  1. Same as everyone else thus far has said - review numbers are back but borked listings are still borked - "Snooki" is still looking for a hookup. (This is the essence of the description of one of my welcome mats...lol.)
  2. Zanara Zenovka wrote: BTW, 10 months ago, Brooke posted this, which should still apply Brooke Linden wrote: Will Magic Boxes always be available? Eventually Magic Boxes will be retired, but no firm date has been set. We have identified success metrics and merchant confidence levels that will need to be met before we set dates for this step. Brooke Yes, I recall that post and hearing that "someday" Magic Boxes will not be used. Doesn't mean I still don't prefer them.
  3. Dora Gustafson wrote: A agree a 100 percent and I never disagreed, let us bring back the trade inworld. I never understood why anyone would buy an animation, a skin or a house without seeing it or testing it first, like we do inworld What I have found interesting is a sale I will get on the MP and the customer shows up on my shop visitor's list so they apparently came into the shop to check out the item, but then purchased it on the MP. I know the MP is convenient for many people to shop when they can't be in-world, or if they are lagging, etc., but I wonder what the psychology is of coming to the store, then purchasing on the MP. The only thing I can think of is they want to see it (agree totally with you, Dora) and maybe think about it before purchase.
  4. Dartagan Shepherd wrote: The best strategy for being a merchant in SL is something I posted way back in on SLX roughly 4 years ago. Supplement your income with other things and don't ever neglect your RL, your contacts, your family and friends and don't burn any bridges. Even WoW will tell you not to neglect your first life (although their disclaimer relates to their responsibility with minors) in their tips of the day at the login screen (although this applies in SL to not only life but personal income). I couldn't agree more re: RL. I just began playing WoW for the first time in December (I was a diehard EQ gamer...lol) and the first time I saw that statement by WoW on login I was like...that is amazing and wonderful!!!!
  5. Morgaine Christensen wrote: I am not overly pleased I am forced to have to use V2/3 in order to manage MP for uploads. While Firestorm is the most palatable V2/3 viewer so far, it still is not the same especailly when it comes to building. This is my number 1 issue with the whole change. In my case my PC can't even run the new viewers, much less the hassle of using them. That is, of course my own problem - currently don't have a newer PC - but I'm glad to see that you would prefer not to use the new viewers either.
  6. Darrius Gothly wrote: Considering that I'm still waiting (along with a lot of other folks) for the release of ANS before I really engage in converting to DD ... I vote "YES" on this suggestion Sera. This is probably a really stupid question, but what is ANS, please? And I vote yes as well....actually I vote we keep the Magic Boxes but since that is unlikely....
  7. Yeaaaaaaa - good to see you Sera, Darrius, and Ann (and anyone else who posts while I'm posting this). Yes, closing the MP would be the best idea at this point. I'm not going to touch a thing on my end - afraid I might inadvertenly through something else out of whack. lol Edit: I'm thinking of changing my shop tag line to: Relive the fun of exploring an attic for hidden treasures and not knowing if what you see is what you'll get.
  8. I received not only the post by CommerceTeam Linden above, but a personal apology from Dakota Linden for the way my ticket was handled and an assurance that Linden Lab is addressing that particular situation. He also supplied the link to a post for the SL community: http://status.secondlifegrid.net/2012/03/28/post1605/ Is everyone at work, asleep, or in another time zone? I'm starting to miss you all.
  9. Thank you for that response, CommerceTeam Linden. I am encouraged by this effort.
  10. Marcus Hancroft wrote: My business partner, who the sim belonged to, is in the hospital in a coma. So I am now looking for a new inworld location to open my store again! I am so very sorry to hear about your business partner, Marcus.
  11. I have this post bookmarked and totally agree with you. 99% of my sales are from the MP but I assume it is at least partially because I got lazy and quit doing any type of in-world publicity. I know of two merchants who basically live in their stores, personally greet each arriving customer and, at least in the case of one of the two, the customers became some of her best friends. Both merchants make an excellent income from their stores. Maybe this MP fiasco has actually helped us in the long run. Thank you, Deja, for posting!
  12. Darrius Gothly wrote: Czari, I'm sitting here with my mouth hanging open, just aghast at the level of disrespect this response demonstrates. I used to head up a support department, and I can promise you that had any of my staff answered a customer complaint in this manner, I would have escorted them to HR for their exit interview ... on the spot. I just cannot believe that the limits of support stated in the response are real. Clearly someone at the 3rd party support agency totally misunderstood the dates and timing. But beyond that, I cannot believe that this particular agent blew you off with such disregard and disrespect. It's just .. just ... I don't even have the words for it. Unacceptable. I'm glad you posted this here. Let's see what Brooke and/or CTL have to say about this when they come into work. I'm hoping they fix this (the bug / issue) as quickly as possible. But I'm also hopeful that they correct the miscommunication between the Lab and the outside support agency. Gooooood morning, Darrius! After the first ticket response from that person with the classic "I don't know" answer, this didn't surprise me. I'm getting used to having to submit a ticket twice for some type of answer. But yes, you are totally right. ANY company I've ever worked for that had an employee treat a customer like we're all being treated would have had HR standing over their desk saying, "Get a box." (Not a Magic Box though...lol...no pun intended.) I had my first good laugh of the day while reading the jira for this issue - someone posted (paraphrased) - This is making shopping much more fun. I never know what product I will receive.
