  1. Greetings! Any disruption in communications on the grid can cause issues with the Magic Boxes. If the Grid Status Report web site shows warnings against doing transactions, saving builds, or rolling restarts, then deliveries will be impacted. It shouldn't be necessary to actually pick up the Magic Box and re-rezz it, just click on the Magic Box and choose Reset from the pop up. Then go to your Manage Inventory page and click on the Sync Marketplace to Magic Boxes button.
  2. Hello Darrius, As long as I have the item name, I can look up in our tools to see why the product was unlisted.
  3. Hello Darrius, As you know this was one of the features that was present on the old Xstreet SL web site. Any time a product was re-delivered an email was sent to both the buyer and the seller letting them know. This way when a merchant received the delivery notification from their Magic Box they could check their emails for the re-delivery notification. Unfortunately, this feature wasn't included when SLM was designed. This feature is on the product backlog for features to be implemented on the SLM web site.
  4. Hello Josh, Everything that you have posted about clearly shows that the reported listings are handled by a human. The human that handle the original report on your product felt that it would be more appropriate in one of the sub-categories. Since there isn't a sub-category just for "scultped boxes" then your product is fine in the higher category.
  5. Greetings Denjobi! Most likely one of your buyers submitted a Support Case reporting a failed delivery of the product. When that happens the order is verified and the item re-delivered. Since the Magic Box only sends a delivery message there is no way for the Magic Box to know that it is a re-delivery of the product and not the initial sale.
  6. Pamela Galli wrote: Dakota, it would be simple enough to put some kind of info up when someone starts a review, stating something to the effect that: * reviews should not involve delivery problems, as these are not done by the merchant * merchants should not be negatively rated for customer service if the customer has never contacted them These things are only fair. A merchant should only be held responsible for what he has control over; we can't control deliveries and we can't handle customer problems if they do not contact us. It is not right to be negatively reviewed for things we have not done wrong. Hey Pamela, This is a fantastic idea. And now for typical reply: Have you created a Jira Feature Request for this? LOL This is something that would need to be added to the site by the Dev Team so creating a Jira asking for that feature would put this on their radar for future updates once DD is rolled out.
  7. Hello Ishtara, It is no longer possible to leave a star rating without actually leaving review comments. On the old Xstreet SL Marketplace it was possible to leave the ratings without comments.
  8. Hello again Josh, There is a huge misconception that the issues with deliveries and sales failing is because of the shopping cart. This isn't the case. The reason why many assume that it is the problem is because the shopping cart was is the most public change to the Marketplace. The issue isn't the shopping cart, the issue is the sheer volume of sales increases since the SLM went live. The Magic Boxes cannot hold up to the demand. They are sorely outdated and the way the Magic Box processes deliveries is impacting the system. This is why Direct Delivery is such a dedicated focus. Here is how the process works. A buyer locates an item and either buys it or places it into their shopping cart. The buyer then processes the order to purchase the products. The system then polls the buyers account to transfer the funds for each item purchased. The system then contacts the sellers Magic Box and sends the delivery message. The Magic Box then attempts to locate the receiver in world and send the item. The Magic Box then attempts to reply to the SLM with the sent confirmation message. Each product sale goes through the same steps. The reason why it may appear to be the Shopping Cart is because each delay while waiting for the replies from the Magic Box adds to the queue times and lag. You can purchase 100 low demand items and not get a single failed sale, or you can buy 10 high demand items and get 3 failed sales. It is because those high demand items time out waiting for the Magic Boxes to queue and deliver all of the products. This is why limiting the number of items you have in your Magic Box can help. It may not solve the issue, but can help. If one Magic Box is in the middle of a delivery the other Magic Box can processes and deliver the item before the first one is finished. If you have 700 items in your Magic Box each order queues. The Magic Box can only deliver 1 product at a time. So if you have 10 orders for products in the same Magic Box then you add lag time to the delivery process. The 10th person has to wait for all of the other orders process first before their order will process. This means that those Sellers who have high demand items have buyers who are stacking up waiting for orders to process. Why wouldn't you assist your buyers by balancing the load across more than 1 Magic Box?
  9. Hello Mickey, Thank you for the correction on the issue that you raised. Since my focus is the Marketplace, I cannot address or answer questions regarding issues outside of my focus. Please ensure that a Jira Bug Report has been created regarding the issue and encourage other users who are having or seeing the same issue vote and comment on the Jira Bug Report.
  10. Greetings! Failed deliveries are technical issues with the system and not the fault of the Merchant. Therefore any reviews that complain about products that are not received will be immediately removed from the Product Listing when the review is reported. Reviews should be used by buyers to leave information regarding the product itself. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Writing-item-reviews-on-the-Marketplace/ta-p/954941 If any user is aware of Reviews that are reporting Failed Deliveries you may report the review using the Flag this Comment link that is located beneath every review comment.
