  1. Hi, Andrea I have two listings that had my image but the wrong description/price/merchant listed. When clicked, both defaulted to the Marketplace Home Page. One of the two designers no longer has a MP store and cannot be found in People Search in SL. The other merchant has a rather large MP store which also has a LOT of borked listings. I sent an IM and a notecard to her but her SL profiles says she's not in SL much anymore and I have heard nothing back from her. Pearl (who began this thread) and I both submitted tickets re: this situation and both of us posted in this thread re: the responses we received. Eventually it led to Brooke Linden contacting each of us and asking for us to submit another ticket with specific info which we both did and posted in this thread. As a result, my borked listings were corrected, but so far the incorrect ones are *also* still listed on my MP store as well. I'm happy that at least customers can purchase the two items again. I would suggest going the ticket route. Not sure if anyone else who has posted has done that but it is apparently how my listings were corrected.
  2. Toysoldier Thor wrote: how do u easily get a list of all your listing numbers? I relisted 19 of my listings that were unlisted prior to DD. I relisted them as DD. so far no problems with any of my DD as well as my main MB listings. I'm not sure how to "easily" get a list of all my item numbers. If someone knows how I'd love to know that as well. All I've been doing is going into edit my items, then hover my cursor over the item in that list and the item number shows up in the URL at the bottom left of my browser - the item number being the last of the string.
  3. Update: I decided to live dangerously and reactivate 4 items. (I am using the Magic Box.) I went through the edit/reactivate procedure on the MP, update listing, synch with MB, etc. Checked the listing in preview -all looked ok...UNTIL I then went to the store listings and the images were not of my products but of sandals. I thought, oh great....new ticket to get this one straightened out, or just deactivate. However, I decided to go through the entire procedure again, reuploaded the correct images, updated, resynched, this time I also clicked on the MB to initialize it and voila! listings correct. Whew!!! I'm assuming I was able to change the incorrect images because they are still "live" someplace vs. merchants who are no longer listing on the MP but then that doesn't address the issue of not being able to change the images for merchant listings where the owner of the incorrect image is still around. I checked the item numbers and they are all also in the 141xxx series. The two borked listings are still on my MP along with their corresponding correct listings. Just updating in case it helps anyone or sheds any light on the current bugs...or maybe makes them murkier.
  4. Hi Benski If you are responding to my post, please note where I said I *cannot* use any of the new viewers currently due to my PC not being SSE2 enabled. I even tried opening LL v2, which previously ran on my machine, but it automatically updated itself to v3 and gave an error message. Same with Firestorm and even the upgrade to Phoenix. Sooooooo...I would love to try Firestorm and expect I will - hopefully sooner than later. Just reiterating that I'm not being stubborn about not using a newer viewer but financially am unable to atm.
  5. Brooke Portilo wrote: thanks for all the replies.. Phoenix ?? outdated.. lol i was still on viewer 1 until just 3 weeks ago.. i know i know.. i heard terrible things about firestorm so im not sure if i want to go that route.. ugh.. i love my magic box .. Hi Brooke You sound like me. For years I kept using the v1 Nicholaz viewers until v2 came out and Nicholaz quit making his viewers then. I have been using Phoenix since it came out and love it. Also, due to having an older PC which I cannot easily afford to replace atm, I'm unable to use Firestorm. Back to your question...the new "Received Items" folder showed up in my inventory when I purchased the green bear on the MP homepage. I have been weeding through and rearranging inventory a lot lately so all my folders are very familiar to me. At the end of last week or beginning of this week (this is all starting to blur together now...lol) I noticed a "Merchant Outbox" folder that I know was not there prior. I posted elsewhere on this forum about the possibility of using Phoenix for DD, which has already been mentioned here. I sure hope it can be. I realize the whole "technology marches on" thing and if I could purchase a new PC I would every year being a quasi-geek. But my finances have not kept beat with the drummer and having to purchase a new PC when my current one works fine with every program I use, including two very graphics-intensive MMORPGs, having to buy one just so I can continue selling on the MP irks me.
  6. Lando Boronski wrote: Hi, Marcus Your outbox works flawlessly in all respects: for now. This ^^ I can say the same thing about my Magic Box. In approximately 4 years of using it I never had any issues with it; no failed deliveries, messed up orders, or incorrect listings. I understand from reading here that other merchants did have some issues and after DD was implemented, although I am still using my Magic Box, my store had several mismatched listings which fell into the 141xxxx range of listings.
  7. Anaiya Arnold wrote: I notice that I've had "boosted" sales volume a couple of times when other "bigger sellers" have complained about sudden drop offs in sales volume, and I usually have low sales volume, so I wonder if it is more about search (as I see Medhue is suggesting). This would explain why usually good volume sellers are complaining when my sales go up since if the search borks placement for products that should be fairly high up in placement, then naturally someone's products are being promoted above where they actually belong in search results, for instance smaller sellers with low sales volume like myself. (Emphasis mine) Probably right on there, Anaiya and Medhue. I didn't even factor in search.