  13. Pearl Vollmar wrote: Mine are not the oldest but they are all the same type of product: hairbases. Ohhhhhhh, mine are all the same product type as well, Pearl. In my case welcome mats. (Sorry for the totem posts everyone - just woke up and trying to catch up with the latest.)
  14. Sapphy Rotaru wrote: Could be a coincidence but every borked store i have looked at so far, when you sort the listings to 'Age-Oldest First' you find the borked items are the oldest ones. I just looked at a friends store & theres only one item borked & its the oldest one. At the very least this could help merchants with many pages of listings identify a problem or lack of. I've heard that from some merchants re: age of item, but my borked items were not the oldest so, at least for me, it was random.
  15. Ah! That's because Dakota Linden replied to you. He sent me the "correct answer" (well *an* answer instead of "I don't know) when I reopened the ticket re: what will happen to my MP items if I'm unable to migrate by the cutoff date. Thank you for posting that, Pearl.
  16. Zanara Zenovka wrote: Czari Zenovka wrote: Thank you for contacting Linden l;ab Support. I'm sorry, but as of March 21, 2012, Linden Lab no longer supports the Magic Box application. ... wha?? ... bu... huh? LOL - just noticed the typo in that line. Must have been a long night for Scouts and maybe Lindens.
  17. Sera Lok wrote: All I can say is WOW. I did learn some time ago that Scouts are really no help at all, but this is just blatant ignorance and laziness. That's insane and ridiculous and they really need to improve their Customer Service team. STILL! This is the same person who, for my ticket asking if I am unable to migrate to DD by the cutoff date (need a new PC to run new viewers) basically said "I don't know."
  18. Okkkkkkkaaayyyyy...I got a response to the ticket I opened re: this issue. The reply is as follows: Case: 01379655 Avatar: Czari Zenovka Type: General Marketplace Issues Status: Waiting for Customer Acceptance Hello Czari Zenovka! Thank you for contacting Linden l;ab Support. I'm sorry, but as of March 21, 2012, Linden Lab no longer supports the Magic Box application. Please visit http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Marketplace-Direct-Delivery-migration-guide/ta-p/1293139 to upgrade to the new Marketplace Direct Delivery Service. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Regards, JenniferB Scout Linden Lab Support Where was this March 21, 2012 date plucked from?!?!?! I re-opened the ticket and stated that, per the link SHE provided, the DD migration schedule is: Here is the planned migration schedule in 2012: April 2 through 13, 2012: Inworld Q&A sessions on using and migrating to Direct Delivery April 18, 2012: All listings priced L$10 and lower must use Direct Delivery May 16, 2012: Magic Boxes no longer allowed for any Marketplace listing Perhaps the key word in JenniferB's response was supported instead of allowed. However, I also noted in my response these issues were also occurring for merchants who HAD migrated to DD and provided the Jira link. With that clever little word "supported" I'm expecting LL to say they can't help me anymore. As an ironic sidenote, just after receiving this ticket "response," I received email notice of another sale. EDIT TO ADD: For those of you who have migrated to DD, are having these issues, and submitted a ticket, what is the response you are getting? LL will have to come up with something besides "Magic Boxes are no longer supported."
  19. Thanks so much, Darrius I would go make my whole store inactive for the moment, but then my listings might not ever get straightened out. This reminds me of a pledge prank when I was in college. While we were in a meeting, the pledges switched all of our dresser drawers - they took one of my drawers and put it in another person's dresser, BUT that didn't necessarily mean their drawer was in *my* dresser. Oh no...it was a mess! For the rest of the night we were all playing "Find our drawers" (errr, dresser drawers, that is).
  20. It takes me back to my borked listing. (I was almost afraid to click on it...lol.) The ummm, X-rated one's description doesn't even look like a MP listing but more like a single's ad. I clicked on the "designer name" in that listing and get a blank MP screen which, to me, indicates that person has no products on the MP, although at this point...who knows!
  21. Super String wrote: anybody knows that if there's any option to temporarily close or hide stores?? Under the previous MP system we could mark items as inactive which hid them from being seen. I did that with my seasonal items, and a great deal of my items are seasonal. I just tried to make one of my items inactive and now the whole interface has changed that if it can still be done, I didn't see how. I also tried to activate one of my inactive listings. Couldn't figure out how to do that either, if possible now. It was recommended by the MP previously to make items inactive rather than delisting them if the merchant didn't want them seen for whatever reason. Does anyone who has worked with the new interface know if there is a way to make items inactive now, please?
  22. Me again Checking my messed up listings by putting them in shopping cart as you suggested. *One of the borked listings no longer appears in the MP. *Clicking on my now X-rated description item takes me to the main MP home page, complete with "Bonfire Bear." However, for this borked listing: ...that has the wrong item name, price, and designer - after taking it through the shopping cart procedure I get this which replicates all the incorrect info: EDIT TO ADD: I just checked and my items that are borked are showing up as "Unassociated Listings" - interesting.
