  1. Greetings All! The Permission indicators on the right side of the Product Listing are chosen by the seller themselves. To verify the permissions on an item, look at the Contents tab of the Product Listing. If permissions on the Contents tab do not match the permissions on the right side as stated by the seller, then caution is strongly urged when buying the item. Boxed items will only show the permissions of the box itself, not the items that are in the box. If a seller has placed their items into a box and the box shows as Copy in the Contents tab, but the seller has stated in the description and in the permissions section on the right side of the listing that the items are Modify, Transfer, you assume the risk that the seller is providing the correct information since it cannot be verified before purchase. If you purchase an item and the permissions on the item in world do not match the permissions that the seller has indicated, please leave a non-hostile review on the listing stating how the permissions are different and then flag the item as Not As Advertised - Item permissions not as advertised.
  2. Amethyst Jetaime wrote: Employees of LL are supposed to make the decision, but not all of may do that and just take the items down if they are flagged. However... I can't answer for items flagged as not as advertised because I didn't buy anything to check that. As for wrong category, I did spot check a few of your store items and they weren't in the right place. Your clothes are in apparel then by sex, but not in the right sub category or even a sub sub category. Tops should be not be in Apparel » Women's but should be in Apparel » Women's >> Tops then a further subcategory such as tube top, blouse, etc. Dresses should be in more than just Apparel » Women's » Women's Dresses. They should also be in one of the subcategories too, such as formal, casual, etc. LL has gotten very picky about this, because it borks search and shows your items in more categories than they should appear in and is viewed as a way to game this search engine. So check all your listings to be sure you put them in the deepest subcategory you can. Hello Amethyst Jetaime, A Linden Lab employee does manually address all flag reports. Sometimes mistakes do happen, as we are all human, however, when a user flags an item there is no automated process that addresses the reports. With regards to items not being in an incorrect sub-category, the items are actually shown in fewer categoeies, not more, if they are not in the appropriate sub-category. Every sub-category item automatically appears in its top level category. An item in the Apparel category will ONLY be seen if someone is looking at the main Apparel category. An item in the Apparel - Women's will ONLY show up if a user is looking at the Apparel - Women's category. An item in the Women's T-Shirts, category will show when anyone is viewing the Women's T-Shirts, Women's Tops, Women's, and Apparel categories.
  3. Lasher Oh wrote: Thanks Dakota - I gave the Cache a good flushing and in addition I did an actual search with my preferred ratings. After I did that the pesky 'general' went back in the box, and my full maturity setting are now glued back in. All is well again :-) ^L^ Hi Lasher! Thank you for the update letting me know that the issue was resolved with clearing the cache and cookies.
  4. Lasher Oh wrote: Hi Dakota - Overnight my marketplace page has decided that I'm not an Adult. I always have my maturity setting selected to "General, Moderate, Adult" Now it tells me I'm only eligible for General. Whenever I try to reset the setting it partially works for the page I am on IE I see the item (my own by the way) but it won't show me the other adult related items bottom of page. To compound the problem, after changing the setting to the full monty, when I navigate to the Marketplace Main Home page my adult settings revert back to General. It's a pain in the you know where and makes editing my own adult listings double troublesome. As I said, this is an overnight problem and I'm pretty sure sure it is connected to the ongoing new search disaster. Can I kindly request that that you ask the dev team to roll back search to the original until they can figure out 'what the heck is going on" ^L^ Hello Lasher Oh. Maturity Ratings issues are not affected by the current search issues. Please try clearing your browsers cache and any Second Life cookies that may exist, then log back into the Marketplace web site and try your search again. If you continue to have issues, please create a Support Case and we will be able to research the issue further.

