  1. ok, i think it's about time to activate the Mesh Merchant Ring Group. It's already founded, just still sleeping. The idea is to give interested customers a path to follow through very different kinds of businesses offering mesh. That could be a LM-Giver at your mesh dept., pointing to the next merchant's mesh offers. This way ppl can walk through the mesh depts. of the participating merchants, getting an overview of what already exists, and what is to expect...
  2. what a pity, Charlar had a fine sense of humour and an open ear...
  3. oh, right, there has been no announcement, but I followed the link that is offered during log in
  4. I just visitied the March Mesh Madness, and must admit admit, I'm a little disappointed... I expected to see Meshes like mad, but found lot's of pictures instead, some of them even placed on sculpted displays. Granted, it's not easy to display mesh clothing or hair, but there are so many other mesh items that are missing (i mean, not only musical instruments :smileywink:) I like Maxwells presentation, he gives a fine overlook over what is possible, and the objects are fine crafted. Watch the rocking chair animation, I assume he used llSetKeyframedMotion. oh, and still no mesh Lederhosen...
  5. oops, I muted myself... didn't know that this is possible, lol thanks a lot, you made my day .............................................................................................................................. as dumb as I look
  6. my scripts using llLoadUrl doesn't work anymore does anyone else have this issue?
  7. I had this case, too. The item still had a (very) old pricetag, so it must have been from a long time ago...

I dont know what Linden Labs employees do all day long but it sure as heck is not improving second life. Lag, crashes, log in problems, things taking forever to load, things not rezzing, teleports not working half of the time Nothing ever seems to get fixed and intead of addressing this and promising that something will be done we are just supposed to sit here and say oooh its ok. If you ask me and i dont care if i get banned for saying this every single last employee of Linden Labs ought to be fired and replaced with people who can actually do their jobs I wish Second Life woud be bought out by another company who coudl actually make some real improvements even if it ment removing the "adult" content i woudnt mind so bad if we could have an actual second life that actually WORKS like its supposed to considering the fact that some people actually put hundreds, if not thousands of dollers into second life youd think wed get better service then this unacceptiable. can't agree.
  9. from merchant's view a Valentine's Week is better, anyway...
  10. I built a basic hang a few years ago. It plays a few nice tunes, and comes with an animation. You'll find it at my store inworld. @Seductive: Agreed, Voodoos instruments are amongst the finest instruments in SL. I dare to say that some of my instruments will stand the comparison in terms of details and craftmanship, you may want to take a look, especially at the mesh instruments here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Montisigard/66/48/76
  11. hehe, but you have to admit, they're getting lighter step by step ;-) and, btw, I should mention that the measure for mesh is not the same as for prims and sculpts, in case you forgot... anyway, I keep working on it, and thanks again for mesh, I love it
  12. one wide spread rumour (still) is: Mesh has too many prims, err LI (well, if it's not optimized, it may have, in fact...) We all know seeing is believing, so I set up a (I think impressive) example of the same item, build with prims, a mix of sculpt and prims and mesh. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Montisigard/63/84/77 would be nice to see more of such direct comparisons, it speaks for itself
  13. oh my, that's bad... after similar experiences (and I DID backups, but lost a harddrive AND the backups within 2 days, but for different reasons) I save backups on a HD here, and have an online backup, there are several available. The good thing is, you don't have to think about that, it just saves in the background... but...it costs money

  15. oh, really, you build guitars? My house is already crowded with about 14 guitars ( I stopped counting), and the next is on it's way (a baritone)... :matte-motes-wink:
  16. right! and for those who don't want to travel all the long way to Montisigard I should add, the LI of the all prim model is 250, the mixed sculpt/prim model has an LI of 68, and the mesh only model has a LI of 7!
  17. I hear this at least 3 times a day on group chat I'm tired of this, so i searched for the finest electric guitars on the grid, found one prim only model and one mixed prim/sculpt model, and finally made a mesh model. You will find the results here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Montisigard/62/84/77 Everybody who doesn't believe should look at this
  18. well, I don't have that issue with firestorm. It has the old physics-must-have-a-material-assigned-bug, but it works...
  19. it's always the same object, not complexe, but they are the biggest mesh objects I have rezzed on my land (houses and buildings)
  20. I made the same experience, rather often, and for mesh only. A click on the point where the items used to be makes them visible again.
  21. hehe, sure, some VST or AU plugins implemented into the viewer would be cool, and all participating clients synched... I'm afraid that would be enough work for a whole new developer team at LL, and it will be another great challenge beside all the stuff that needs to be worked on, so I wouldn't hold breath.
  22. Here we go: http://automated-builds-secondlife-com.s3.amazonaws.com/hg/repo/viewer-development-shining-fixes/rev/245867/index.html
  23. It's a brandnew iMac (i7) with lion. Dan Linden send me a link to a viewer version that might work, I'll test that as soon as I return home from travelling.
