  1. The Masocado Resort offers two floor luxury condominium apartments in a high rise community. We are on open Linden ocean with direct access to the Blake Sea. $L2495 per calendar month, 300 prims. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Masocado/182/153/22
  2. The Avatar Island service results in a very creepy look, IMO. The problem is that both the avatar shape and the skin work together to create the overall look. Pasting a RL photo onto a skin template only addresses half the problem. Second Skin Labs, on their website, used to offer an avatar customization service, and possibly still do so. It cost several hundred dollars US, if I recall...you would send them several photos of yourself, and they would custom design a skin and shape for you based on the photos. The example shown on their website was very impressive. Really, the avatar mesh is not detailed enough to reliably duplicate a Real Life person's appearance. You are much better off making an avatar that looks good, rather than obsessing over making it look real.
  3. Even if you find it, it won't tell you what is REALLY going to happen, because LL does not follow it.
  4. All new avatars have the last name "Resident". So your full user name is ribeirodora36.resident. Use the "resident" last name for anything that requires you to enter a last name. Once you are in world, you can choose a "Display Name" in addition to your user name. This can be anything you want, and you can change it as often as once per week.
  5. The problem is that LL does not accept prepaid debit cards. File a support ticket to try and recover the test charges LL made to the card, or contact the issuer and dispute the charges. To use debit cards and other cards LL does not accept, I suggest you try VirWox. They are a reputable third party $L exchange.
  6. The Masocado Resort's Yacht Slips 1 and 2 are available. They will acommodate yachts up to 40 meters in length. Prims and rental fee are negotiable at $L9 per prim per calendar month. The Masocado Resort is a lovely Miami-style highrise community adjoining open Linden Ocean, with unobstructed access to the Blake Sea regions. We offer some of the best boating and watersports available anywhere in Second Life. Base your yacht here...in Masocado, baby! http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Masocado/182/153/22
  7. There are no "fake" $L, but there ARE stolen $L. Some people obtain $L by buying them with a stolen credit card, and then sell them on eBay or directly, one resident to another. If LL catches you with stolen $L, they will not ban you, but they will subtract them from your account and charge you a 50% penalty on top of it. ONLY buy $L from the Lindex or from third party sites that use the Linden Lab Exchange Risk API.
  8. The Masocado Resort's Yacht Slip #2 is available. This slip will acommodate yachts up to 40 meters in length. The current prim allowance is 575, at a rental of $L5,170 per calendar month. Prims and rental fee are negotiable. The Masocado Resort is a lovely Miami-style highrise community adjoining open Linden Ocean, with unobstructed access to the Blake Sea regions. 9. I didn't accuse him of that, I said "I suspect". Anyone who has invested "thousands of dollars" in SL is running some sort of large business. Bans related to large businesses are often due to practices such as content theft. Thus my suspicion.
  10. If you use Viewer 2, Firestorm, or other V2-based third party viewers, you can wear multiple tattoos on the tattoo layer, and not take up any clothing layers. Also that way, when you change your skin, your tattoos remain. With a custom skin, you'd need the tatts painted on *each* skin variation. However, note that other people who are using earlier viewers will only see the FIRST tattoo in you "tattoo stack".
  11. "Why do some users "need" to find ALL Residents? What message is so important that you must contact me? Please do enlighten me." The other day, a resident rented an apartment from me. I went to Search to find her and send her a welcoming IM and to invite her to the land group. "Resident Not Found". That's why.
  12. Short answer: You can't. Not quickly, and not easily. You are far more likely to rustle up $200 with a RL job.
  13. I'm sure the groups you posted that in were very happy to get your input.
  14. There are three ways to do this. 1. Simply allow everyone to rez objects on the parcel. This is risky, you could come home and find the place choked with **bleep** sculptures. Form a group and invite your alt to join. Then do one of the following. 2. Set the land to Group while wearing your group tag. 3. Deed the land to your Group and also donate sufficient tier to cover the tier cost. Groups can own 10% more land at a given tier level than individuals so this may benefit you depending on the size of the parcel. The above assumes the land is Mainland. If it's on a private estate, just have you and your alt join the estate owner's land group. Problem solved.
