I can see how it would 'harm' her. If you spent a lot of money, to customize your avatar, make it unique, one of a kind and have someone in a moment clone you and make your original nothing more than one of a 'army' of clones than yes that harms you. It ruins your enjoyment and if you dont enjoy it - whats the point being here. It's also content theft, but unless you made the content your avatar is actually wearing you might just find yourself depressed and out many Lindens without any way to resolve the issue. LL requires you be the content creator to file a DMCA. Proving someone copybotted something you are wearing, or your entire avatar would be kind of complicated if posssible at all. Unless they copybotted something and then gave you a copy showing them as the creator. You need proof. Photos would be reasonable proof..... I dont think logs are necessarily proof though but perhaps helpful. Reason I say logs are not proof, logs can be edited, easily. So I stopped logging a long time ago when I realized it only caused me lag and was not valid proof of anything.

What people who want to track you do without a online tracker or True status indicator. They send you a notecard, or 1 linden, or a IM to see if the server responds that you are not online. Unless they make changes - it has been in the past that if the users was faking the offline status you would NOT get a response from the server. Persons truly offline would cause the server to respond that the inventory had been saved, or the user was not online and that the message had been saved. GROUPS - have online status or LAST SEEN dates. Finding if someone is online or when they were last online has in the past been one way people have been able to find out if someone was really online or not - and faking offline status. So unless all these things are done away with - The regulations against Third party viewers showing true online status of friends is pointless.

QUESTIONS - are they going to 'fix' the groups so that you cant see which of your group members are online? Because if you know and are a member of the same group as someone else it has been in the past rather easy to look in the group member list to see if they were really online or not. ALSO.. Are they going to make the server 'fake' a response that the member is not online. Currently it has been IF the member was really offline you would get a message from the server if you sent them a IM, or a notecard or any inventory that the user was offline........ etc etc. Hard to fake not being online to would be 'stalkers' when the system tattle tales on you. Considering the above..... whats the point outlawing true online status in third party viewers and huds? It's a game, it doesnt give you access into their home or to their rl info if you see someone is online. Are they going to be making avatars invisible to friends in the same location if you have your online status turned off? What if you happen to be in a place and they show up. Whoops .............. must be a technical screw up I swear..... I didnt hide from you in the friend list. Yeah right. OKAY and on this thing about not adding any functionality that isnt already included in the second life viewer - REALLY ? No RLV ? No enhanced radar ? No enhanced inventory search by creators name ? Shall I go on ? I think this decision to add these additional rules into the TPV policy really suck. I'm finding more and more reasons why I come to SL less and less and visit other grids more and more. What's wrong with this picture ? You buy hundreds of dollars real money in inventory here in SL over a period of time and you are not allowed a backup. IF for some reason - SL was no longer in business - none of our content could be taken out or used elsewhere so all that work, time and money gone forever?

If I made something and gave it to my friends - and said.. hey this is free and full perm enjoy and pass it on. There would be NOTHING wrong with them passing it on friend to friend or offering for free anywhere. If I purchased a item from others to add to my own builds and I had their permission to use it in my builds that I sold and I had at that time bought all rights to do with it whatever I wanted to do, there would be nothing wrong with my giving it away free, and those who received it giving it free so long as I had not violated any agreements made at the time of my purchase of those items - for example if it was stipulated in contract you cant give these or resell them full permission - then of course it would be wrong. However at one time - people use to sell full perm items here in SL for others to buy without so many restrictions as they do now WHICH MIGHT have been the case when Stroker purchased his animations from other animators. Changing their mind about it AFTER he leaves the SL community and has given them away free is kind of bad sportsmanship considering they had no complaints going (???) when he was selling them making money off of them. AS I read earlier they were not receiving any royalty for items sold so leads me to believe he had full rights. Now they complain - but previously they did not. And some people .. give their items full perm to use or sell anyway you want, do whatever you want any place you want i.e. Linda Kelly - so I dont understand why you're giving this person such a hard time over them offering the sex gen free full perm on marketplace. Sounds like someones a little greedy and thinks they can make money off the sex gen engine - and giving it free would have an effect on a ability to charge for something already given free. Shame Shame!

I have been getting a MASSIVE amount of script error notices lately when I rez items that functioned perfectly fine before. There has definitely been some sort of scripting change on the server side that is breaking things.