  11. Hello Josh, The reason why I didn't answer your question is because it had already been answered in another thread. There is no way to offer a suggestion on what category the product should be placed into. If a seller does not wish to spend the time learning the categories that exist on the Marketplace they may contact Customer Support to ask what category their product should be placed into.
  12. Hello Mickey, Your question was answered when I answered your Support Case. Dishes are not furniture and the listing should have been placed into the Exterior Decor category not the Outdoor Furniture category.
  13. Greetings Lillipilli, If the product was removed/blocked you will be unable to edit the listing. You will need to submit a Support Case to have the product unblocked so that you can bring the listing into compliance.
  14. Greetings Josh! Nice statistics. There are 2 types of Failed Deliveries. 1. Failed Sale. This is when the sale itself fails for whatever reason. The order on the SLM web site will show an undelivered status on the order. 2. Failed Delivery. This is where the buyer doesn't receive the actual object even though it was sent to them in world. The SLM Order shows delivered but the buyer/receiver says that they didn't get the item. When discussing failed deliveries it is important to indicate which one you are actually talking about. If you are talking only about Failed Sales, then the Magic Box may or may not be the problem, so rezzing more Magic Boxes wont resolve the issue if the failed sale isn't because of the Magic Box. So in that regard, you would be correct. It wouldn't matter how many products you have or how many Magic Boxes you have. You would still have the problem. Failed deliveries on the other hand are caused by different reasons, some of which are Magic Box related, but most are not. If the issues with the failed delivery were not caused by the Magic Box then rezzing more Magic Boxes in world won't resolve the problem. However, none of the above means a merchant shouldn't have multiple Magic Boxes. Here are the reasons why sales and deliveries fail: 1. If the region where your Magic Box is down or in the middle of a restart, then the sale will fail because the web site will be unable to contact the Magic Box. 2. If the communications on the region are borked and the Magic Box cannot receive or send out messages to the rest of the grid, then the sale will fail. 3. If the Magic Box is backed up trying to deliver dozens of products from sales. 4. If the buyer/receiver placed the seller on mute 5. If the buyer/receiver has the Magic Box on mute. 6. If the buyer/receiver has their privacy settings to not accept communications from people not on their friends list. 7. The buyer/receiver has capped messages. 8. The buyer/receiver crashes before clicking on the accept button to actually accept the deliveries. 9. The buyer/receiver accidentally declines the delivery of the product. 10. The scripts in the Magic Box become corrupted. 1, 2, 3, and 10 above can all be helped by having extra Magic Boxes on different regions. 3 can be solved by keeping less than 100 items in each Magic Box to keep the Magic Box from backing up too much with deliveries. If one region is having issues the Magic Box on another region should be able to handle the deliveries of the products. If you keep less than 100 items in the Magic Box then you limit the chances of the Magic Boxes backing up with orders and timing out the sale on the SLM web site. If you have free items you should keep those items in a separate Magic Box from your pay products. We all know that free items will be purchased in far greater numbers than paid for products so keeping the freebies separate from the paid for items will keep the paid for items from being affected by any issues with the Freebie items Magic Box. So while your statistics may be true for your situation, it doesn't seem to take into consideration all of the other issues that cause failed sales and deliveries and appears to only pertain to that one, very narrow, situation that you are seeing.
  15. Greetings Isadora Corral, If you review your Magic Box status page you will see that the system is not reporting a Magic Box for your account. Your Magic Box must remain in world at all times in order to deliver your products that are sold through the Second Life Marketplace. This is why all of your products are showing as Unavailable on your Manage Inventory page. If your Magic Box is in world then please follow these steps to reset the box. 1. Go to your Magic Box Status Page that is linked under your Merchant Home Page on the Second Life Marketplace and remove all of the Magic Boxes you have listed there. 2. Go in-world and "Touch" each Magic Box and select Reset from the popup menu that appears. 3. Wait. Do not reset your Boxes again during this time or you will risk having your Box show up with incorrect data and your items will remain inactive). The Magic Box colors will change during the communication process. Once the Magic Box returns to the default color, the communication process is complete and the Magic Box should be re-linked to the web site. 4. After the Magic Box color changes back to the default, go to your Manage Inventory page on the Second Life Marketplace and click on the "Sync Marketplace with Magic Boxes" button located on the right side of the page.
  16. Hello Harmony, You may search the forums for all posts regarding Direct Delivery for answers to your questions regarding why the Magic Box scripts have not been updated.