  8. Greetings all! We are aware of the reports of issues related to the release of the new Search on the Second Life Marketplace.  if you are experiencing any of the issues related to the new Search, please add a comment to the existing Second Life Bug Report, located here: Marketplace Search Bug Report To assist the Marketplace Team, we ask that when you add a comment, please include the following information: Affected Field:  (Demo linking, Related Items, Quick Fill, etc.) Name of Product you are editing:  (What is the name of, or link to, the item listing that you are trying to add a demo or related item) Search Term:  (What is the exact search term you have entered to try to locate the Demo, Related, or Quick Fill Templete) Screenshot:  (If possible, please provide a screenshot showing the empty search return showing the search text and the lack of results). If you are listing Adult rated items that contain profanity, we ask that you not provide the above information, however. :) Thank  you!
  9. Ladies and Gentlemen, The Second Life Forums are in no way the appropriate location for calling out other users (links to content that may violate Second Life Policy), or Flaming/Hate Speech (Name Calling). If you wish to engage in activity of that type, we cordailly invite you to use your own personal forums. 1. ALL users who are able to log into the Second Life Marketplace are encouraged to report Product Listing violations to Linden Lab. This is why each and every listing on the Marketplace has a 'Flag this item' link available. 2. There are some issues that cannot be reported through the Flag this item option. If you do not see the exact reason why you are trying to report the listing, then chances are, the team that reviews the reports cannot address the issue. 3. Every time a product is unlisted, or removed, from the Second Life Marketplace by Linden Lab an email is sent to the email address on file for your account, if you have that option enabled on the Second Life Marketplace.

Grace Itano wrote: I have had an item on Marketplace for about a week now, it is only the one item for sale in that colour, i have the same item in another colour that is also for sale, but i logged in to have a message saying my item had been marked as Spam for duplicate items. Why would it have been marked as spam to begin with, was this a linden thing or did someone report my item as spam. i have never encountered this before with any of my sale items and i really do not know what this means and if the item can still even be sold Thanks for any help on this. Hello Grace Itano, Please notify Linden Lab Customer Support by creating a Support Case and choose the Options - Marketplace - Marketplace Listing issue. Linden Lab Customer Support is the only group that can assist you with resolving the issue.
  11. Hello zuzu1990, Please make sure that your options are set to show you all maturity ratings for product listings. If you have content that is set to Moderate or Adult rating, but your options are only set to show you General Rated content, you will not see all of your listings.

  14. Dementia Darkwatch wrote: Hello, i have marketplace items that are blocked, i cannot return them to my inventory (gacha items) nor can i put them up for sale anymore, i have no idea why they where blocked or flagged when i put them in the appropiate category. there should be a fix for this so merchants can put their items up again or at least take them off the marketplace (receive items again when no copy) so we can put it back up for sale.. can someone help me please because my items are stuck now and the website told me to get a linden but i have no idea how to get a linden friendly hugs, Dementia. Hello Dementia Darkwatch, You should be able to view the entries for the items on your Manage Listings page on the Second Life Marketplace web site itself. If the item is blocked, the entry for the item will include information regarding why the item was blocked. If the items are Gatcha items, most likely they were blocked for being duplicate listings. Meaning that you already have a listing for the same item. Creating multiple/duplicate listings for the same item is not permitted on the Marketplace. Each additional copy of a Gatcha item that you have should be added to the original listing as a Stock Item. VMM Stock Items You should be able to open the folder for the blocked items in your Marketplace Listings UI Window in the viewer and move the item into the original listing as a Stock Item, then delete the duplicate folder. If you require additional assistance, or the above information and link is not the reason why the items were blocked, please create a Support Case using the Marketplace - Marketplace Item Listing option. https://support.secondlife.com/create-case/ Linden Lab Customer Support will be able to assist you further from your Support Case.
  15. Hello Joy Larkspur, I am sorry to hear that you have had an issue with your recent Marketplace Purchase. Pamela is correct. Please create a Support Case and include the Marketplace Order Number. Support will be able to investigate the issue and either ensure that the item is delivered or refund your account for the purchase attempt.
