  1. Hmm, like the Beyonce rumors, you mean? I must say, I was thinking during this whole recent media hub bub, the couple themselves really carried this off with less fanfare and demands than Beyonce and Jay Z. One did not hear of an entire floor being commandeered, security cameras covered, or other patients and families not being allowed to go where they had to go. Unlike the singing couple. Anyway, I wanted to say, when Princess Diana was cradilng little baby William in her arms, she liked to listen to a song by Carole King so much that she wrote the singer a nice letter. I couldn't find a video of the song but, here it is, since it applies to this circumstance also. For little Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge. Little Prince.
  2. Lol Valerie. Now that I have seen the tyke's face I think he looks most like William. He has his father and grandfather's hooked nose, although, it looks shorter, more like Kate's length-wise. I think he will look like old King George (great-great-grandpa.) Eight and a half pounds! Where did she hide that much baby on such a wiry frame?! Kate looked amazingly refreshed for having just been through that.

Disrupting scheduled events, repeated transmission of undesired advertising content, the use of repetitive sounds, following or self-spawning items, or other objects that intentionally slow server performance or inhibit another Resident's ability to enjoy Second Life are examples of Disturbing the Peace Keep submitting Abuse Reports and be specific as to what Community Standard is continually being broken by your neighbour. Whether LL will actually take action is another matter. This does not apply to what one does on one's own land. It's about going on someone else's land and disturbing their peace. I don't feel an AR is appropriate in this situation.
  5. 60 hours? That's two days and change. Were you on the parcel continually? How much of an inconvenience was it, really? I mean it wasn't like you were locked into a room with the sounds and particles. First, you can mute and derender the objects if you find them offensive. (OK, maybe not the particles.) Second, it is probably for a special occasion, so if you want a good long term relationship with the neighbor, ignore it. If it lasts a week that's another story. But a few days? Sometimes people can't make it back to SL for a few days due to real life. For all you know he's having some type of RL crisis. Then he comes back to his neighbor griping about the virtual fireworks. If the particles aren't on your land I don't think there is much you can do. Actually I think SL fireworks are set up so they don't go onto anyone else's land. When I use fireworks mine won't even cross from one parcel to another I own because they are owned by different group names. That is how I know. You can mute the thing sending out the fireworks, it will stop the sounds. I left my fireworks out a day or so on my parcel, although I have no close neighbor where I rezzed them, I'm sure they could be seen from neighboring parcels. that was kind of the idea. But they celebrate the same holidays. I'd calm down and wait this one out if it were me. You can ask them to restrict noises to their own parcel, though. Really all neighbors should do that regardless. Since they made the parcel 'no see' I am surprised they didn't restrict sounds too.
  6. Print out a copy of your ID and send it with a letter with all the details of your past account and why you want to reactivate it. Mail that by snail mail to Linden Lab. Their address is somewhere on this website.

Not every prostitute is forced by criminals into the business. Most girls I met in SL who do escorting seem to be pretty independent women, who are far different from what you see in this video. Escorting in general is not a problem. The organized crime is. Well said! How does 'virtual escorting' in which a person on this side of the digital divide sits in their probably air conditioned home and trawls for clients for a few $L to spend shopping in a virtual mall, have any comparison to chlidren, teens, and women being held captive and forced to take as many customers as they are told to, mostly without any protection at all from STDs including AIDS? In what reality is that anything alike?
  8. I've never seen a cat go after cooked meat, not even fish.
  9. Other (UK) babies born today get a shiny new coin from the UK govt. For luck, I guess? Everyone else can get one for $56.

I think if you wrap the card in tin foil (not a hat, though) it can foil (hehe) that plan. That has to do with cards that use RFID chips. However, "Representatives from the Identity Theft Resource Center said, "They've never seen a case of RFID skimming used to steal information." Electronic Pickpocketing (pops) If you are concerned about the RFID chips you can request from your Bank or Provider cards with out the RFID Chips. The magnetic strip on the back of your card can not be read with a scanner. They have to be physically run (swiped) through a reader. The thief would have to have your card in their hand! ETA the link for the ITRC Website: http://www.idtheftcenter.org/index.html B-but! It was on national and local news! And everything on the news is true! They even showed it happening, complete with remote laptop receiving the info IIRC. Thanks for the additional info.
  11. It took me over 24 hours to see the dividends from a group land sale. You should be able to tier down as soon as the sale shows in their system, which shouldn't take long. Remember to go into your account on the website here and adjust your tier. Remember to withdraw tier from the group first, in case you've forgotten to do that.
  12. For others' sakes, what were some of the tips? CTRL + Z ? /waves to Jacki
  13. Ooh, I like Lydon. A lot. Napoleon Diana, maybe??

