I have never made a save stick, but it is good to know. I prefer alpha layers myself. And they work, despite new strange cuts?

I remember some years ago when I said "No mod, no buy". Well, that did not last long. It would have been no buy at all for the rest of my SLife. I was weak and could not resist shopping, mod or no mod. I am always very firm and unwavering, until I change my mind. 🙄 But I wish the body was mod, for its reputation. For some, modify is very important, and why not box a mod version in the folder? I do not know if those who sell modify bodies regret it? Those who bother to unpack a modify body must be few, and I bet they already know a bit about editing.

Is it a list somewhere only with updates of previous releases? I see some in new releases, but they are not easy to find.

I do not see swapping between 5.3 and LaraX as difficult. It is one piece after all. It is no need to be a curvy girl with X, unless we wish. The difference is small. I am very happy with the armpits. No deformer could change the armpits on 5.3. The shoulder deformer I used is a tiny tiny adjustment, no one would notice. I put away 3 other deformers I used on 5.3. A lot of my old clothes fit. I could not wear Lara clothes with a totally different body. It is clothes from 2015 and up that I am going to keep and use with 5.3. And generic clothes that will be replaced with LaraX sizes as time goes on. I am afraid that Lara would go the way of Slink, unless Maitreya fixed the rigging so creators come back to rig for it. I can edit LaraX's shape and be curvier if I want to, and I can do so without buying another body. I love Lara, the new and the old. And the generosity of Maitreya, who gives us updates. Fangirl? Yes, I am.

My butt is ok in the updated vintage jeans. The top is an older Blueberry top, alpha out some parts and ready to go.

What the heck? Update all items?! I did not see that coming. I am happy and grateful if stores update only the recent releases. I expect nothing for free. Stores who update a few things makes me very positive against them. But if I see something that makes me go "ooh pretty!"... I will buy it, regardless of what the store did with previous releases. I do not stop shopping there even if they don't update. I said earlier in the thread that it is 3 things I wish was updated... and already heard that one will be.

I'm still using a shoulder kit deformer from (Small). With shoulder deformer to the left, default shoulders to the right. The skin is Venus on the first image. It comes in different versions, I use Skinny. The layer Porcelain that comes with LaraX on the second image. You may see a difference in the clavicle bone where I use the deformer to bring the shoulders down? I use L2 here. But this deformer in the third and last image below is L1. The clavicle bone looks almost the same and the shoulders is just a tiny bit lower. A very small effect.

I like the shoulders and armpits a lot. Poses with lifted arms has improved. The size of the butt and hips look okay for me. I could make the hips slimmer, but I think that is enough now. This will be the bikini body and the body for strapless/thin straps dresses. I will use 5.3 for all the clothes that will not be updated, and that means 5.3 will be my main body until I get tired of the old inventory. I could already delete some old jeans and casual clothes that does not have so good textures, I will see how it goes. I have some vintage clothes that I will keep anyway. I can't see myself delete 5.3, it is so much gachas and other items I have that was Lara only.

It took a long time before the Maitreya clothes in standard sizes was updated to Lara after Lara was released. Maitreya did not update all of it either. The latest batch of updated clothes came in 2016. So I am not surprised. I am not sure Maitreya will update and let us have redelivered for free. Maitreya has not released clothes in 3 years. The last I bought was the Reve lingerie. Lovely stuff. I would like to have it rigged for LaraX, I could pay for it again if it isn't free update. On the other side, Maitreyas oldies are goodies, and I am sure they would sell well to new costumers - and Maitreya could have Legacy and Reborn sizes too. Could, not should.

I like how all my alts look. I have made them different - different hair, skin, heads. But all look like I want them to. So I would date them. That is purely academic, since I have no wish for dating in SL.

It's not Black Friday yet. Or, it may be a Christmas sale. Have you unpacked the extras? In my folder, it is a Maitreya Mesh Body - LaraX Extras Unpacker HUD. You can unpack the original Lara from it. It is Lara 5.3.

I'm not sure if you joke? Slink closed its doors after the Cinnamon & Chai bodies became a flop. The bodies had a new UV and was overpriced.