  16. Greetings All! Please remember to keep your comments to each other civil. Everyone has, and is entitiled, to their own opinion, but no one is entitled to make personal attacks against other users. If a buyer leaves a review that points out, discusses, or complains, about something that the item is not, or is not advertised to contain, the review is considered Off Topic and should be flagged as such. Merchants should reply to the review, in a civil manner, pointing out that the issue raised in the review is not applicable to the item as it is sold and advertised. With regards to the original post and the issue pointed out, if an item is NOT advertised as a Mesh item, or is not advertised as working with a Mesh item, and the review points out that the item is not Mesh, or does not work with Mesh items, then clearly the review comments are Off Topic. The Merchant should reply to the review advising that the item is not advertised as Mesh or working with Mesh. When the Flag Report is reviewed, the reviewer will then be able to read the review comments, the reply comments from the Merchant AND will review the item itself for any mention of being or working with Mesh. If the listings is confirmed not to indicate in any manner (including keywords) that it is, or will work with, Mesh, then the review will be removed from the product listing.

  18. Tamara Artis wrote: arton Rotaru wrote: That's not the point of the inflated price policy. It's meant to be fair against Linden Lab. They provide the web shop with a search engine where we can list our creations, host advertising images, descriptions etc. pp for free. If everybody would point to their in-world store, or even other e-commerce sites, with a lower prices than on the SL MP, they wont get the 5% cut on sales. That whole marketplace would be a losing bargain for them. So I think it's only fair to not use cheaper prices in-world, especially not with pointing it out in the MP listing, with even a slurl to the item. They don't provide the service for free, they charge it with the 5% of each sale we have. Hello Tamara, The Marketplace Fee is %5 for sales over L10, with a minimum fee of 1L. When the Marketplace was first created by Apotheus back when it was SLExchange, the system charged a fee to help him cover the cost of the Marketplace and Forums on the site. When Linden Lab acquired the Marketplace in 2009, the fee remained, although there were various discussions on whether or not to change it to something like a flat monthly rate based on the number of listings a merchant has, and there was even a discussion around charging user to list free items. In the end, the decision was made to keep the %5 fee for products over L10. Just as with any other fees that are paid, both in the Second Life world and in the real world, these fees help "keep the lights on". Starbucks, Kmart, Sears, Pier 1, and any, and every, other store pays fees. They pay rent to the owners of the building, or if they themselves own the land and building, they pay taxes to the city they are in. This does not make the city, or the land-owner, a party to anything that the business sells. Linden Lab provides Second Life, and the Second Life Marketplace as a service to the users. Use of the service is outlined in the Terms of Service, and the related policies that are publically posted and available to all users. The users themselves, however, are solely responsible for what they do within the service. This includes any items that they create, or sell to others. If a purchase is made from another Second Life user, only the user who sold the item can address any issues that the buyer has with that item. If you purchase an item from Macy's at your local shopping mall, and there is an issue, the owner of the Mall where the store is located will be unable to help you, even though Macy's pays rent to the Mall owner.
