old. The extended family was going to meet in Orlando for the event, and she ended up in the hospital. The trip was postponed and only involved her immediate family. The best gift is that she is now a thriving teenager!

Do they? I keep hearing people say they are canceling their Disney vacations. And I just read an article last week saying Disney plans hiring freeze, layoffs and cost cuts, according to a memo from CEO Bob Chapek. A company has to do what's in the best interest of the company or people loose jobs and sometimes, unfortunately, companies go out of business. So It's a careful balancing act. You have to keep your customers happy, but you also have to pay attention the bottom line to stay healthy. I think the Lab has done a pretty good job balancing benefits verses costs. Plus no one has to pay one single penny to enjoy Second Life if they don't want to.

I just reported what I read. I have never been to Disneyland or Disney World. I've always yearned to ride in one of the teacups, though. It is really costly, and I was surprised that my friend and her family went to Disney World right after the major hurricane hit this fall. They had planned and saved for years for the trip. They managed to go and have a great time.

I just reread your post, and I think it would be hard to really get into the SL experience without spending some money. I went for a long time without having a premium account. I could never get into owning Mainland, so I've rented over the years from private estates. Until Bellisseria came along and made me a happy hopper, I had been quite content to be a renter with 1200 prim allowances.

I don't go out of my way to belittle anyone -- just ask anyone that has been around these forums for years.

Lots of things make sense from a consumer POV.  And if companies ran their business entirely from a 'Consumer POV', there would be a lot fewer of them in business.

That's interesting, LittleMe, because I just read an article about Disney's CEO making a point of basing decisions on the Consumer POV. They keep raising their prices, and people keep paying.

In the US, "ranch house" is a very very common, well-defined style.  I hope it's interpreted a little more broadly than just a large 1-story tract home with simple pitched roof and driveway.  But we will see soon enough.

In RL, I live in a ranch style condo to differentiate from a multi-story condo. There are 3 other attached units. I'm a fan of ranches, especially after I paid a visit to my niece's family in Colorado. It seemed like a long trek every night to get to the guest bedroom. 😊

The hardly used part confuses me? o.O

I've seen homes on beautiful waterways that are from the original rollout of Bellisseria. They stand empty. They are gorgeous locations, but nobody knows the reasons that people hang onto locations. Maybe if they decorated, they wouldn't want to stay. That happens to me all the time. 😊

None, because i'm still a bitter hag over losing my dream house to system screwups and watching it hardly get used.

Meanwhile I've been chilling at a friend's LH.

I'm sure your dream house will eventually come available. I've stalked a few homes and managed to get a Trad back that I regretted giving up. Now that availability is up, I'm more relaxed about staying or hopping.

@Patch Linden Hey Mr Mouse .. lots of surls on the list have been getting deleted. So we are adding them all here. When the event is over can we please have this entire thread deleted as some Belli residents do not want their homes forever listed here. I will ping ya after the event to remind yew if dat is ok? :) Huggies!

Thanks, because I'm a tumbleweed and never stay put for long. I don't want some other long-suffering resident to get unwanted visitors.

I guess I added my slurls after @diamond Marchantdownloaded the slurls.

I have a slightly different feeling on this matter. I did not post any of my locations on the spreadsheet (there are 7 of them).  I dont mind if someone else posts them, but in my thinking this is a hunt and I would like at least 1 person to find them by hunting. :)

Hunts (especially shopping events) tax my nerves. They're not fun, so I appreciate that there is a spreadsheet of URLs. I posted my two homes there-- one in Ketran and the other in Pinot Point. Feel free to hang out and use the bumper boat rezzer in Pinot Point. I wouldn't post someone else's home. I respect people's choices and privacy.

I like Trads, Vics, Stilts and Fantasy (Fantasy could be number one if the houses were easier for me to work with).

I really thought you'd put Vics, as your number one! Houseboats have been mine, with Trads a close second.

Anyway, I thought this was promising. I actually don't know of a breedable pet dog system. There are horses and many other things. Still.

Amaretto has breedable dogs, as well as horses, birds, ponies, and most recently dragons (under another company name).

  15. I'm sure a Linden or Mole will give you a definitive answer, however, it's my understanding that it's the center of the house that determines if it's classified as On Land or On Water. That's why I always check out Stilts on Land, in case they actually border water.

Thank you, Derrick!  Altho I'm still a little puzzled about how I saw coastal stilt-on-lands being claimed by Premium Plus members when there were none of that type on the Land Page, and oodles of them set to Linden Home inland in those same regions.  Perhaps that was just a timing issue when Premium Plus was first starting up.

Nika, I guess I benefited by somebody giving up a coastal stilt on land in Lobster Roll. I and my alt are not premium plus, and she landed Lobster Roll a few days ago.
