  1. That was a combination of the eye position adjuster thingie and one of the static animations, both from the animations tab of the Lelutka hud I think the static expression was on the top row of the first "page" of them, actually? But don't hold me to that; I was clicking All the Things because this picture was actually taken as half of a comparison set between my standard avatar heads (Kris currently for Forge, Avalon for Ajay) and the Noel/ Noelle gifts from Logo. If I had used the Logo head for Forge's side and Avalon for mine, it may have been the best image I've managed to get in SL, at least expression-wise. And thank you
  2. Brother dear was having a moment (seriously, I'm pretty much an armrest to most of my friends, and my avatar is just shy of 6' tall; apparently I hang out with Goliath or something)
  3. And now for something completely different... The avatar used is still Ajay, but this particular look is the buildout of a character I play in a tabletop RPG with some friends from SL. We'll sometimes meet inworld and take group shots or whatever, which is cool for immersion (and also highly entertaining). She has book issues The head used for this is Sasha rather than my usual Avalon, the skin is from Simple Bloom rather than DeeTaleZ, and almost all her coloration is the polar opposite of Ajay, other than the "OMG HAVE YOU NOT HEARD SUNLIGHT EXISTS?" shade of skin. To be honest, it's a bit jarring seeing her without the usual Rapunzel-esque hair (not to mention all the other changes!) but I'm really having fun playing around with her in terms of "Now, would she *really* wear this???" etc.
  4. Ehhh... like a few others, I'd be cool with more realism in the environment (although I draw the line at dust on my furniture, because limits). And moving hair/ clothing would be nice. But I don't need more realism in my skin texture, I don't think. There was a skin I really liked otherwise that I ended up putting in my Nope pile due to the same issue as the skin Rowan was showing upthread. I fought that texture through my teens. Why would I voluntarily invoke it inworld? I passed the age of frequent clogged pores and I don't need it back, even though my avatar looks 20 on a bad day I also like that Ajay's just a shade more cartoony than looking totally realistic. SL can be really immersive, and it's good to have a visual reminder that SL and RL are two very different environments. YMMV, of course
  5. +Father+ has (or had) an item on Marketplace called Stupid Physics. They are hilariously awful
  6. There are three sets of physics in your Legacy body folders: If you want the butt physics activated you need to be wearing either the top or the bottom of those; I'm currently wearing the bottom set (highlighted) which includes both top and bottom physics. As Janet and Rowan above both mentioned, physics do tend to have a slightly more subtle look, but if you're wearing hair that's rigged to the butt, you can check and see if they're working, like in this GIF clip: If I'm wearing hairs from some creators, I have to wear the top-only physics... as with this hair, for instance. Also, because apparently my sense of humor stopped developing when I was twelve, I am now running that clip over and over and over and over...
  7. Those physics are enabled on both bodies you mentioned. Check to see which set of physics you're wearing; when I get home I can give the exact name, but I'm at the office right now. Or if you want to post a screenshot of your Now Wearing tab (Avatar > Now wearing) I can tell you from here. Are you able to view other physics? Just making sure your ability to see those isn't turned off.
  8. It may depend on what Legacy body you have. I use the pay version of the Legacy body and the included Legacy physics, and believe me that butt bounces. One of the major selling points for Legacy was that physics were enabled in that area. Make sure you're wearing the appropriate set of physics. The body comes with three, one which activates the breasts, one which activates the backside, and one which activates both. You may be wearing the one that's breasts only.
  9. There are nose deformers that will do this. I think Zora has a more Roman nose; not sure if any of the Native EvoX heads do (Avalon and forward).
  10. Thanks Her mouth is beautiful. My caveats are the chin is more round and I like Avalon's more pointed chin, plus the nose is SO VERY STRAIGHT DID YOU SEE HOW STRAIGHT IT IS BECAUSE STRAIGHT. Like angular. Like, you could cut things with either side of her nose's bridge. It's not the skin or added shading layers either -- here's Avalon in the exact same setup: It's not bad, but it's so strong I end up giving it a bit of side-eye. That said, I'm more accustomed to Avalon's softer nose, so it's not a con for Noel in general, just a characteristic.