How about a PANIC / SUPPORT button built into the viewer with the ability to send a notecard or email to support over inworld issues without having to load the web browser - in the event your web site is down and the support portal / live chat is not available. I was having issues today and could not get live chat to load, or to get the web site to load, worked for about half a hour after noticing inworld issues with saving notecards. Received error messages from the asset server unable to save at this time. ... so i then tried calling the office only to get a message to file support requests on the web site (which wasnt loading). Very frustrating. You really need a voice line for support for premium members - or a built in menu button available inworld for support issues............ please add something like this for a added feature in the viewer and perhaps also a easy easy easy method for premium members to contact live chat rather than digging through layers and layers of pages to get a link to the live chat portal. Please - after all you WANT people to be premium members and for me, the SOLE reason I am premium is to get support - IF I Cant reach you, then there's no reason for me to be premium.

Cleaning up the mainland is a great idea. Not every person gets the same fast response though as you did. I had filed tickets about items floating in the air, stuck in the water. Even took pictures and sent in - they are all still there. I got so sick of looking at the crappy stuff people rez on mainland and never clean up that my partner and friends gave up our mainland parcels (which was at 1/2 sim) and sold them all to land bots or abandoned to governor linden and then purchased a homestead so we can at least control the view. It's not my fantasy to live in a SL ghetto world - of decorating disasters. (smiles) I think it would be a GREAT idea if they put some people on this on a full time basis and went sim by sim on mainland checking which parcels are owned by linden now, and which still have prims rezzed on them. would be great if they did some nice landscaping too. One other issue - the terraforming on mainland is so limited that people rez ugly prim boxes to build on and of course texture it every awful color / texture imaginable which of course detracts from the view. One of the things I really hated. Maybe if they did a massive clean up, and made some tropical island instead of that UGLY mountain texture they use so much of people might be enticed to want to live on the mainland.

No, Not at the present time. He doesnt know why they did it, and with current RL stuff going on in his work he has decided to not bother. It was pretty much a slap in the face that they would automatically ban without asking the other person or even checking with them first especially someone who has been such a long term resident. May be why there's so many people moving off to other grids.

I know a guy who had been a resident of SL for 6 years - he tried to login a month ago and couldnt and got some message about abuse - which did not really have a explanation - nor any offer of help. It seems like Linden is looking for reasons to get rid of good people. I have known him almost 2 years and he was not a copy botter, nor was he someone who caused problems. He was a truly nice guy, good manners - and they banned him or locked his account for no reason. He was so disgusted with the way they treated him after being here for 6 years - that he has decided not to bother returning to SL. Thats a shame. I am a premium member - but I tell you that most days the suppor IS rude............ and not very helpful. It's like they are doing you a big favor to tell you to uninstall the viewer, delete the files in the application data folder and reinstall it. They dont listen to you when you tell them you have already done that multiple times. SO basically my support is telling me to do what I already know how to do and have done.............. and Im paying them for that. BLEH.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop with a dual boot. Win 7 OS / Ubuntu Linux 11.04. Currently I have Imprudence and Singularity installed and functioning but I can not get Viewer 2 to work, it crashes on startup and so does Phoenix Viewer. I have not attempted Firestorm because I assume if the Phoenix Viewer wont run then Firestorm probably would not either. Okay OBVIOUSLY - this computer can run the viewer in some third party versions in Ubuntu Linux 11.04 - so hardware really should not be the issue. ALSO same computer can run ALL versions of SL Viewers and Phoenix / Firestorm on the win 7 Operating system boot. So process of deduction - this is something specific in the software of viewer 2 that is closing immediately on startup (same on phoenix). It is a immediate crash. SO what is different between these version and Singularity / Imprudence viewers. (all downloaded on today sept 12,2011. More importantly, what specific package or file can I download and add to my linux Ubuntu operating system that will allow the official SL Viewers to run on Ubuntu 11.04 on my machine ? something the new viewer is requiring on start up that Imprudence and Singularity dont require ? I have a NVIDIA card and I too had issues however I found out that the card was not my problem. ON my windows 7 64 bit dual core processor system, I was having numerous system lockups while logged inworld regardless of the viewer. I found out though by checking my services that were running on my computer that windows media sharing was using over 2 million in memory and was causing my processor to overload when it maxed out thus freezing the system and requiring a manual reboot of the whole PC by shutting off at the CPU box. I found windows media sharing was streaming any media I saw or listened to to the HOME GROUP NETWORK - due to stream media being checked. Once I disabled Windows media sharing, disabled stream media on the home group network and disabled auto detecte home group networks I no long am having any issues. The computer works better than it ever has - and Im very happy with my graphics card now. My card is a NVidia GeForce with 1 gig card ram. Good luck. EDIT TO ADD I have a NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT with 1 gig card ram PCI express and paid just under $70.00 on Amazon.com

