Exactly this @Bagnu (Pearl), just because someone seems to be backing you at one point in time, doesn't mean they're a nice person, so be careful who you allow to get close to you. You just never know - a time may come when that behaviour gets directed to you. I've trusted the wrong people before and got burnt for it.

I think those timed demos are usually free from the distracting demo print/signs so you get to see what the item actually looks like. This can be an advantage because those demo signs can really prevent you from getting a full view of the product. I imagine the time limit is to prevent people from using the demos to, say, take pictures etc. For those short demos, I just take a second copy in case I need more time.

ChinRey's right. I have never done the same with cancelling premium before, but I did accidentally abandon land and when I submitted a support ticket, they gave it right back to me by selling it to me for L$0. I wouldn't wait on it though. Any issues, just open a new support ticket.

Maybe you could try commenting on that support ticket to explain an error has been made and see if it is reversible.

There are so many possible reasons for not utilizing the ignore option. Sure, your group theory could be one of them. I never use ignore because I feel that would be limiting. I wouldn't get the whole picture of conversations, and also because I think everyone has something valuable to say even if I may not get along with them. I've observed that people here don't clash with each other 100% of the times. The % where they don't clash is probably the reason for not using the block.

Yeh that's true and definitely possible to tweak certain aspects or maybe even change drastically. And people change through time anyway. My personal experience with the whole introversion vs extroversion is that every year I make a resolution to be more extroverted to help with work and I do get better with it, but I tend to slip back to my natural state eventually. I can be better with it but at 84% introversion I don't think I'd ever switch to the other side.

Oh right, I see where you were going with that now. There is definitely power in numbers, which doesn't always lead to favourable outcomes. But assigning too much power to any given individual can also be problematic. Ultimately humans are flawed, whether it's group or individual. There are situations where an individual oppresses a group, and also situations when it's the other way around where a larger group oppresses individuals.

If there is a section in the forum for fruits, then the pineapple talk would be better there rather than in the poultry section. And if the mentions border on advertising and is against TOS that's also worth considering. Reminders of the abovementioned to the pineaple enthusiast, IMO should be expressed civilly. But the reminding itself isn't uncivil.

This is a general statement, not directed at anybody. Civility is very subjective. And the fact is, we're all hyprocrites. When we think someone's being uncivil to us, we're often focussed on the other person and rarely looking back at ourselves to see what we could have done better. When we say something and someone gets upset, oh well they're being too sensitive and shouldn't have been offended. But when they say something and we get upset, it's a different story. They're so uncivil. It needs to go both ways. We have so many different personalities and cultures coming together. Yeh we talk based on who we are and what we know, but the other part is learning about others and learning how to get along with people even if they might not be like us or think the way we do.

Hey I've got a question for those who own multiple heads. When you buy makeup, eyes, lashes etc. How do you decide which head to buy for? Do you get it for all or for the one you're currently using?

Ohh in that case I think there's little difference. What's evil in rl is still evil in sl. Just that in sl, there are less ramifications when one acts on their evil impulses. And maybe certain evil or immoral things are not as condemned in sl 'cause they're not considered to be real in sl. And whether something is considered real or not has an impact on what we think can destroy us. Some believe things on sl aren't real so they then think that whatever happens on sl shouldn't be taken too seriously. But then you have others who believe that it's just as real so you can actually be just as hurt (or "destroyed") in sl because there is a real person behind every avatar. Your posts are interesting. I think the "knock it off" was just referring to keeping sexual stuff (like that little part in your OP) out of the General section of the forums that's all.

I think any perceived differences in behaviour are due to lower inhibitions in sl so people may let themselves go a bit more. Vanity in sl is interesting 'cause your avatar's not really you, so I wonder if you're really being vain by doing up your avi. Maybe in a way, but not completely? And in rl, whether it is negative or not depends on context. Like on insta it's seen as totally ok.