  9. Dartagan Shepherd wrote: I've only seen them use email for marketing type announcements for quite a while. There has always been a problem getting an often updated single coherent space for information. Knowledge base is sometimes updated, info sometimes given on the merchant group in-world, occassionally on Twitter, a rarely updated page for marketplace development on the wiki. also a search related page on the wiki I believe for the marketplace that hasn't been updated in a while. And of course that old standby, the Jira. I'm not even getting the marketing announcement updates via email. I think my not receiving them any longer coincides with the approximate time the old forums were shut down and these forums instituted. *Puts on my Sherlock Holmes cap and gets out a huge magnifying glass and starts sleuthing*

What do I need to do to sign up? go a little crazy and step into the parallel universe with me. Let's face it, you'll never see an email like this from them but it is nice to dream, isn't it? Ever since this mess began I feel like I'm living in a parallel universe. I've heard of that (parallel universes) but thought it was more "Area 51" stuff. I'm beginning to believe. I've fallen in the rabbit hole...maybe I'll see you on the way down...*grins*
  11. Deja Letov wrote: Czari...sorry I'm not even sure where that is, but I get emails from LL about new things, I must have signed up for something somewhere. Although I'm also on their facebook, follow many other SL users, etc. So who knows where it is, but I swear there was an option somewhere to opt into their mailing list. Ah, just saw your reply here, Deja, after I asked again on Couldyu's recent post re: the email she received from LL. I recall there being someplace to opt-in in the past...not sure how I got opted out...lol. Will try to find it. Thanks

Using this "paper & pencil" method works...but I am sure there is a more efficient way of doing this, hopefully one that does not necessitate learning spreadsheet software. Oh gosh - seriously Czari - use Excel or open office spreadsheet or whatever. Even if you do nothing more than download your monthly transactions and open them in excel to view you will save yourself so much work. Then it's only one more step to copy each month's sales + your SLM sales to a single file (use a separate tab for each cos the fields are different) and you have all your records in the one place and can do what you want with them. I do download my monthly transactions and keep them as well, which helps me pick up the in-world sales. Deja has kindly sent some info to me to help get me started. It's just this mental block I have with spreadsheets (English Lit. major here...lol). I probably just need to learn to do a couple of things to be able to keep on top of my sales with Xcel or the Open Office version, which looks a bit simpler. It's combining the downloaded transactions and somehow merging them with the SLM sales that has me baffled. Well, no time like the present to learn
  13. Thanks everyone I don't have that many listings atm. Most of my listings are seasonal so it's highly possible I'm having a dry spell. Now if I was going to subscribe to a conspiracy theory, I could think maybe because I've been so vocal in my irritation with how the Scouts handled my tickets, etc. but...I doubt it. I've been debating on making some of the more "general" ones active again, but I'm afraid to touch ANYTHING with my listings atm; don't want to make the situation worse. I plan to do a lot more with my in-world store very soon as well.
  14. Gotta love that it seems to be blaming bad delivery by Magic Boxes. BTW, receiving update emails like that from LL is what I was asking about in another post and didn't receive an answer because it was confused with product sales notifications. Anyway, I haven't received any official notifications like that from LL for a LONG time. What do I need to do to sign up?
  15. ...or maybe it's not so strange given the current massive borkage on the MP... When DD went live and continuing through the time that the borked listings were discovered, I was still selling the average number of products per day/week on the MP as usual. For the last week, however, I have sold nothing on the MP. I've seen other merchants post the same situation. This could be due to the word getting out that the MP is having major issues or customers who have been burned with the mixup and not currently using the MP, but due to the vast number of SL residents who don't read the forums and are generally clueless to LL "happenings," it's hard to believe that no one is purchasing on the MP. It could be just my store going through a dry spell. Just find this odd so posting to see if others are experiencing a total lack of sales in the past week or so.
  16. Deja Letov wrote: So far I do a quick search in my database to see if they've purchased from me before on the marketplace. <snip> Get out of wordpad because there is no way to do anything with that data you have collected. I know spreadsheets suck but trust me, a quick excel sheet is the answer for you...and you don't need to worry about keeping it all alphabetized yourself. You can sort. You can total things, etc. Honestly, I could send you a quick and dirty spreadsheet that has everything you mentioned in your wordpad, you could open it and know EXACTLY how to use it without learning a damn thing. I just knew I would have to learn spreadsheet software someday...lol. Thank you for your response, Deja. I'm assuming the database you look at is the sales listed on the MP or is that your software you mentioned? The wordpad works atm just for a quick glance to see if someone has purchased from me before and what they purchased, but you're right in that I can't do any calculations.
  17. Thank you for adding that to the jira, Argus. I didn't even think of that. More great work!! Woot!!!!
  18. Deja, re: your thank you notes, I have a question, please About two years ago I began sending thank you notes to my customers the first time she purchased one of my items. (Actually I sent thank-you IMs since sometimes people don't read notecards from unknown people or if it looks like a store ad.) Since I'm allergic to numbers and spreadsheets are all "Greek to me," I keep an alphabatized list of customers in wordpad with the purchase date, item/s purchased, and whether it was from the MP or in-world. Even with a very small shop, this list is now quite lengthy and becoming a bit unwieldy. Using this "paper & pencil" method works...but I am sure there is a more efficient way of doing this, hopefully one that does not necessitate learning spreadsheet software. So, I was interested in how you keep track of the customers to whom you have sent thank-you notes, or do you send one for each purchase regardless if that customer has purchased from you before? Thanks for any input on this.
  19. Maybe it's a case of - Not all 140000 items are borked, but all the borked items are in the 140000 range. It would be interesting to hear if anyone has a borked item *not* in this range. Also, one of my borked listings was linked to a MP store with a LOT of items. While looking through that store I noticed tons of those listings were borked. I sent an IM and notecard to the merchant to let her know in case she had not heard. Her profile says she is not in SL much anymore and I have not heard anything back from her. (I sent this last week.) I am thinking there are many merchants who have borked listings, are losing sales, and have no idea whatsoever.
  20. Arwen Serpente wrote: Marcus, where is the listing number? I can't for the life of me find where to look to check on this 14xxxxx range or any other for that matter. Hi Arwen...not Marcus but I can answer your question. Go to My Marketplace-Merchant Home-Manage Listings and in the edit listing of your items, just hover your cursor over any item and in the bottom left-hand corner of your browser (at least on Firefox), the URL for the listing will show up with the number on the end being the item number.
  21. Ilyra Chardin wrote: So I don't understand what any of you mean when you say the email option feature is not long available or that it hasn't worked. I wasn't even talking about the email notifications....lol. I probably confused the entire issue. I was just asking, based on a comment by Deja above, how to be notified by SL when something new (like DD) is going to be rolled out. Like, is there some box to check on the website somewhere? Sorry for the confusion. :matte-motes-bashful-cute-2:

