  1. Lately, i've been surprised about the amount of "noob" behavior, people wearing linden hair under their real hair, wearing their prim attachments for clothes but being naked under, wearing multiple shoes on each foot. Except the people haven't been noobs at all. Even my own avatar shows all this wierdness from time to time. Usually after re-logging, i turn out right. Sometimes when i re-log, i wear something i wore two days ago! But the errors seldom show to me, only other people see it :robotmad: It makes me anxious to know i might be looking like an idiot when everything looks fine on my screen. Or showing up at a PG location partially nude, and being AR'ed for it. Is there any way to know you are expiriencing an error without having a friend look you over before you leave your house? Any explanations to why this happens? Any known fixes?

Can you please tell me when a merchant gets the "official merchant" status? And what would be the minimum requirements? Ami That would be when they are the head of the brand. Having their items sold under their own name on the marketplace, and qualifying for the merchants roundtable. That is who LL treats as a merchant, the rest get no information, and have no voice.
  3. Hi there! I'm so happy to see there is a merchants forum now, for those that don't offically count as merchants. There is something i would like to discuss openly, and that is collaboration. Second Life is so strictly aimed at one-man-business, that it gives people that like to put their heads and skills together, very poor tools. One of the most annoying changes in the new marketplace is that since i'm getting a cut from my partner (i get the higher cut) i don't get any information about who bought my item, and for whom. I can't redeliver any failed purchases. I can't even see the transaction, nor what item that has been bought! Only the sum of money and that the MK2 sent the money. Well not very useful tidbit of information, when i need to help a customer. Another issue is sharing textures and premade sculpts within a business. That is of course within the ToS of the seller, but when collaborating, that means all costs double. Then it's easier just not to collaborate. Collaboration is what brings the quality of SL expirience up, since all can do their best, in their own field. it's sad that the most frequent way this is done on each on their own (texture makers make textures alone, then sell them. Sculptors throw wild guesses on what other creators might need. Animators make general animations, instead of specifically product-fitting ones) The way SL is structured right now doesn't aid collaborative works. How can it be adressed? Oh, and to add being the part that gets a cut from the brand/store on the marketplace didn't grant me access to the secret merchants forum. That it's my product being sold means nothing.
  4. Like Us on Facebook: Facebook is the best place to find out about cool things going on in Second Life, Actually, this phrase cought me a little... and now i'm pretty convinced that LL didn't come up with it alone. Just a few moments ago i heard almost the exact same wording from the tv, swedish TV station that also has a perfectly good, informative website. The wording here was "Facebook is the best place to find out about whats happening on TV3..." I'm starting to think it's rather Facebook trying to catch SL residents (and people from other websites) than other way around, and the wording comes from Facebook people rather than LL.
  5. Lexbot--You’re absolutely right! One of the most important parts about User Groups is that we’re going to try to create a more representative group of Residents who can share their feedback and experiences from their unique perspectives. It’s up to each group, and the User Group leader, to determine what the right mix will be for each one. I think you misunderstood. This is exactly what i was afraid of. In human group dynamics, the group stives for becomming homogenic. People with different point of view are shut out and shunned away. Not by LL's invention, just how groups work, people gravitate towards like-minded individuals. Communication between individuals that tend to agree, instead of tending to disagree is easier.... life is simpler. The way you propose it, there will be no need whatsoever for a group leader to include any residents with differenting views, and the focus groups risk to become self-focused.
  6. Who will focus groups consist of? It seems natural that you pick people interested in that perticular field. However, that is sort of like praying together with the already converted. Take for an example Viewer 2 and the potential Viewer 2 focus group participants. I will guess that those will be people interested in viewer 2. While the most valuble feedback of what needs to be done, would come from people who dislike viewer 2 and after trying out, no longer use it. A focus group won't be constructive if it consists of mutual back-patting.
  7. So you are getting the same error? We are in maintnance very, very often. Usually that doesn't mean anything except restarting sims. It would be very nice of LL if they told us what kind of errors to expect during that time.
  8. Is this some sort of maintnance thing, or is it an error only i'm getting? Today when trying to log in, i get the message that "Login failed. The inventory system is currently unavailible" Anyone else?
