Muniick's weekend sales include some items that have been on sale before singly or in a different grouping, so check your inventory! The Lorraine Vintage Living Room Set is $60, and the Lorraine Vintage Sofa & Settee are $55 for PG and $99 for A.

This fabric is so similar to the ottoman my late husband brought into our marriage 20 years ago. It was vintage back then! It’s stripes and not plaid, though.

Years ago I made my own version of the Loftroom home because I wanted more prims and a yard. So built this home out on my double prim mainland.

I really enjoyed this little home. I made it follow the original design in size with added on deck and skylight. I used windows and doors from a Roost home. All the prims, other than the Roost objects, are regular prims. The total LI for the build is 72, but because the build includes mesh objects the regular prims get a mesh modifier, otherwise the build would have a much higher LI count.

    Swoon!

It would be nice if the Moles would box up those old houses and stick them in the freebie store in Stillmans. (Modifyable, I would hope).  Then, anyone who still wants one can get one, and stick it down on mainland somewhere.

I'd love a Loftroom. That was always my favorite.

a majority of house seekers is nót a GOH player. And íf it's a GOH player the house will be back in the batch very fast.

You described my GOH experience. I have no interest in living next door to my friends. I move around too much.

Maybe some of Patch’s message this week will relate to removing the old homes as an option. Given that several types of the new homes are available each time the page is accessed…

Are the Sakura Homes available now abandons? What about the Newbrookes? I'm getting wanderlust, but I think I might regret abandoning this parcel.

I'm always on the lookout for the perfect Trad. Of course that means abandons. This morning I threw back a not so perfect Trad. It was a nice location, too. It was inland on a corner with a pretty park next to it. A lot of nice features. The very next roll, I landed a stilt on pier. You know how rare those are!  It may be a keeper. My alt's heart skipped a beat at the region name -- Restless Shore.

I've seen a number of new people describing basically this. They realise they need a house, they see they can click and get a house, the money doesn't seem bad... now you have a few days old account with a premium subscription and an increasing collection of furniture. I can see how this would have made my early Second Life a lot easier.

There are still other areas that need work, but the housing side does look to be working as intended.

I remember my early days (over 15 years ago--yikes!) where I rented homes on the Mainland before there were private estate rentals, then eventually paid $90 USD to "own" my own rental island, then eventually went premium to acquire a Linden home, and counted my lucky stars that my landlord  had never disappeared without warning like what happened to some of my friends. I liked the crazy Wild West feeling of SL back in 2006! I wave my cane at the young whippersnappers that complain today about the lack of free mesh bento heads. You don't know what it was like to wear flexi hair, prim skirts, and pay for no copy items that disappeared into the SL inventory void. As my father used to say to me and my siblings "ungrateful wretches!"

Guess I did not notice any choice for 512 vs. 1024, I will check for this next time when I am ready to "swap".

I was probably just focused on finding "Sakura".

That happened to me when Newbrooke came out. I didn't realize at first that the 1024 had 512 homes in the controller.

There's a fine line between taking inspiration from someone's home and blatantly stealing all of their ideas.  Flattering though it may be, no one likes having their individuality stolen, and that's what this is.  I have not had an entire home replicated, but certainly have had many design choices suddenly appear in nearby homes.  It usually pushes me to use more items that people can't simply go buy.  I am not a good enough builder to do that with everything, but it helps that I make my own add-ons and heavily modify many purchases.  I enjoy having things that no one else has, but in a world where a talented person could conceivably build anything, it is impossible to guarantee uniqueness.

This happened to my mom in RL. She was not a professional interior designer, but she could have been. It would drive her a little crazy when her best friend and neighbor would go out and buy the same exact piece of furniture after she saw it at our house. In SL, I won't even rez the same house as my neighbors. Not that I'm at all as gifted as my late mother (or my RL brother who was an interior designer until a massive stroke put an end to his career.)

    Hi Marianne,

Thanks for that tip,👍👍👍 I was just about to create a new post on that very subject.
One thing I did find. It wasn't until I looked on the map from the link that I could see the name change. I was, perhaps stupidly, expecting the name change on the landmark history itself.

It does change on the landmark history (at least on the official viewer). That's how I confirm that a parcel has changed hands unless they are sneaky and name the parcel Linden Home.

I'd just like to say this is the theme I've been waiting for since Bellisseria was born, and it hasn't disappointed! I've lost interest in SL for quite a while, over a year, but when I got the notification from the LH update thread, I dropped everything and flew to the land page! After seeing the variety of parcels and the stunning community center, the urge to keep logging in is coming back, beyond the house hunting.

I'm so happy there are 2 lot sizes, because the smaller ones really appeal to me, and I actually like the ones that are not on water better, because of the serene feeling landscape. There's definitely something for everyone in this theme, so thank you team Mole ❤️

Proof that it's different strokes for different folks. That's what is so wonderful about Bellisseria!

Your spot sounds like a nice location. I ended up along a canal as well. I had dreamed of a nice wide river with beautiful water view (maybe even a waterfall) instead of a narrow street-like canal.. but as you said, the 512 water picks tend to get less frequent after the first day. I am pretty sure that if I try to "trade up," I will end up "trading down" instead. My canal spot is not near a rez zone but at least it is "water."

Your spot near a boat rez zone sounds really nice. It is probably also a bit wider. I think you are wise to hang on to it for a bit.

I had an alt that had come out of time out this morning, so I rolled for a 1024, got an interior spot. Rolled again and thought, I got the same house again! Turns out to be in the same region, but on the edge of a void. Sakura is reviving my love of photography. Here's a pic of the 512 and 1024. I already gave the 1024 a parcel name.

  12. I learned my lesson with Newbrooke. Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth. Few of the houses I landed after the first day of release were located on water. I’m going to let my Sakura 512 simmer for awhile on the canal near a public boat rez zone.

No. You can only rez on your own land or on rez zones. I haven't explored the waterways yet, but I bet many of them connect to the bay at Kodokuna Josei. From there you can sail south to the Stilt Homes. I expect the Moles will put water rez zones on the coast, but the coastline is unfinished at this time. I'm sure Stranger Tides does have water rez zones, though.

    Water Rez Zone at Shobu:

I made the trek in one of the little boats available in Shobu and discovered that Stranger Tides is all on-water stilts. The nearest public rez zones are in Bon Vivant and Shell Cove (?). I’ m sure someone will correct me. 😉

  14. Being single in SL for most of 15 years, I have never known your pain, @Gemma Jackman I find it really ironic, since most furniture is geared toward adult entertainment. I lost my RL husband shortly after joining. SL helped to navigate the grief. I’m happy there are benches to take in the spectacular views strategically placed throughout Belli. You’re more fortunate than you know.

Finding that balance and trying to hit that sweet spot is literally what we do every day... from the largest of large scale to the tiny details that largely go unnoticed but matter... from where whole themes and regions can go on the world map, to how much greenery we can add around theme and still come in under our LI budget, to which plantings to choose from in our tool kit that compliment one another and not clash, to which particular tree best fits between two particular houses. That's our job, and we have a whole team of people who do it all day every day to the best of our ability. ;)

And I thank you folks every day for the hidden (and not so hidden ) gems I encounter in my exploration of Bellisseria. My recent train trip from Randelsham was incredibly delightful and scenic. The best part was that I could participate in group chats without worrying if I would drive up onto someone’s  lawn or float into range of someone’s security system. That’s definitely a win!
