Tickets are being handled by Dakota and he (or is it a she?) he only told me what everyone who's reading this thread and the jira already know. My last response was that they were interested in knowing about products that are showing the wrong the pictures only and cannot be edited by us. The advice is still the same, edit the product and change the picture yourself. If you can't, the other merchant has to edit their product, not you. Thanks, Pearl. I didn't even want to go in world to look at the note from Brooke. But I did; haven't done anything yet as I didn't have the mental energy. How did you contact Brooke directly, Pearl. Notecard, IM? I figured a ticket wasn't going to help. Spent some time troubleshooting one of my listings tonight - the one that now displays the borked one and correct one. The borked one does not show up in my list when I go into edit mode. In the store clicking on either the name or image takes me to the MP home page. Did a search for merchant name on borked listing and landed on a blank MP page; thus it appears this person had listings at one time, but no longer does. Tried people search in world - no results. Therefore, there is no way I can do anything with that listing. I'm afraid to touch the other one at the moment!

Could be a good use of time for entertainment purposes. *grins* I do agree with your post, however, Toy! Do you mean like my POPCORN PROTEST of 2009 ? lol We could have a DD Bear Burning 0f 2012 for this meeting. Ohhhh man!!! I missed the Popcorn Protest...dang!!!!!
  3. Ok, just checked my email and I got this: Brooke Linden has offered you 'Please Submit Details' in Second Life. Log in to accept or decline the offer. Probably the same card Pearl got...are other merchants receiving these? I'm too tired and irritated to go in world and start messing with stuff atm.
  4. Oh GAH, Pearl!!!!! And coming from Dakota, that scares me. I haven't logged into world today and haven't checked email yet, but I DID try to delete the wrong image in mine and upload the correct image. (Actually the correct image was showing on the MP with the wrong description, but when I went in to edit there was a different image.) *Rubs my temples* At least as of last night I couldn't even delete the listing. This morning that listing appears twice...one still the wrong listing and one with the right info. Soooo....does that mean *if* this works that merchants will have 2 listings of an item, one right/one wrong? I still say roll back the MP.

  6. That's the kind of manipulations to which I referred earlier. Being a word-type person, number crunching makes my head hurt, but I would so love to learn how to do some of those types of things. I need a "SL Tracker for Dummies."
  7. I'm not sure at this point that CTL relishes the Q&A meetings. At least not until this MP brewhaha mess is fixed.
  8. LOL, we were responding at the same time.
  9. Deja Letov wrote: I own a couple of the popular sales systems but I've never implemented them due to the fact that I really don't sell via a "poster" or "Vendor". As a furniture maker, most of my sales happen from the items on display. Yes I have some vendors, with my "packaged" suites, but I get lots of individual items sales. I also have an outdoor area where people can buy fountains, cemetery items, etc. I'm not about to have boxes laying around in a cemetery to buy from. Part of why people shop with me I imagine is because they can envision what it will look like on their own sim and vendors would junk it up. Anyway, these sales systems have the abilty to import Marketplace data and to use vendor scripts to track sales instantly via vendors. But is there really no way to track regular old in world "buy" rom a right click? I've asked if importing transaction history was an option and have met road blocks from everyone I've asked. Honestly, I find this odd because even people who use a ton of vendors in their place of business, they still have actual products set out for sale so are people just not tracking these sales? Has anyone found a system that would let you track sales without using vendors and just using your SL transaction history files? Morning Deja I have a very small business so what I do is DL my Transaction History from the main SL website as an .xls file and use it as my in-store tracker. Merchants who are good with Exel/spreadsheets have indicated they can manipulate the data in all kinds of ways from the transaction history. For me, it verifies what I sold on the MP and is my record of what I sold in-world.
  10. When DD first rolled out and the problems began (which now seems like forever ago instead of a week) I posted that I was getting the new bear for a bonfire of my own. You so exceeded my idea, Sassy. Love it!!!
  11. Update - There has been an interesting change on the borked MP listing that I tried to edit per the info from CTL. The borked listing is still in my listings, BUT the same listing is also there in its correct form. Two listings for the same item - one wrong, one correct. A tiny bit of progress. When this first began I sent my group a notice of what was happening and advised to not purchase my items from the MP until this is fixed. I have a similar statement on the SL part of my profile. In an attempt to let the forum-reading population know I posted this: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/General-Discussion-Forum/FYI-On-The-Marketplace-Listings/td-p/1457887 It only got two responses but 149 looks, so hopefully a few more people are clued in - and tell their friends. Reading the jira this morning and seeing that someone has been accused of stealing from another merchant plus intellectual property issues is another indicator (as if we didn't already know) how EXTREMELY serious this whole debacle is. On the plus side, through this situation and all the posting I've met some great merchants/people here with whom I may never have had opportunity to interact. Last night I logged into SL and pulled up profiles to see what various merchants here sell. I was fascinated by the creativity and plan on doing some in-world shopping.

I just hope there was family around him when he died. This is a sad sad day for me. Rotten India: Born 03/02/2009, Died 03/30/2012 I am so very sorry.

