  1. Ask your users what server code their sim is running - it may be related to this: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-7079 (which is what Sassy is referring to). And yeah, contact the creator or post in the scripting forums with more details about exactly what's happening.
  2. Ishtara Rothschild wrote: Content creators sometimes forget to set a prim for sale, and vendor scripts can break on occasion. In addition to contacting the merchant, you could also see if you can find the item on the Marketplace. Also, prims set for sale can occasionally bounce back to being not-for-sale. Have had it happen a few times. Just let the owner know.
  3. Josh Susanto wrote: I'm not going to pay to put out more boxes while people who are doing everything right are reporting similar "bottlenecks", especially while my own stuff, often at the exact same time, happens to be delivering just fine at record high delivery rates. What you suggest has no empirical support and is rooted in your blind obedience to instructions which demonstrably do not work for other people any more reliably than failure to follow them has worked for me. No, what I suggest is based on a good knowledge of LSL communication scripting, which you clearly lack. What is it with drama-queen rock makers who want to argue scripting in these forums? Good grief, it's like trying to convince a bunch of Neanderthals that the earth's not flat.
  4. You can definitely report the false keywords. Not sure how far the marketplace team goes in investigating the other issues.
  5. Wow - tough crowd, lol Rya - just use sorting in excel to get rid of SLM entries - sort by Description > delete all the SLM stuff in one block, or just sort by income and delete all the $0 ones, then sort by date descending again to get back in order.
  6. lol you need to play Eve Online for some light relief - at least here you don't risk being ganked and losing a month's profits every time you teleport
  7. Catwise Yoshikawa wrote: When I select the date range for the whole month, sl page don't display the whole month, but it is ok on the xls downloaded file. The page is always limited to displaying 500 transactions. I got mine just fine - what's yours actually doing when you try Pam? Oh and I'd noticed that time thing - i just thought it was reading my local PC time or something somehow lol.
  8. I've just downloaded all mine just fine on both SL and SLM - I did SLM for the past month and since start (August) - the August one did take about 5 min though. Maybe the number of transactions matters, as Darrius sort of suggested. (and cute to see who else is doing their end-of-year accounting already : ) oh and how is the date borked?
  9. It's pointless contacting Live Help - they don't deal with SLM. Just put in a marketplace support ticket.
  10. Yep Dakota's been very quick and efficient in responding to the few tickets I've submitted. Thanks.
  11. 600 items in one box... That's no a problem in itself - a script can find the right item out of >1000 just fine, but that becomes a major bottleneck if a whole lot of orders are coming at once. Every delivery has an inherent delay because of the communication processes involved (I've explained this in detail elsewhere and not going into it again). If one person buys 10 things all those deliveries are going to be queued to one box and have a greater chance of getting lost. It's not that hard. Just put out more damn boxes or stop whining.
  12. Liquify for fixing avi jaggies - Also try to avoid them in your inital composition - play with angles and poses.
  13. Ralph! While I heartily disapprove of your use of upper-case type (do we need a lesson on the traditional publishing use of Mr Italics for emphasis?) I must concur with your overall sentiments. Even if being cheap doesn't automatically make something crap... yeah there is a lot of crap here and it's embarrassing. A "relevance" algorithm that drags it up from the depths of obscurity doesn't help either...