  15. Can't make a cat do anything it doesn't want to. Puppetry doesn't count.
  16. Pundits say the baby won't take the throne until he is 47. I was hoping for a bit more detail in the announcement. Guess William isn't one to be flowery. We can probably thank Diana for the details in William's baby announcement like "he has a lot of hair." I still think Diana Victoria would be a nice name...baby could be a trend setter.

News just released. Wow - way to be wrong, CNN. Tomorrow my left foot. It actually is a boy. According to Yahoo headlines. No details yet. Kate made it just under the wire, then. Now granny can put on her night cap and slumber soundly. I dunno.
  18. Awe Thor wrote: Melita Magic wrote: I think it is a girl, because they changed the law of succession. Very insightful! Awe . . . Elizabeth's a good bet, as it is Kate's mother's middle name (and Kate's) - and would keep HRH Grandma sweet too. ETA Diana? Over Philip's dead body! No chance. Probably right...William was 'summoned' for a meeting with Philip as the due date approached. What else could it have been about, other than baby names and such. I don't know that they could stop William but it's not a family, it's a firm. Philip is still boss. It's all Greek to me. Thanks everyone for a very entertaining thread. Looks like there won't be an announcement until tomorrow, CNN said the Queen retires at 9 and must be told first. So, even if there is a 'happy event' overnight, the rest of the world won't know. We can all rest easier knowing that.
  19. Thank you for the many interesting responses. Any bets on the first name? If it's a boy? If it's a girl? I see one has made an early leap. I think it is a girl, because they changed the law of succession. There's no way they don't know the gender beforehand. (Not the parents, maybe.) They started to with William then suddenly gave up on it, because they obviously knew it wasn't necessary. So for a girl's name I think maybe Alexandra, along with maybe Victoria, Diana, and Elizabeth in there somewhere. Maybe Jane for good measure. Why? Why not. Probably won't be named Apple or Moon or Dakota. Probably.
  20. Did they give you a note card? Is there another name in the note card? Try to contact that person. Also, try to contact the landlord by note card, in case they missed your IM. To write a note card: Open inventory. Choose create/new note. Type what you want to say. Hit save. Now close the note. Go to 'recent things' in your Inventory. Right click on the note. Put a title on the note such as your name, the date and "problem." (The word "problem.") Or maybe "need refund." Now find the person's profile in search. On the first page of their profile, there is a slot toward the bottom. Drag the note from your Inventory to the slot. You can also look in the land group and see whose name is in bold letters. They might be officers in the group. Unfortunately if there is nothing they want to do for you, LL won't make them help you. It does not get involved in tenant disputes. That is unless you can prove clear fraud and even then...it can't be depended upon. But first I would try the above. Good luck.
  21. We are getting this story in our news daily. William and Kate's first baby. I see Kate has gone into the hospital, according to the media. This must mean her baby will be delivered soon. How does everyone feel? Are you following the story? Those who are in the UK or associated nations, are you excited? Do you hope it is a boy, or a girl? I don't want to say Congrats yet since it may be bad luck. Are you pulling up a chair by your Tv or computer screen to monitor the progress? Do you have cigars and champagne ready?
  22. Pussycat Catnap wrote: What we need, is a button in marketplace to AR this stuff... Yes! I have been saying it for a long time now. Until then why should anyone struggle to learn when the end result can be ripped off? When the pay is that much below what they can get by selling the same thing outside SL to begin with? (The irony being of course that someone might then rip it from that site and sell it on the marketplace...which has no report button.)
  23. The thread I linked to was about the avatar being animated and controlled. Had nothing to do with debit.
  24. I had heard MP was having problems lately (more so than normal) - I read about that in the meeroo group. They (meeroo makers) pulled almost all their listing from MP due to the money not going where it should. That is probably a lot of lost MP revenue. They only left one emergency food bowl on MP. I have asked creators in the past why they didn't put their huge sales on MP too, so the stores are not lagged out the whole time, and they said it is too much work. I think they make so much without putting things on MP they dont worry about it. But their customers do suffer. Some recent hair shops that had huge sales were very hard to shop in. I managed to get some at one but almost none at another. With all the $$ they make I wish they would be more forward thinking than that. I did not know MP already has a way to send money to charity, then to me, that's just backward that the huge laggy sales and fairs do not also use MP for their customers sakes.