  19. Hello Tamara, Please report the listing using the Flag this item link, and in the options for the report choose Spam or Disallowed Listing Practices - Inflated Listing Price
  20. Greetings All! I would like to take this opportunity to address a few of the issues that have been raised in this thread. Hopefully this information will help everyone, buyers and sellers. 1. Fraud is never okay. 2. Sellers are responsible for the content that they sell. 3. Linden Lab does not intercede in business transactions between users, except in extremely rare cases. 4. Selling an item that was created by, or using an image that belongs to another user, without that users permission is a copyright violation. Linden Lab cannot, legally, do anything about those items until the original creator files a DMCA violation notification with Linden Lab. The above 4 points are outlined in the Linden Lab Terms of Service, located here: http://www.lindenlab.com/tos Sellers cannot disable and create a new store. Each store is linked directly to their avatar. If a seller removes a listing to try to hide negative reviews, then creates a new listing for the same item, please report the new listing to Linden Lab using the Flag this item link that is on every listing. Disabling or deleting a listing and creating a new listing for the same item is a violation of the Marketplace Listing Guidelines and is outlined in the Disallowed Actions section, located here: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/listing_guidelines?#re-listing-items If there is an issue with an item that you have purchased, please try to contact the seller in world. You should also add a review to the listing itself outlining the issue. Sellers are sent a notification from the Marketplace when a review is added to one of their items. Please keep in mind though that Linden Lab cannot force a seller to communicate with a buyer. This is why it is very important that buyers take the time to leave a review on their purchases. One thing to keep in mind though when reviewing an item, do not be mean. We understand that it can be very frustrating when an item that you purchase does not meet your expectations, for whatever reason, or you have had a problem with the product, but the surest way to get a review removed is to use profanity, or hate speech towards the seller. If you purchase an item through the Second Life Marketplace and the item is Copy Enabled, you can request a redelivery from Linden Lab and as a courtesy, we are happy to have the item redelivered to you. It is not necessary to explain the reason, just state that you need a redelivery of the copy enabled item and include the MKT Order Number and the line item name. Please ensure that your request for a redelivery is made within a reasonable amount of time after your purchase. If you purchased an item 1 year ago and would like a redelivery, most likely your request will be denied. However, if your purchase was made 1 week ago, we are happy to redeliver the item through the Marketplace system for you. If you purchase a copy enabled item and do not receive the item, please immediately submit a support case for Failed Marketplace Delivery and ask for a redelivery of the item. Online systems and items can have issues, unfortunately, and asking for the redelivery immediately may resolve the problem and get the item to you. Cheers All!
  21. Hello Jazmina Voom, We have reset your Merchant satus and you should no longer receive the error message.
  22. Greetings all! The use of an image that contains 10000 items does not violate the Terms of Service nor the Marketplace Listing Guidelines as long as the item being sold in the listing is included in the image. The item name and/or description should clearly indicate the item that is being sold in the listing. Most of the Gatcha creators have a master key image that shows all of the items in the particular set that was created. Many of the creators also number the items. This is seen in the name of the item on the images that you included. As an example: 18-8f8 Table Brown (Bag) 8f8 is either the Gatcha/Gacha creator or the Content Set Name. 18 Is the item number from the set Table Brown (Bag) is the name of the actual item. Anyone interested in that particular set will quickly see that the seller is offering the 8f8 Item #18 Brown Table that is still in the bag. The Terms of Service and Marketplace Listing Guidelines do not set prices for sellers. Different sellers may offer the same used items for different prices. If you do believe that changes should be made to the Marketplace Listing Guidelines or the Linden Lab Terms of Service, we encourage you to submit your suggestions in writing to the Linden Lab corporate office. http://www.lindenlab.com/
  23. Avatar Quinzet wrote: Please, Dakota...I am getting the exact same error...I went and put my name in the Google form, as well, but still get the error. 24. Ladies and Gentlemen, The Marketplace Listing Guidelines clearly outlined what is considered spam with regards to Marketplace Listings. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/listing_guidelines#keyword-spam "Item spam is creating more than one product listing for any single item" "Keyword spam is the use of words (such as brand names, item names, or other terms) that have nothing to do with the item listed so that the listing will appear in search results." There is nothing in the Marketplace Listing Guidelines nor in the Linden Lab Terms of Service, that forbids using the same image for multiple listings as long as the image shows the item being sold in the listing. This means that sellers who use a standard Gatcha Key Texture/Picture that show the full set do not violate the rules as long as the item being sold is part of the set. The seller should be very clear on which item or items in the set that the buyer will receive. If the image on the listing does not show the item that the buyer will receive, then the listing can be reported to Linden Lab using the Flag this item link that is located on every product listing on the Marketplace. A product listing with an incorrect image should be reported to Linden Lab as Item Not as Advertised - Incorrect Listing Image.
