I agree. I get annoyed enough by the e-mails from threads that I subscribed to on purpose. Getting flooded with unwanted default e-mails is not my idea of fun. :smileymad: The idea was to make it default for questions that people post...not for all the threads they post on & also only in the answers section which wouldn`t affect the forum posters at all because, as they have already proved by all the crappy features on answers, the 2 sections have completely different rules. How many regular posters on the forums have ever even posted a question on Answers?...A handful at most, it wouldn`t be that much of a chore to unsubscribe it manually for the odd question now and then compared to the benefit for a huge number of noobs that can barely work out how to post a question let alone look around for other boxes to check. Noobs don't like getting emails by default anymore than anyone else, it was those who weren't familiar with Jive and didn't post often who ended up complaining about the emails, but at the last usergroup meeting they stated they can't do this on a per forum basis, it's a site wide setting.

  3. I would imagine it is an incorrect setting, as you point out it works as you'd expect for recently created threads.

  6. You also might want to go to the Jira: https://jira.secondlife.com/ Create an issue there, it sounds like a bug with the system unable to cope with six digit classified fees and defaulting them to 99,999.

Would you call those 10 gallons a rip off? Your analogy doesn't work. A gallon of gas does exactly the same job as the next gallon of gas, regardless of whether 10 or 20 gallons were bought, but a 135,000L ad does a lot more than a 99,999L ad. Your analogy would work IF the difference in price ONLY meant a difference in how long the ad runs for. A better analogy would be you ordered 20 gallons of gas and there was a discount because you were buying 20 gallons, but they only have ten and the per gallon rate for ten doesn't carry the discount. You wouldn't have purchased at that rate for ten, you were only purchasing because the 20 gallon rate was preferential.

If that were true then no one would bother with cheap classifieds. But that's clearly not the case given the wide range of prices paid for them. You're closer to the issue than you seem to realise, if you're not getting prime placement then paying a high price isn't worthwhile, you're better off spending a lot less for the visibility you will get.
  9. leliel Mirihi wrote: I'm failing to see how charging you less than the amount you entered is fraud and a rip off. Especially since the classified will perform as expected for the amount you did pay. The poor customer service you received as a result of this does suck tho. So rant on. I would imagine the amount chosen was to get prime placement, if you're not getting that the amount paid isn't worthwhile.
  10. You've used all your prims, if you go to world, about land, then click the objects tab, it will show you how many prims you have rezzed already. Each item consists of a number of prims, an item may be one prim, or it could be 100 prims or more.
  11. Fortunately for you The Mighty Villa aren't in the semis this year, but my Godfather is from Bolton, so I'm gonna be cheering them on
  12. If you yourself can't check the region settings, ask your landlord to do so.
  13. Ooh I wonder if this is going to be for event promotion rather than merely discussion of best practices.
  14. He did warn you and whereas I sympathise with your frustrations, you probably should have let it go. I do agree this would be a useful feature to implement.
  15. Are you on private estate or mainland? Private estate owners can disable all scripts.
  16. If an item is flagged, LL investigate and if they agree, then the item gets an official flag, so it's not just someone reporting you, someone at LL agrees with the report. They really aren't helpful with the information they provide in these reports.
  17. Yeah that's what I've always done, but the underside was the ceiling so I set one of them to trasnparent and that seems to work. The actual intersecting roof top section works fine with no real issues I've noticed.
  18. If they're getting removed it means someone at LL agrees with the report. Do your items have any remotely questionable words in them? I can see why at least five of your items might be getting flagged, people who take their clothes off are considered adult by LL, near swear words are likely to cause you a problem and a road with a number that can be considered adult is likely to cause you problems too. LL's maturity ratings are aimed at thirteen year olds by the looks of it.
  19. Thanks for the info, I didn't realise it was available.
  20. You are going to have to come over to the darkside in some form eventually, viewer 1 type searches will be binned one day.
  21. This shouldn't be a problem if I'm hearing you right, but you'll want to make the underneath of one of the intersecting rooves transparent.
  22. An Events listing forum would be useful, limited to premium or concierge members perhaps, with a limit of two events every 24 hours.
  23. Seconding The For Sale By Owner suggestion, that is an active group.