I have a number of items various vehicles that are 'auto rezzed' and can be set for group, or 'everyone' use. I also have some items, like boats, that are scripted to allow me to make them drivable by others group or everyone / anyone. I am seeing now, and so is a friend who tested his vehicles that almost ALL our vehicles are not allowing anyone else to drive them except the actual owner. This is on standard owned vehicles / boats primarily and also vehicles that are rezzed with a auto rezzer. What has changed in the server side software that these items no longer work? This affects everyone who has items on their property out for group / or public use. All my items were up to date. The issues consistently happened regardless of location. Blake sea, Fruit Islands, or my homestead which is running on a magnum server. Does not appear to be a viewer issue as we have tried with various viewers.

Well, I have tried them all. I keep going back to Meadowbrook because of the ability to open the windows and let 'light' in and not feel so claustrophobic. The fantasy houses look and feel small, confining and are hard to manuever in without your camera popping out the walls all the time. They should have made the celings higher and maybe curved the walls out more. hallways are very snug. The oriental homes and neighborhoods are the prettiest but I dont want to live with oriental decor 24/7 so I like something a little less forced into a certain style. The Tahoe houses have no lofts or upstairs bedrooms that I can tell, so I really preferred having a separate area not just one big A frame house. WHAT I cant believe is that Linden didnt go with a tropical theme community. I mean if you look at sims people buy and want to live into what is more poplular than tropical themed sims ?? Beach communities are the number one in SL. AND if they had been smart they would have made some really cute tiki style or beach style homes on white sandy beaches with palm trees, and waves and water........... and sound effects and people would LOVE that and have a reason to want to be a premium accouint member. I bet they would see a huge increase in people wanting premium membership if they would make some NICE beach communities.

Linden Home / Land the house does not count againt the prim allowance - HOWEVER if you buy land other places you are given I believe 117 prim allowance for a 512 parcel and EVERYTHING you put on that house counts against the land prims so it is actually a bonus of about 61 prims to use the linden home and then you can use all the prims for furnishing the house.

Premium members get 1 free 512 parcel with a linden home already on it which is permament. IF you have any land in addition to that you are charged a separate fee on top of your premium membership . So if you have the free linden home, and a 512 parcel in addition to that yes you will be charged. IF you abandon the linden home - and or dont have one set up, you are allowed to use that free 512 land allotment by buying land elsewhere and you are not charged extra from linden for that. ONE 512 land allotment from linden is covered under premium accounts as part of your premium package. If thats not whats happening with you then I suggest you file a help ticket and see if they can help you with it.

If you think THOSE are bad come visit the sipiwesk sim and see the Giant ugly cat and the Stoopid sculpted man with the bunny head (also GianT) my neighbors have erected. seriously I think that people must be on drugs when they build this stuff. Some of the ugliest building in SL going on in this sim. BLEH. Edited to correct typos and add photos.

I have to tell you I am seriously considering selling my parcels due to the UGLY UGLY builds on the ground level around my parcel in sipiwesk. The other area's I own mainland are a little better. But really Linden needs a EPA (SL Environmental Protection Agency - because there should be some kind of BUILD standards on mainland due to your neighbors NOT being able to avoid looking at the ugly stuff next door. OR enable a permanent derendering so I can make them disappear permanently. I would be willing to buy a full sim island but cant justify a 1,000 US dollar setup fee. Especially when I am a premium member.

I like the new options, and the idea they are adding perks to premium membership. I have been a premium member since I was about 2 months old in SL. I would love to see some kind of discount on full sims setup fees for premium members for private islands. Really, I have about 1/2 sim of parcels on mainland now and I have to agree some people have absolutely NO taste when it comes to decorating and landscaping or they are deliberately trying to make it ugly. Permanent derendering in the viewer options would be a HUGE Perk so I could permanently derender my neighbors eye sore build next door. I would actually use my linden house if it supported more prims / had a larger land space but 512 doesnt feel very 'premium' its more like going coach from New york to moscow.. very cramped. Make us feel special........ if you want people to desire to be premium members. I do like the live chat support but the thing doesnt stay open 24.7 so.. that would help also... and a option to add alts to your premium account for a small increase rather than setting up totally separate accounts would be great. I'd pay extra for that.

I am wondering if its possible to set default windlight settings on my parcel that are not limited to my personal viewer. I mean which are offered to any visitor to apply them ?

