okay my sl partner has been hacked and someone is online using her account
Lindal Kidd replied to RobRoy65's question in Account
Nyll's answer is correct. But your partner must do it, there's nothing you yourself can do. -
Enable RLV? :smileylol:

One should always test clothing layers on the Beta grid, where they can be uploaded for free, before paying to upload them on the main grid. It can take some "cut and try again" work to get a clothing, skin, or tattoo layer to look the way you want it. Some paint programs like Photoshop have 3D painting tools that let you see the results of your work on a 3D model before you upload them. I'm not sure GIMP has this ability.

Simple Question. I have Singularity. How do I "follow" someone?
Lindal Kidd replied to EponineRyder's question in Viewers
"following" someone does not mean "tracking them in Second Life". It's more like "following" someone on FaceBook. -
No, not really. As KarenMichelle says, you can get the money out with a wire transfer, but because of the high fees involved, this is seldom practical unless you are withdrawing a LOT of money ($10,000 USD or more). Because of recent changes made by LL, the only way to change $L into $USD is via the Lindex, and the only way to transfer money from your $USD balance is with a verified PayPal account. If you have a RL friend who you know and trust who uses SL, it might be possible to pay her your $L in exchange for real world cash, but I REALLY can't recommend this highly unofficial and risky method.

You really need to edit your question to add more information, Shay. What are you asking? If you rezzed a house on public land, like a sandbox, auto-return will send it back to your Lost and Found folder within a short time. You have to own or rent land to keep a house in world permanently. If you have lost your way to your house, your Dashboard page, Account, My Mainland will show you what mainland parcels you own. If you are renting, or bought land on a private estate, you'll have to contact the landlord to help you find your way back. Once there, go to World/Landmark This Place so you can get back there again. If you cannot seem to teleport to the region where your home is, maybe it is off line. You can file a support ticket to tell Linden Lab about that. They are pretty quick to respond to offline region reports. If it's a private estate, contact the estate owner. If you cannot, it's possible that they've gone out of business and the region has been removed from the grid. If you mean, "where is my free house that everyone gets in Second Life", the answer is, there is no such thing. You must buy or rent land, or become a Premium member and apply to get a Linden Home to have a house in Second Life.

I'm not sure why you are seeing that, but it's not because of anything someone else has got set. But the "previous conversation" that you see in your IM or chat window is NOT a permanent log. To keep a log of your communications on your hard drive, you must specify that in your Preferences, and specify a path to the log files. They are kept as .txt files on your computer.

Try the search term "petite avatar"

You can Add multiple items to a single attachment point, but in your case I would link the buckles to the boots. Make the boots Modify. Then the owner can edit the position of the buckles by checking Edit Linked Parts.

Peter's right, Caledon Oxbridge University is the name of both the organization and the region. Come to our "Buying and Renting Land" class, taught on Fridays at 5 pm SL time. It's free!

First, look on your Dashboard page, under Account/Transaction History. Find the $L2000 payment you made. Have your friend do the same. You may find one of several things. You made the payment, but you made it to the wrong person, someone with a slightly different spelling in their name. In this case, IM that person and ask them to return the money. But you must keep in mind, they may no longer be active in SL and won't get your message. Even if they do get your message, they are not REQUIRED to return the money. If they don't, it's gone, Linden Lab will not address this sort of problem. Your payment did not go through. If you can find NO record of the payment, or if you find the payment and then an immediate refund, this is what happened. No harm, no foul...just pay your friend again. Your log shows you made the payment, and your friend says his log doesn't show it. This means one of two things: Your "friend" is lying about not getting the payment and is trying to cheat you, or There really WAS a glitch in the system and the money vanished into the ether. ONLY in this case should you file a Support Case. Both of you should do so, using the Help section of this website. You should exchange copies of the relevant transaction log sections (via notecard or email) to include in your support cases, and reference each other's support case numbers.

why am I charged for two items when I only bought one?
Lindal Kidd replied to raefon's question in Account
To add to Rolig's answer... I understand you are frustrated. But "we" cannot delete your account for you. We are just residents like yourself. Even Linden Lab won't delete your account, you have to do that yourself. -
I had last night $600 Lindens taken from my account please help
Lindal Kidd replied to LoveAngel Madeye's question in Linden Dollars (L$)
When you rezzed the Greedy table, did it ask you for permission to take linden dollars from you? A legitimate table will ask this, but it will not actually take your money. But if you got your table from a scammer it could take all your money with this permission. Check the creator of your table, make sure it is not this person you mention. If it is, put the table back in your inventory and file an abuse report. And notify the real maker of Greedy that this person is selling copies of the game and stealing. -
Go to your dashboard page, the linden exchange section on the left. Click the Buy L $ button. Or use the buy L $ button in your viewer.

/me slumped down in the seat of her '65 Chevy, pulling her battered fedora over her eyes. /me looked across the street at the modest home she'd been staking out for the past three days, and reached across to reassure herself the Nikon with the 500mm telephoto lens was still ready for instant use...

how do i let guests into my home? i unlocked the door...
Lindal Kidd replied to Rupunzul Toocool's question in Controls
If they can't come in, then your Linden Home parcel is set to only allow people you add to your access list to come in. You can go to World/About Land/Access and add them to the access list, or you can change the access to allow members of a group to enter, or everyone to enter. If you choose the group setting, also set the land to group while wearing that group's tag, in About Land/Options -
Magic Boxes are no longer used. Now there is a Direct Delivery system. For complete details, see this article in the Knowledge Base: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Selling-in-the-Marketplace/ta-p/700193

See this archived forum thread In addition, this Wiki page may help a litte, although it is mainly about the Space Navigator 3D pointing device (sort of like a joystick with a hockey puck grip instead of a stick) http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Flycam

why i need to be in a group with 2 only members and closed enrollment?
Lindal Kidd replied to Tonya Orsini's question in Creation
A group MUST have at least two members, or it is deleted by LL in 48 hours. Many people make groups to take advantage ofthe 10% tier bonus that groups get when owning mmainland. The group members are usually just one person, using their main account and an alt. -
Torley posted a YouTube video on the new "Communication Hub User Interface", or CHUI. Hunt that up to get a better handle on how to use its features. But, if you are like me, you just don't like the darn thing. In that case, download and install one of the popular third party viewers like Firestorm that continue to use the old familiar chat and IM interface.

is the us dollar balance going away? I see no way to add to it now
Lindal Kidd replied to SarahCoven's question in Account
On your Dashboard page, in the Linden Exchange area on the left side, click Manage. Then click "Increase credit". You will be taken to a page where you can use your payment method to transfer $USD to your account.