This update is just as I expected for lingerie and other things that is skin tight. So no surprises there ar all. I was pleasantly surprised that I could wear so much other things. I can buy sweaters, coats, capes, capulets, boleros etc. And use those I have. I was afraid the shoulder rigging would give them nasty folds, but they look the same. I am so happy for the included Velour skins. The new alpha cuts is a bit troublesome. I wonder if I can kill the scripts in the body, so the scripted 5.3 clothes do not work. And add a save stick instead. I will probably use 5.3 for my "dressed" looks, just to save time making alpha sticks. And Lara X when I wear lingerie or bathing suits. The items I really wish will be updated, is the Ball Jointed doll from Salt & Pepper, the Descent dress from Toksik and the mesh Pantyhose / stockings sets from Erratic. ISON is already selling their older clothes, in new sizes and new colors. They set it out in weekend sales first, before they go up to full price. You can get a redelivery if you bought the fatpacks previously. Only the fatpacks. That is a really good idea, and I hope it continues for Lara X. TL. DR: I am happy with Lara X.

The bolded: I think you are right here. The italic: I doubt we will get 5.3 stuff for free. But the creators will use it in the weekend sales. I have to pay close attention to what I buy now. I do not need to buy more 5.3 clothes, unless it is special Victorian clothes or similar. Maybe we can get some past gachas that was rigged for Lara cheaper now. Some of it is really special and rare. Stores sell their old, full gachas for 3000 - 5000L.

Lace - can not use alpha to fix this part. I didn't alpha the arms here, that is super easy to do, but the lace is what makes the gown special. But only lace edges goes well. I have saved demos, so I can shop if it is a Black Friday sale now. The store is Toksik. I might buy the top gown and use it with Lara 5.3... I like it so much. Or I only buy the velvet bolero.

I can wear a lot with the new body, because I own a lot that can use alpha cuts on the new body. Unsurprising, all lingerie, swimwear and tops with only straps over the shoulders do not fit. It was as expected. Lace tops that can not use alpha, is also out of the question. But I am the queen of sweaters and other "modest" clothes, so I can continue to use a lot of clothes. Auto alpha in the clothes is going to be a nuisance. I will have to make save sticks with the new alpha cuts, but I suppose I must click "show all" first in the Maitreya HUD and then use the save stick. I have not tested a save stick.

I am sure many male bodies will be in the Black Friday sale. Maybe not the Belleza Jake one, it is already so cheap, at 1500L. Join the group for the stores, so he can be noticed if there will be a sale, and how long it lasts. If he prefer one of those bodies, it can be smart to wait in case he will save money. So ask him to pick up a demo of every body mentioned here, and find out what he likes. Remember that Legacy comes in the regular male body, and a more muscular one called Legacy Athletic. Pick up a demo for both.

Naw, Jake will probably not be cheaper. I saw the three old female bodies was sold separately before, and then Freya cost 1750 L. Belleza keep changing the price for the old female ones. And the GenX female appear to be on sale often. A sale 3 months ago, and now a sale that has lasted since Oct 30th. I almost want it, but I believe Lara X will better for me. If Maitreya could finish it and release it!! /weary face I do not need mod rights on a body 99% of the time, but I saw that somebody linked deformers to a mod body. Mod body and mod deformers. And that sounded neat. They could include a box with the version in the folder. Few need it. But those who are furries and fantasy avatars, really like modify. And they will spread the news if Lara goes mod. I think there are some guys who like to be more flamboyant in SL than they can be in RL, and still use a male body. A small segment, but I have a feeling that they have money and shop more than the general male population.

Maybe it is derailing the thread further, but the last pages has been about avatar popularity, so I post this anyway. I was not aware that the poster for Jake in the Belleza store got a new picture. It is also released a new collection with clothes for the body. This release of the Caulfield Collection is very recent, November 30th. I will guess that Belleza has no plan to retire Jake, he is probably their most popular product. We with male alts should watch carefully for Black Friday. Maybe Belleza will have a sale, including Jake? That would be super affordable. Jake cost only 1500 L now. Their older 3 female bodies is now sold in a pack for 2200 L. I think they were sold separately before. The Premium versions of the Gen X bodies is 50% off, both Classic and Curvy. This mean they cost only 2750 L now. Imagine if they had started with this price. The Lite cost 3099 L and the Regular 3499 L. I can't see the point in 3 different versions. It reminds me too much of the way TMP sold their bodies. Bleh.