  17. Greetings! There is a category on the Second Life Marketplace web site for listing coupons, gift cards, and vouchers, located here: Business » Retail » Gift Cards & Vouchers Please ensure that your listing complies with the Marketplace Listing Guidelines. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/listing_guidelines
  18. Harmony Deschanel wrote: Really Linden Lab, how long has the marketplace been up and the magic boxes still take you to XStreet's website when you click them? I was recently testing this and was amazed it was trying to take me to that website and then when it redirected you to the marketplace it didn't even attempt to take you to the store I was looking for. Is this going to get fixed anytime soon? Marketplace has been out, what, over a year now and this is still happening? This needs to be fixed now. Greetings! Since the Magic Boxes were created for the Xstreet SL web site if anyone clicks on them, they will be taken to the Xstreet SL web site. To prevent this, place your Magic Box in a location outside of public access.
  19. Greetings Emahho! Your products will always show up under the Unassociated Inventory column. This does not affect your actual product listings on the Second Life Marketplace web site. To see your active listings go to your Manage Inventory page and view the entries located there or you may view your Second Life Marketplace store. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/stores/54428 If there are no items showing on your store, check the entries on your Manage Inventory list. Have you created product listings for the items? (if the entry on your Manage Inventory list says "create" it means you have not created the listing yet) Are they showing as active? (if there is a link that says "unlist" on the entry then you know the product is active. If the entry has a link that says "list" then it means your product is unlisted) Are any of them set to the Adult Maturity Rating? (if they are, you must enable the viewing of Adult Content in order to see your products) I have reviewed your Manage Inventory page and all except 1 entry says "create" on it, which means you have never created a product listing for the item. The other product has "list" on it, meaning you created the listing, but never actually listed it in the Marketplace. You will need to click on the "list" link to activate that product listing.
  20. Greetings! If you find a product in the Second Life, including through the Second Life Marketplace, that violates the Terms of Service, including for Age Play, please file an Abuse Report against the product. This will ensure that the product is investigated properly for the violation and action taken, if necessary, against the item or the seller. Regards, Dakota Linden -- Linden Lab SL Marketplace Customer Support https://marketplace.secondlife.com/ http://www.secondlife.com
  21. Hello Rya, I said reporting the positive review to Customer Support just because it "might" be from an alt shouldn't be done. Please also keep in mind that the previous owners of Xstreet ran a 3rd party, private web site. This is no longer the case. The Second Life Marketplace is open and available to all Second Life Users and is governed under the Terms of Service and the policies regarding how infractions are handled by Linden Lab. The old owners of the Xstreet SL web site were completely free to make any rules they wanted, enforce any rules they wanted and ban people at will. This is no longer the case.
  22. Greetings! Item reviews are subject to the Second Life Terms of Service and the Marketplace Listing Guidelines. http://secondlife.com/corporate/tos.php 8.2 You will not post or transmit prohibited Content, including any Content that is illegal, harassing or violates any person's rights. "(ii) Impersonate any person or entity without their consent, or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation," "(v) Post, display or transmit Content ......, false, inaccurate, misleading," https://marketplace.secondlife.com/listing_guidelines "Anti-Competitive or Abusive Behavior. Examples include, but are not limited to:" The "not limited to" means any behavior that could be considered Anti-Competitive or Abusive, even if it isn't specifically listed. Additional information is also provided in the Knowledge Base, located here: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Writing-item-reviews-on-the-Marketplace/ta-p/954941 Keyword spam is also covered under the Markeptlace Listing Guidelines, linked above, and may be reported by clicking on the Flag this Item link that is located on every product listing on the Marketplace. If you are able to show a pattern of abuse regarding reviews, it is recommended that you submit a Support Case using the options Marketplace - General Marketplace Issues and provide the links to each of the reviews that you believe are related and why you believe that they are related. This information will be forwarded for research and investigation. Investigations take time, so please ensure that if you chose to report the issue through the Support Portal, please include as much information and details as possible and I would ask that your confidence in the issue be at least 90-95% sure or you have solid evidence of the abuse. Reporting a positive review just because it might be from an alt or friend isn't sufficient cause.
  23. Hi Strawberryfizz, If your entries on your Manage Inventory page are showing highlighted and say Unavailable, it means that your Magic Box is no longer in communication with the SLM web site.
  24. Greetings, If you have questions regarding the Maturity Ratings please see the Second Life Marketplace Listing Guidelines, located here: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/listing_guidelines General Maturity Rated content is acceptable for everyone, including minors. Moderate Maturity Rated content is for Second Life Users who are 18+ years of age. Adult Maturity Rated Content is for Second Life Users who are over 18+ uears of age who which to engage in overly sexual or violent activities. If your product listing is changed by the system to Moderate or Adult based on the type of product or the usage of specific keywords then you should review your listing to determine who your target buyers are. If you are placing an Adult word into your listings are you really trying to target the product to a 16 year old? And if so, why? The word 'escort' has been mentioned in this thread. For those who do not understand why a word of that type would be considered Moderate or Adult please ask yourself if you really want to sell escort items to a 16 year old.