No one would ever come back for their inventory clearance 2006 bling boots. ROFL But seriously someone needs to make a museum of these things - a History of SL Design or something. A few years ago someone showed me a 2004 nightclub that had been left rezzed for posterity - forget the name but it was pretty fascinating - 1 prim coloured cylinders for bar stools, etc.
  15. People still leave good reviews spontaneously - nowhere near as many as they used to - but I still get a pleasant surprise now and then, and the frequency of reviews does seem to be directly proportional to the price of the item (or maybe it's just that my more expensive things are more innovative and unusual, and people get excited about them). I'd say the frequency of written reviews is the same as ever, but the quick ratings-only reviews have gone, obviously. Interesting point about the old items with a ton of ratings - I must admit I always look at the ratings and see how many are full text ones written in the last year and judge the product accordingly. I still think any feedback is better than none.
  16. Just search the name in groups and check out info/owner.
  17. SnowWolf Weizhen wrote: if one script can be active in 1 prim. Why not have 2 scripts runnin in that same prim ? Just a 'diffrent' script for each alts. and his "Sellable" items put in that prim too.. Scripting fundamentals aside, there's also the matter of a little thing called the permissions system. Oh and, what Chelsea said ^
  18. On SLM I usually do a keyword search first, then if the results are too diverse I'll narrow it down by category. Eg recent searches i've done Looking for full perm sculpts to make signs from. Initial search - "sculpted sign" - returns all sorts of things topped by Meeroo signs and sculpted zodiac emblems, so choosing category on left: "building components" then "signs" gives me exactly what i need. That's not the sort of search I'd attempt in-world initially. If a saw a designer on SLM whose style looked especially suitable I may then search their name inworld and TP to shop to easily see the full range presented by theme, which is what I did in this instance, although I ended up buying back on SLM because the things were too hard to find in store. (Note to creators - for God's sake - categorise your stores. I've seen people here whining about how bad search is, but I've found their stores just fine in-world, but the couldn't find a damn thing once I was in there and gave up and went elsewhere.) Second example: Recently I decided I needed new shoes, with a general idea of what i was looking for. Tried shoes in search, got shoe shops fine but not the quality I wanted. Tried a few of the big brands but nothing that suited. Asked a couple of friends for recommendations - got one name I'd never heard of and searched them just in the General tab. One of the top results was their display in a shoe expo - TP'd there, found a lot of (?new) very good designers I didn't know about and bought a few pairs from different designers (not the one i'd initally searched), slapped a heap of subscriber boards, and then (cos the expo was closing and I got booted) went to one of the main stores and bought another 6 pairs. And have now recommended this store to several friends because their stuff is just so cool. So maybe the answer is "it's complicated"

You can submit a ticket for a refund of commission lost when refunding customers for a 2nd purchase because of SLM non-delivery. (Brooke posted about it somewhere a while back). Just put it under "Marketplace - general issues" or something like that and include transaction records.

Pamela Galli wrote: Yes, it is annoying and yes that would help, but it would also help if we did not have to add and delete each thing one at a time -- do a search, have a list come up, check which ones you want associated, click ok. Yes that would be nice too. Make it more like image-choosing section, which is so simple
  21. Hmm interesting idea. Although it kinda depends whether you use related items as "products that are similar or used in conjunction with listing" or "more of my stuff that you may enjoy". i think the original intention was the former, but it works fine both ways. Coming at it from a slightly different angle (that could achieve similar results) I'd like to be able to group products as being related to each other, and have the 8 pulled from that. I'm finding it annoying that as i add new products, I have to go back and edit the related items on all the others that they relate to. Some sort of internal grouping, such as that used by vendor systems, would really help with this.
  22. Since the new Direct Delivery will send purchases straight to your inventory in a folder, you maybe happier selling it that way once it's live. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/SL_Marketplace:Direct_Delivery_FAQ But until then, why not put it up for sale normally, encouraging people to contact you with any questions beforehand, link to a webpage/pdf, etc. In the higher price range your buyers take a bit more care with their toys, and a degree of presale consultation is pretty normal, especially if they're merchants themselves. And the price itself is sufficient motivation to learn how to set it up properly.
  23. Chelsea Malibu wrote: Zanara Zenovka wrote: Just put in a marketplace support ticket - silly reviews get removed pretty easily, usually within a day or two, especially if you can demonstrate that they misrepresent your product, etc Not according to Linden Labs...to quote: "If the buyer leaves a review that violates the Terms of Service, Community Standards or Marketplace Listing Guidelines, then you may report the review using the link provided beneath the comments and the Product Listing Review Team will view the comments against the above policies and if they find that the comments do violate any of them, the comments will be removed from the listing." That's what I said. Misrepresenting a product is one of the violations.
