  1. first thing you should check in blender, that the faces are set to smooth shading go to the 3D-View, to the left you see a column of buttons (if not, hit "T" to toggle). select all faces, then shading: smooth this should reduce the vertex count, and I assume you could easily save some loops on each bead, unless you want to create a mega-monster-bead-necklace...

  3. hast du deinen Viewer auf Deutsch laufen? Für mich läuft es eigentlich problemlos (bis auf das Sprachproblem, aber das steht offensichtlich nicht im Zusammenhang mit den momentanen Problemen, die einige haben.

  5. I don't have any particular issues with uploading mesh/OSX Lion. The recent viewers work fine, except for one language related glitch with the german viewer, but this one is independent from OS. Which kind of problems does your friend encounter? @gavin: opensim renders mesh objects??

  7. here's my way in that direction (though I must admit it won't work for every kind of business) I sell lots of add ons for my goods, additional music for the instruments, but I don't sell it on MP, ppl have to come to my inworld store to get those. And they come, many customers that found and bought my goods on MP show up later in my store to look for those additional stuff. This way I sell more in my inworld store then I do on MP. I'd wish that vendor companys offered a function to give increasing discount for returning customers, the more they buy, the better the discount...
  8. das selbe gilt übrigens, wenn man versucht, mit dem deutschen Viewer beim mesh upload custom physics auszuwählen. Das hat mich einige Nerven und viel Zeit gekostet, bis das klar war. Ich hatte schon das gefühl, bei LL halten mich alle für bekloppt, bis einer von den Linden auf die glorreiche Idee kam, das mit der Sprache zu testen.
  9. yes, I did that and it worked. I've had that language related issue (why is it language related at all???) before with the mesh uploader not uploading a custum physics model. It's still not fixed, but at least I can switch to english to upload mesh... And my merchant outbox is working now...

  15. I keep getting this error, it says "initialization with the marketplace failed because of a system or network error. Try again later." I'm trying for 7 hours now, tried several viewers (recent official, beta, FS), switched from wifi to ethernet, rebooted router, restarted modem, nothing helps... Can anybody give me some advice, please?
  16. I can't interprete that cryptonesish logs neither, it takes an expert. But what I see is that "error: bad mesh", and that points to - a bad mesh... i recommend to take a closer look at your meshes, any free floating vertices or edges? -------- edited, those typos...

  19. yes, ethnic clothing of all kinds looks like a nice niche... I'm wondering why clothing designers underestimate the potential of that niche and make the same robes/miniskirts/underwear all over again and hope for success on a crowded market.
  20. It's not the mesh. A sim full with avatars behaves like - a sim full with avatars. and the things that has been rezzed first for me were the meshes, then came some textures, while the sculpt displays and sculpt attachments of the visiting avatars were stll blobs an such...