  15. There's no rule against looking like someone else. Just go to any arrival point and see how many avatars are twins, triplets, quadralooplets. The only rule is against stealing content. Make your own prims, use your own textures, and thumb your nose at any irate look-alikes. Um, you say you used "tools available to everyone". Those are the build tools, I hope. If you mean you used an illegal copybot viewer (which is, theoretically, available to "everyone"), then shame on you!
  16. Next time write down important stuff like your email and password and keep them in a safe place. These are difficult to change. I'd call Billing Support and talk to a live person.
  17. No one is banned for "no reason". I suspect you are a copybotter or have committed some other serious Terms of Service violation. Enjoy your existence outside of SL.
  18. Why is it not acceptable to walk around naked? Because then you don't have any pockets!
  19. Anyone who believes that a company whose primary business is selling demographic information doesn't retain said information...I have some soon-to-be-beachfront land in Nevada for sale.
  20. Linden Lab does not advertise Second Life AT ALL. The only coverage SL gets is when some reporter does a piece on SL, or some TV show uses SL in one of their plots. It's one of the reasons SL is growing so slowly...nobody knows about it, or they only know about it because "that's that website where they have all the pixel sex, right?"
  21. While you are logged in, go to the Help menu at the top row, select Report Abuse. Fill out the form, including all information. Click Submit. NOTE: This is unlikely to produce results. Linden Lab does not get involved with resident to resident disputes. Come take my class on buying and renting land in SL before you get burned again. Fridays, 5 pm SL time, Caledon Oxbridge University.
  22. Think the mainland is all trash? Think again! The Masocado Resort is located on the eastern shore of the Nautilus continent, bordering on protected Linden ocean and with direct access to the Blake Sea regions. The Resort features a Miami-style high rise apartment building with ten luxury units. Each apartment has two floors and spectacular views. Lockable doors and controllable window blinds are standard, and a large screen HDTV/radio and security system are available on request at no charge. There are many amenities, including a game room with free tables, a skydive launcher, a rooftop pool, beach park, an outdoor dance pavilion, couples dancing enabled throughout the sim, Seven Seas fishing, and rezzable watercraft. There are several snuggle/cuddle areas for your enjoyment. Your own small craft may be kept at our spacious dock area. Standard prim allowance is 300 prims; you may arrange to rent more or fewer as your needs require. Rent is $L2,495 per calendar month...less than a monthly Premium membership from LL! Make your Second Life spectacular...in Masocado, baby! http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Masocado/243/159/41
  23. I'm sorry this has happened to you. The other responses are correct...LL very seldom gets involved in resident-to-resident disputes. Also, the only response you will receive on an Abuse Report is the reply email from "Indra Abuse" confirming receipt. You could ask the person who made the content you thought you were buying to also file an Abuse Report against the scammer. And you can AR the scamming vendor object itself, as well as its owner. Who owns the land where the scamming object is located? If it's the scammer, not much you can do. If it's the person who owns the original content, he can delete the offending object. If it's a third party, notify them and ask them to 1) AR the scamming vendor object and its owner and 2) return the object. Multiple Abuse Reports will sometimes get action better than a single one. If you bought via the Marketplace, leave a scathing review and report the fraudulent ad there, too. Good luck in your search for justice.
  24. Several times, I've encountered griefer objects that pretend to be owned by someone other than the griefer. I've even had some claim they were MY objects. Is there any way to tell an object's true owner?
  25. My group owns several parcels in a sim on the Mainland. I am the group owner. I can get accurate prim counts for everybody using About Land/Objects tab/Refresh, and looking the the list. My tenants, who are also group members, see erroneous numbers with this method. Why does this happen, and how can I let my tenants get an accurate count of their prim usage? Edit to add: So it's the Return ability that grants this? Yeck. I'll have to find a good prim counter instead. (My Hippo Rent boxes don't seem to give a good count). Also, how does one post a reply on these new improved boards? I see no reply button anywhere!
