This is one of my favorite styles. The challenge would be how to handle the roof. To make it look believable would take more LI than the flat "let the texture do all the work" roofs that they typically use. Those LI would have to be made up elsewhere, likely in landscaping, which might be able to work in a desertscape.

I'm 99% sure that @Always Incognito was just being funny, but you never know.

Clarification, the Linden Home Security System default settings ejects visitors after 15 seconds, which is the minimum allowed by the covenant.

What part of Belliseria has the best sailing?
Matthieu Quander replied to UnilWay SpiritWeaver's topic in Linden Homes
That sounds familiar. It's been a while since I have wandered in Log Land. I need to make time to do that. I'm probably confusing this with the temporary nuclear silos, or I'm misremembering those as well. -

I'm pretty sure they were a temporary thing when log Land was being built, but I could be wrong. -

Would go nicely at a Log Home as well. -
Question About Parking Boats Over a Home
Matthieu Quander replied to Savannah Wizardly's topic in Linden Homes
I doubt there are very many residents looking for loopholes. I think most who violate the covenant either have not read it, don't understand it, or blatantly refuse to abide by it. -

I have to disagree with you on this point. I find it extremely rewarding to explore, be it by water, overland, or in the air. The moles have filled Bellisseria with wonderful surprises that only those who like to wander will encounter.- 31 replies

What part of Belliseria has the best sailing?
Matthieu Quander replied to UnilWay SpiritWeaver's topic in Linden Homes
All of it. The fact that you have all of these options and can do any combination of them whenever it suits you is what makes it the best place to sail on the grid...at least for me. People who prefer wide open water or who like to race may feel differently, but I just enjoy a long exploratory sail or motorized water adventure. I think it is suitable for all but the largest vessels, Galaxy notwithstanding. -
There are obviously some who prefer to live in the old homes for many reasons, but I still think most residents of the old regions fall into other categories. Unaware that Bellisseria exists because they aren't receiving communication from LL either intentionally, language barriers, or for technical reasons They know about Bellisseria, but are overwhelmed by change and have not made the effort to understand the technical details for moving They have not logged on for a long time and have forgotten that they have a premium account and own a Linden Home, and have a recurring payment enabled Something else

Never mind. I misread Chloe's post.

I think the opposite would happen...the new continent would be sparsely populated.

Houseboats - Square vs Rectangle
Matthieu Quander replied to UnilWay SpiritWeaver's topic in Linden Homes
This. I can make both work. Everything else being equal, I think I prefer a square for the reduced feelings of claustrophobia. -
I don't disagree with any of this. My comment about mental health was not intended to imply that that was the only challenge out there. It was meant as a response to the person who is dealing with the paralyzing impact of anxiety. Suffering from this myself to the extent I have had to significantly limit my time in SL, and ironically posting in the forums, I'm not at all unsympathetic. I was simply making the argument that there are land options outside of Bellisseria that allow for full control, including automatic insta-banning. If my anxiety had the same triggers, I would likely spend my land allowance on a mainland parcel and live in a skybox with a fully automated security device. Lest we forget that SL is a business, there has to be a practical balance between building in world communities that are welcoming and inclusive to all, and accounting for every possible need.

Whether or not anyone/everyone agrees with you or Abnor is irrelevant. All home owners have the ability to ban anyone who is a nuisance. In Bellisseria, this is intended to be a manual process. Anyone battling mental health issues that are triggered by any stranger appearing on their land at all probably should not live in Bellisseria.

For those who may be new to this thread and possibly Bellisseria, some of these "on the water" homes may only be that way temporarily. The Ranch Homes area is still being built, and only a few regions have finished coastlines. You may end up on a beautiful pristine coast, or you may end up being regions away from open water once the theme settles. If you are a frequent house hopper, then it won't matter, but if you are looking for a forever home, you may want to keep that in mind. Happy house hunting.

The all-in-one Home Furnishings Topic!
Matthieu Quander replied to Trinity Blakewell's topic in Linden Homes
I'm not immune to feeling slighted when all the effort I put into something isn't fully appreciated, but I don't see the offense in someone adding a more obvious link to a store. Every photo posted in this thread is clickable. Most of them simply open the photo in a new window. Expecting every reader to check every clickable photo for something more may be unrealistic. Thank you for posting the event and linking it to more information. And thanks to @Teresa Firelight for adding a SLURL to the store so extra clicks aren't necessary. If that's offensive to the point that it makes you not want to post here, then I suppose we will have to live with the consequences. -
Speaking of 512 plots, I suspect this is a contributing factor to why Sakura and to a lesser extent, Newbrooke, are not more full. Determining the demand for 512 plots has to be difficult. On the one hand, theme variety for all plot sizes is a good thing. On the other, too many empty homes makes a theme feel less inviting. While some residents love the idea of living an area surrounded by empty homes, I think most prefer that the neighboring structures at least show signs of life, even if the décor isn't always up to par.

You are going to need Penitence1, Penitence2...Penitence37.

Spite is not a reason to implement anything. Count me in the "no pods in Bellisseria" group. As others have said, there are plenty of places to rez your own mode of transport, there are several options from the moles, and many residents have rezzers that are accessible to the public. As an aside, doesn't anyone walk or fly anymore?

Are the Ranch Homes hard to Decorate?
Matthieu Quander replied to Teresa Firelight's topic in Linden Homes
Which part is the dream, the finishing the coast or fringing it with stilts? I suppose if the former doesn't happen, the latter becomes moot. -
