  1. I tried that in firestorm, but changing the values in the prefs didn't have any effect for me. Though, changing it in the Debug Settings (in Firestorm) works, like in Viewer 3

  3. I will join that fan club, too I mean, the fan club for Dartagan's posts...
  4. Where are you from? I live in switzerland When did you join SL originally? 2/11 2007 What have you mainly spent your time doing in SL in the past? building, building, and sometimes building... How are you planning to spend your time in SL in 2013? building? ETA: by the way, this isn't a research survey or anything....this is Porky, stuck on a train bored out of his tiny little mind.

  6. actually the moderators are very fast, some recent spam postings have been removed within 2 minutes. Still I want to know how somebody can profit from posting turkish text (assuming that bots can't profit at all...), combined with some video links (I didn't follow, so don't know the content)...
  7. my first goal is to get that spam off of the front page, but actually I'd like to know, how that *** spammer benefits from what he is doing. I think, turkish residents are a minority here, but apparently it must habe been of some use for him to post that turkish spam the last days. Can somebody expain?
  8. earlier versions of Blender apparently ignored that feedback loop. With the recent versions you have to set a different backing destination, took me a while to get that straight, but now it works fine
  9. first: my business (musical instruments) is definitely a niche, and different from furniture, clothes, prefabs or such. I rented half a sim for my main store, and I'm far from running out of prims; to the contrary I'm getting more prims daily, since I replace my old prim instruments by mesh builds, and my customers want just this. My sales are about 50/50 MP and inworld store, this is apparently not typical nowadays. I offer demos of a great part of my items, and ppl come not only to test them before buying, they come to play around and enjoy them just for the fun of it. One line of instruments is build to play along together, and there are times when my store is crowded with ppl doing a jam session together, just for entertainment. The traffic is almost always between 800 and 1200, which is pretty good for a place like this (I think), and I don't run any bots! The demos are unlimited as long as ppl play it in my store, I think that's important to make such a place an attractive destination for more than just buying something. edited to add: oh, and of course it makes a difference if you display the "real" thing instead of pictures, but you all already know that... the experience is so different then
  10. My recent build (and bumping this thread to get rid of spam...)
  11. I suspect it's the "Umlaute", I had some trouble with ä, ü, ö. You may try ae, ue, and oe instead
  12. I'm used to it since the days when mesh was not so common. For me it's more like a hint for those (few) that still can't render mesh: watch out
  13. thanks, I will turn in that direction! :matte-motes-grin:
  14. can somebody please point me the right direction? While trying to bake an AO, I receive the error "feedback loop detected". Where do I have to search for the mistake I apparently made, I have no clue???
  15. the wiki says: (llDie) Has no effect if called from within an attachment; there is no way to delete an attachment. so this behaviour should not be surprising
  16. I use wireless at home and ethernet at work, and my overall experience at home is much better (though it would be even better using ethernet, I assume). there might be minor issues that I don't even notice anymore, but one can't say genrerally "don't go wifi", it depends on the details.
  17. Avimator (without Q) works fine for me on mountain lion
  18. you may use llPlaySound instead of llTriggersound to have just one sound playing at a time

Nevermind, it's already been filed: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-8120? great!

  21. llPlaySound doesn't work on BlueSteel (llLoopSound and llTriggerSound works fine) Hopefully that's NOT a future feature...
  22. Same here, can't log in into Additi. Tried an alt, it works, but that alt still has no permission to upload mesh to ADITI (though it can upload to Agni) So, went to do that quiz again, for the fourth time, but: billing information temporarily unavailable, duh mh, so I will go to the meeting instead...
  24. open the map and search for mesh sandbox, I think there's just one left, anyway
  25. from looking at the result, using "generate normals" is just the same as setting a face in Blender from "smooth" to "flat"