Is there something I need to set to receive notices from SL? I thought I had it set and for years received SL updates, but just realized I haven't in awhile. I may not have set something that is needed when LL changed to this forum structure. I did know about DD, having heard about it last year, but at the time it was an indefinite "sometime in the future." I definitely want to make sure I get SL notices, and will be definitely checking in here!!! there no longer is a post sales delivery email notice (sad since I would want this email notice restored). All I get from my DD sold items is the email notice of the sale TX.... not the Delivery notice. With MB I am getting the delivery notice still. Thank you for responding, Toy What I was referring to was the bolded part (emphasis mine) in Deja's post above. If I understand correctly, that was not a reference to email notification of sales, but email update notices from SL about upcoming changes, etc. I recall receiving emails of that nature a couple of years ago but have not for a long time, so was asking how I would go about receiving that info from SL. Of course I could consistently check the status reports as well on the home page; but if there is some type of email notification on upcoming changes from SL, I definitely want to be in on it.
  23. Clyde Lindman wrote: I've also received non-delivery compalints from 2 customers who, it turns out were still using V1 TPVs, so I've prepared a notecard to be sent out to all non-delivery complaints ot explain how and on what viewers DD works. My understanding at present is that only the new viewers are neccessary for merchants to LIST items re: DD. The V1 viewers can RECEIVE fine. The listing of the "DD Green Bear" on the MP home page encourages people to purchase one of those for 0L, again as I understand it, to have the "Items Received" folder show up in inventory. I am using a v1 Phoenix viewer and have purchased several products over the last few days so you might be giving incorrect info to your customers.

  25. And, on the other hand, I've actually never had a single problem with the Magic Boxes for the last 5 years beginning with SLX and after the migration to The Marketplace (and no, I wasn't standing on Linden Land with it attached to my avatar, or hidden in my avatar or whatever, heh). I don't have as many listings on the Marketplace as many of you so not sure if that plays into it but I have been very satisfied with the Magic Boxes.