PERCEPTION IS EVERYTHING - and I perceive the same or very similiar results of logging on with this recent 'upgrade' version of viewer 2. 1. All the groups I belong to pop open with ding ding ding ding - even though the boxes to uncheck if you dont want notices have no check in them. And group chats keep popping up even though I have deselectde the ability to have IM or group chat pop ups. I turned this off multiple times in every single viewer - more than once more than twice more than 3 times and saved it every way possible and they keep opening up. I hate it. I hate the dinging noise when a message or chat opens up. I want a way to turn that off besides stopping all sounds. I like hearing ocean waves, birds singing, music but dont ding me to death with notices okay ?? ALSO this slow rezzing.. come on I have a decent video card a GeForce with 1 gig ram. I shouldnt have to wait 20 minutes plus for a area to load. NO its not my computer I have a dual core processor PC with 3 gig ram and as I mentioned 1 gig on the video card too. I run windows 7, I have 2 hard drives .. and Im on a designated cable modem with maximum speed service - not wireless, not dsl, CABLE INTERNET MAXXXXXXXX and it still sucks. If this is good to you, then maybe your expectations of service and quality are much lower than mine. BUT I have seen it be much better than this before and it was until the recent upgrade of the viewer so why should we sit and be satisfied with poor performance ? WHY GO BACKWARDS ? It should improve.. not degrade service. I have probably 8 tickets in support over various problems related to thmis upgraded viewer - I have provided a full system information report of my PC, I have provided a trace route of all hops from my PC to the main linden web server or at least its DNS server - and I have provided copies of my speed tests proving my internet connection speed is above 20 Mbps - Cleaning out cache files, everything viewer 2 or viewer 1 or SL related phoenix related firestorm related imprudence relate d - removing it all every single file and folder and running advanced system care pro to clean my system and reboot my PC 2 times did not fix these issues.. I still have trouble with teleporting. I stilll have problems crashing / being logged out involuntarily. Someone needs to grab a cup of coffee............. walk down the hall and relieve themselves and then sit down and find out what the bug is thats causing this. PLEASE dont pass the buck and say its the people. FIX this.

I did the manual cache clearing and removing all viewers and step by step like they say to do - It did not fix it - this new viewer sucks. And I say, instead of pointing fingers at the customer and saying you need to clear your cache - we should point our fingers at SLand say you fix what you broke. I'm really tired of having to fix my computer every time they decide to upgrade viewer 2. HAVENT they heard of being backward compatible ? or does anyone really know how to write code around there? STOP screwing it up. Like this person said..... we spend a lot of money in here to make things look good - and then someone comes along with a 'bright' idea and F888s it all up.

I have to admit I have been very frustrated by this last 'upgrade'. It is as though I had a onboard graphics card now instead of one with 1 gig ram. Horrible. I crash frequently - usually am 'involuntarily logged out' of a sim rather than being able to TP out of it. Then there's the rebuilding my avatar ever day again - reloading skin, shape, eye brows, hair, eye balls and so forth. And the textures in the sims are not loading completely - trees not fully rezzed Its so disheartening if I didnt have some experience already in SL I might be tempted to just give up. I wish I had not trusted them when they bragged on how great this new version was - I have had nothing but problems since I installed it. I think I will uninstall and go back to previous version - this one sucks.

If LL is interested in being financially productive I suggest they do not allow the teenagers on the main grid as MOST adults who are paying for and use a account where they have proven their idenity - might I add who put money into this 'game' ..... and who make purchases on the market place / xstreet are NOT going to want to be required to interact with teenagers or tolerate the immaturity and griefing that goes along with that type state of mind. Personally I am telling all my friends and contacts about this blog and those related - and asking that they come here and take a look at this notice and make their own opinions known. Money talks and BS walks.. as the saying goes. WHAT happens when those putting money into this game decide it's not worth the risk of penitentiary time over some accidental exposure to someone under age on a nude beach or something of that effect ? Give us a break. Separate grid for adults~

Okay, I want a teen blocker available to adults who do not wish to interact with teens A script or device to prevent any contact and to flag a warning if someone is using a under age account. I dont want my SL experience compromised by having to change my appearance or behaviour due to the presence of minors. That being said...... if anything happens in SL that creates a problem in RL for teens or adults with teens I think this will be LL's responsibility. This was a terribly bad idea and yes I am a premium member so maybe someone might consider if we are PAYING for this experience we dont want to have to compromise it for the benefit of teens who will not respect our privacy rights, who wont understand adult issues and feelings and who will undoubtably look for ways to get into areas that they are not supposed to be in. Can anyone see the nightmare this will create ? Geez...... folks BAD IDEA!