  11. Noel is just lovely. I'll stick with my Avalon because I adore her, but if Avalon didn't exist, I'd be all over this. I'm still futzing with Kris for my m'alt. It's a nice head, but I think I need to ship him off to grab some of the freebie skins
  12. I'm just annoyed I can remember them all, but not where I put my car keys.
  13. Lily was the gift in 2020, then Kaya in 2021, and Raven in 2022. Avalon has never been free, but it was the first native-EvoX head released, so tons of people leapt on it.
  14. Looking at the list of what she's wearing, she's got on the regular BOM skin, but is also wearing the 4K hairbase, neck blend (as Rowan said above), and blush. Have her remove all of the universal layers (the ones with the three red squares as the symbol, not the squigglies) and see if that improves matters. If she wants to wear the hairbase and the blush, she needs to use the regular BOM versions (with the squigglies) so the mapping will match the face skin she's wearing.
  15. From the Firestorm Website: Looks like there is hope for 32-bit viewer users, but with the "most likely" caveat, so we shall see. Hopefully it won't be blocked; I understand tech having to advance, but I'd hate for anyone to be essentially priced out of SL due to hardware they're not able to upgrade at this time.
  16. Naturally, after I finalized the picture and started sending it out, I found at least two things I should have caught LOL -- oh well
  17. Neve's Fameshed release (Student dress, Graduate jacket) is not rigged for LaraX, but since thankfully Neve's clothing is mod I was able to strip the v4 autohide and put in the v5. There was a tiny bit of clipping toward the top of the back at the shoulder blades that couldn't be resolved with alpha cuts, but I made an alpha layer that took care of that issue. No alpha: With alpha: There is still a tiny bit of clipping on the neckline, but I wear long hair which covers that area most of the time so it's not an issue for me. Wearing the jacket hides the clipping. And since I'm one of those body flip-floppers, I can always switch to my Legacy body and use that rig if I'm annoyed enough by the neck issue.
  18. No, I appreciate it! This is going to have something of a learning curve for many of us, I think. And yeah, the HDR thingie may have been what did this initially; I was using a total darkness EEP I'd bought at some point, and haze density is set to zero on it.
  19. Okay, not awesome resolution here, but it gets the point across. TL:DR (or didn't watch) -- it's the haze density setting. Moving the haze density slider to zero results in the mostly black hair thingie. If anyone with actual technical expertise wants to explain why this is a thing, that's awesome; if I don't know why the haze impacts it like this, it could circle around to bite me again in some way. But I have a practical solution for now, at least.
  20. I am playing with various environmental sliders in the SL viewer to see what caused this effect. I think this is something to do with environment that's impacted by PBR, but please don't hold me to that. I majored in English. This is not my area of any sort of expertise. The non-PBR viewer had materials enabled. I'm going to keep poking at this.
  21. From Firestorm, with heavy post-processing (I like mucking about with desaturating/ saturating stuff at the moment).
  22. Regarding the latest SL viewer, I'm having an... is it an aesthetics problem? A photography problem? Although it happens regardless of whether or not I'm taking a picture. To the point, my avatar's hair is a very light color, and when I turn off all SL lighting and use a lighting prim instead, my hair goes dark in the PBR viewer. It's like how lights affected it in the older system, but worse, and angle doesn't appear to change it. Is there a workaround? I'm just wondering if this is the new normal or if there's a fix in the works, or a way to work with the lighting of which I'm not yet aware. Non-PBR Viewer (Firestorm Viewer 6.6.16.70339): PBR Viewer (Second Life Viewer 7.0.1.6894459864😞 These are taken in the same place, same lighting (no light), same lighting source (light prim), same light intensity/ radius/ falloff/ color. I like the detail in the PBR photo along with the fact that I'd not have to edit the brightness in post-processing, but the haircolor is a full-stop. I'm aware we're all moving to PBR, so I was wondering if there's going to be some sort of fix or workaround for this, because lighter hair in SL is hardly uncommon. If I should have posted elsewhere, please let me know. Thank you.
  23. This is the original picture: And here's the AI variant: I am not at all good at this lol -- it's entertaining to see what the AI decided to do with my original jewelry. And I think they took my crow's wing and made it into hair? It's cool, though
  24. Yeah, I think the only body you can't descript is Legacy, which is a shame because its script count is insane. Doesn't stop me from wearing it (OMG LaraX please come out asap!), but it does make me twitch a bit.
  25. Yeah, I'm aware; I worded it poorly That'll teach me to post before drinking my coffee.