  14. Sera Lok wrote: Medhue Simoni wrote: Oh, and, I have always created all my items just outside my store entrance. This was a conscious decision to allow my customers to chat with me, and to watch as I create things. Much like Deja, I spent almost all my time in SL creating, so doing it right there for any1 to sit with me is a good thing for me and my customers. It is tough to keep a fast paced workflow with customers constantly chatting with me, but I'm used to it now. This is cool One of the merchants I refer to in either this thread or another (starting to lose track...lol) designed jewelry and did her work also near the entrance to her store. I always thought that was an excellent idea; however, I am one of these "I need total quiet and concentration to work" people and I am HORRIBLE at multi-tasking. I will likely not be able to do all my creating in my shop, but perhaps stay there when I'm doing something that takes less concentration. Now the other merchant I mentioned did not create in her shop but when not creating she was there greeting customers, rearranging items, etc.
  15. Deja Letov wrote: Czari Zenovka wrote: Dora Gustafson wrote: A agree a 100 percent and I never disagreed, let us bring back the trade inworld. I never understood why anyone would buy an animation, a skin or a house without seeing it or testing it first, like we do inworld What I have found interesting is a sale I will get on the MP and the customer shows up on my shop visitor's list so they apparently came into the shop to check out the item, but then purchased it on the MP. I know the MP is convenient for many people to shop when they can't be in-world, or if they are lagging, etc., but I wonder what the psychology is of coming to the store, then purchasing on the MP. The only thing I can think of is they want to see it (agree totally with you, Dora) and maybe think about it before purchase. I've asked this question of my customers and it's ironic but I was told by a few that they thought as merchants we would prefer it. They were being nice and said they knew the search on the marketplace was ranked by sales and said they were trying to help. That's interesting. Thank you for responding to my musings on this, Deja. Someone else on the thread suggested another reason is that customers can rate our products on the MP and/or provide feedback if they get poor customer service.
  16. Toysoldier Thor wrote: This is only happening to a few Merchants? MB and DD? I checked all my listing.... DD MB Old New Reactivated.... luckily mine are all ok. Hey Toy! Do you mean are the borked listings only happening to a few merchants or the "fix" not working? The borked listings seem fairly prevalent amongst the merchants on this forum (MB & DD both) but there is no telling how many merchants have borked listings and they either do not post or aren't yet aware. I'm sorry if I misunderstood to which you were referring.
  17. Hi, and welcome to SL, Donnie Pretty much what everyone else has said except I will emphasize again that in many people's opinions Bloodlines is akin to a pyramid marketing scheme and will generally get you laughed at, at best and banned from some places at worst. Anyone know if Hunger is still around? That one was worse in some ways so personally I would avoid both. (EDIT TO ADD: By Hunger I am *not* referring to "The Hunger Games" as in the book/current movie. I think the SL vampire group that used a HUD - Heads up Display - was called "The Hunger" or just "Hunger." ) That said, there are a ton of vampire communities in SL. Use the "Search" function, type in "vampires" and that will get you started with a list of some places to check out. As a sidenote: I was IM'd one night a year or so ago when I was at a local dance venue. It turned out to be someone rping a vampire but he did it VERY well. He was not associated with Bloodlines/Hunger - he was just an awesome rper and never stepped out of character. You could tell he had taken time to achieve his avatar look. Although being a vampire's "blood doll" was not my thing, thus he and I parted, he was one of the best rpers in any genre I've encountered.

  19. Welcome to the "party" and see the thread about 6 threads down that begins with ATTENTION: (Marketplace Items Borked) - not sure of the exact title, but it's the one that is now 14 pages. You are not alone.
  20. I did the steps listed by CommerceTeam above. When I opened my store's edit window for one of the borked listings, I was surprised to see everything correct except the photo, which was of a sneaker...lol. All the accompanying descriptive text was accurate as was the listing...but the photo was wrong. What was showing on the MP was the correct image but wrong everything else. I deleted the sneaker image, replaced it with the correct image, saved, even did a synch with Magic Box. Go back to the store listings - nothing has changed. Back to correct image/wrong info. I go back into edit to deactivate this item listing and could only get "activate" as one of the edit drop-down menu selections. I looked at the edit version of the item and saw at the top it is already marked as inactive!! Huh? Ok, I'll just unlist it. Went through that procedure and it won't go away. I had two browser windows up - one I put the direct addy to my store (ie. didn't go through the MP-My Store steps) and the other was the edit window. I kept refreshing both after I tried a change - nada.
  21. Flea Yatsenko wrote: A lot of people depend on marketplace sales to pay for land. If LL doesn't fix things, they should at least give people a grace period after the first of the month considering what's happened here. My MP sales basically supported my SL "life" and renting the land I lived on was really the only thing I "purchased" in the last 6-8 months or so. Even then I was cutting it close and dipping into SL savings I keep on an alt. Made the decision today to leave the parcel/sim I've been on for close to 5 years to save money, especially when I may not be making much, if any for awhile. That was hard - lots of sentimental memories on that land - but in the end...it's just virtual bits and bytes on a server in CA. (I have to keep telling myself that to not change my mind.)
  22. Sera Lok wrote: eta, sorry for the overuse of the word think. i can't think so well today. I think several of us may be in that situation after the mind-numbing borked listing issue uncovered last night. I stayed up way too late, drank way too much caffeine, and am over-tired but wired (hey that rhymes!) today. I actually spent about an hour in SL doing something social earlier and found my mind just blanking at moments.

Zanara Zenovka wrote: The point is that these deadlines depend on "success metrics and merchant confidence levels" Ah ok...so the "success metrics and merchant confidence levels" have not yet been met? Which of course I agree with - in fact, I never imagined something like this could go so badly ~especially~ since it has been in Beta for how long?
