  1. What does the alpha of your image look like? If the shorts are smaller than the alpha (alpha channel of the image) then you will get a white area where the alpha cutout is bigger than your shorts.
  2. What is the gain for the investor, and why do you need to upload 40 textures/animations?
  3. I'm pretty absolutely sure that LL's support already has priority cases for their support. What they are, we will never know or be told about. The problem is that once you give someone bad support, basic account or premium, or Consierge level, they will remember it forever. There is no room for giving bad support to ANYONE using the service. It was LL's call to allow free accounts, and they have to own their decisions. There are many people that have gotten poor support from LL while paying them hundreds of dollars every month, just the same as free accounts getting poor support. Now you might say, that the priority of course goes to those that pay a lot first, and yes, it already does, but the problem with ignoring free accounts is that they will never move up to be paying members/landowners if they are unhappy with the service to begin with! LL can't simply say that "this free account will never spend any money" because it's not true. How much money did YOU spend your first month? Your first year? Your second year? So what if the new residents have to us, really trivial problems. When those problems go unsolved, the customer goes away and never becomes a paying member. In a small comparison- imagine that you give out free cookies as a promotion of your cookie brand. But the cookies you give away for free taste horrible. Do you think people would then buy your cookies, even if you said " The ones you pay for will taste really great, i promise!"
  4. You seem to forget that there are Premium SL accounts, ones that also own land and pay more money to LL than an WoW subscription. They get equally poor support.
  5. I'm not getting any ads either, possibly because i'm out of the ads target audience, being in sweden. There is a gap on top, to make room for the ads though. Ads in a paid service webpage, after login... unprofessional doesn't even start to cover it. Usually thats only seen on free forums that can't make ends meet
  6. I don´t know what your family has to do with uploading mesh? Anyways. What viewer are you using? If you are using an alternative viewer, try the official one from LL instead. I have never been able to upload any mesh with Firestorm for an example, while LL´s viewer works just fine.
  7. It's ON! or as Dire Straits would have said it: "That ain't workin' that's the way you do it Money for nothin' and chicks for free" Well, we can't really guarantee the chicks....
  8. Thank you for your comment! Hopefully enough people will join from the start, so it's not too long of a wait to crown the winner. I'm pretty excited to see the comming entries! The contest rules are based on what i've been told that others enjoy in a contest - being clear about the rules was one criteria. Another important point is that nobody is required to pay anything, to be competing. Not even uploads inworld. It's not a popularity contest either, so no need to make your friends and alts to vote. You will only have to rely on our (hopefully) good taste :smileyvery-happy:
  9. Moon Metty wrote: Will there be a mechanism to arrange sims in a such a way that quiet sims are grouped with crowded sims? Certainly hope not! Why would a sim owner with a quiet sim, careful choice of scripts etc have to endure the lag his server neighbour makes? Both pay the same and should be getting the same product and the same resources. Why should lagfest noobclubs be promoted over other types of sims? Number of people visiting is not a measurement of quality.

Nobody can log in because logins are disabled, but there are still plenty of people in who were already in when it happened, including one of my alts, so tjhere's plenty of concurrency although I don't what the number is. Thanks Phil! Btw, speaking of disrupted service- it doesn't matter what employees etc they have to pay, disrupted service is still disrupted service, and customers shouldn't need to pay for service not obtained. Then it comes down to consumer laws in that specific country, i'm not sure what the US laws say about it. At least here, usually a partial refund is done after 24 of total downtime during a month. I don't think we are up to that yet
  11. By they way, does anyone know if ANYone at all can log in? Or is SL down for everyone? Whats the concurrency?
  12. Oh hey, the marketplace is actually still working. Ironic, isn't it? I'm filling my cart with demos!
  13. How long has this been going on? Wonder whats up? LL forgot to pay their bills?
  14. I know there was a merge. ALL of the locations except one, are rated Mature. That means nobody under 18 can visit. Also, the teens are no longer from 13 years old, but start at 16. This surely would have been interesting at the teen grid, 2 years ago.
  15. Very interesting indeed... it looks very nice, fitting 12 years olds. I think LL has missed that all of us here are above 18. Oh, i also sumbled upon something called " Linden home comic" . It's insulting to comics worldwide.
  16. This is getting pretty ridiculous. I'm right now shopping in early morning for euros- very late night for americans- barely anyone is on, and definitly not shopping, so it can't be blamed on server load- but yet, it's slow as molasses.I haven't gotten the item i need for rp... *groanssss* What the heck is going on?
  17. Paladin Pinion wrote: I thought I'd give it a shot so I applied, and received a "sorry, you weren't selected" email a few days ago. LL said there were thousands of applicants and they only had six slots for this test run. I was surprised when I saw today that the first item was a dress. You'd think they'd choose something less gender-specific for their "wide audience" appeal. Don't be sorry! I don't know about others, but i definitly am going to boycott any merchant that comes up in the dash deal program. Their name goes straight to the " do not buy " list. Why? i don't belive for a second that what i've seen so far deserves any special promotion (generic dress anyone?), asking to be handpicked by the lindens is bad, and the whole idea reeks of customer abuse and favoritism. Linden buttbuddies don't get my money.
  18. The customer isn't new, but that doesn't really mean anything. Copy-bot like techniques as far as i know only work for textures, no? Quadruple checked permissions. Nope. it's all set like it should be. After testing and re-testing we haven't been able to reproduce the bug, however, the items that were sent to me by the customer, all full perms... Well, it's indisputable proof. My customer tried to reproduce the bug too, by unpacking the box with the items but this time they came out with the correct permissions. My guess it was some sort of server-side glitch. The question is, how do i remove any unauthorised fullperm objects now? Is that even possible?
  19. Today i received an alarming letter from one of my customers. "Greetings today I bought "XXXXX" on Market place... I opened the box and worn the items.. and noticed the you can drop the prim items and they become full mod. I doubt you ment it that way and it is why I IM you. As proof I gave you the prim clothes folder. Perhaps a good idea to check permissions. Regards XXX" The folder my customer sent me was very well full perms. She shouldn't be able to send it to me at all, since all my items are copy, mod but No trans. Now you think that maybe i set the permissions wrong, but no. I rez each piece, set permissions, take it back into inventory and then doublecheck with an alt. I also tried to reproduce this, step by step with my alt and the customer exactly like she did it, but the items didn't become full perms to my alt. Is this some kind of known bug? If my items are to become full perms when sold on the marketplace, then it's definitly meaningless to set anything up there. All advice very appriciated!!
  20. Wouldn't it be helpful if new residents could choose a display name already at the singup process? Then when they have learned some about SL, they would know how to change it, if they changed their mind.
  21. Kent Hutchinson wrote: What I would do is check my "wearing" tab and make sure that I am only wearing the attachments that I intend. The other thing I do is be careful to select "wear" instead of "add" when I want to switch a wearable and only use "add" when I want to try wearing two at the same time. I've done that every time i'm told i'm wearing something out of place, and the extra things are not shown as worn. This happens most often when i change outfit, even if i remove everything worn and everything attached, before wearing the new outfit. Could this be only an outfit bug?
  22. I'm not! I use Phoenix, wich is supposedly based on viewer 1.x... So should i go back to Viewer 1.x ? A step backwards to go a step forward?
