  1. That's the one I was looking for but didn't have the time to keep looking.
  2. That's a particular "branch" of Southern Baptist, not your average run of the mill Southern Baptist. I had the misfortune to grow up around Southern Baptist/Baptist. My great-grandparents were Calvary Baptist. When I was very young I used to go to church with them just so I could be with them. They never tried to force me to believe or anything, They were just happy to be able to spend time with me. http://www.calvarybaptistassociation.com/beliefs https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/calvary-baptist-pastor-why-we-severed-ties-with-the-southern-baptist-convention/2012/07/26/gJQAy11xBX_story.html http://calvarydc.org/ Getting back to the speaking in tongues thing, my best friend from high school was Catholic turned Pentecost. She did the speaking in tongues thing and it was obviously faked. She admitted it later on when she finally got shut of the abusive guy she was married to and left the Pentecost church.
  3. That's more of a Pentecostal thing. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentecostalism#:~:text=A Pentecostal believer in a,an endless variety of languages.
  4. Vincent Don McLean Starry, starry night Paint your palette blue and grey Look out on a summer's day With eyes that know the darkness in my soul Shadows on the hills Sketch the trees and the daffodils Catch the breeze and the winter chills In colors on the snowy linen land Now I understand What you tried to say to me And how you suffered for your sanity And how you tried to set them free They would not listen, they did not know how Perhaps they'll listen now Starry, starry night Flaming flowers that brightly blaze Swirling clouds in violet haze Reflect in Vincent's eyes of china blue Colors changing hue Morning fields of amber grain Weathered faces lined in pain Are soothed beneath the artist's loving hand Now I understand What you tried to say to me And how you suffered for your sanity And how you tried to set them free They would not listen, they did not know how Perhaps they'll listen now For they could not love you But still your love was true And when no hope was left in sight On that starry, starry night You took your life, as lovers often do But I could have told you, Vincent This world was never meant for one As beautiful as you Starry, starry night Portraits hung in empty halls Frameless heads on nameless walls With eyes that watch the world and can't forget Like the strangers that you've met The ragged men in the ragged clothes The silver thorn, a bloody rose Lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow Now I think I know What you tried to say to me And how you suffered for your sanity And how you tried to set them free They would not listen, they're not listening still Perhaps they never will
  5. IBTL on the religious discussions! Just in case I don't get to the end before LL ends their 4 day weekend tomorrow.
  6. And people end up feeling abashed once we log back in because it was just a practical joke/harmless prank after all which can develop over time into resentment if the people have been the "butt of a joke" once too often. Resentment in those who aren't quite balanced is not a good thing. We've seen many examples of that lately right here on this forum.
  7. Define "inappropriate behavior". Is your definition the same as everyone else's? If not, what are the differences? I get what you are saying but other people react according to their definition of inappropriate , not yours. They can't possibly know your definition without you telling them so you end up coming off as overly judgmental and trying to shove your beliefs down their throats. While it might weed out the ones you won't get along with, it also weeds out many of the ones you would get along with so you're doing yourself a disfavor. Double edged sword.
  8. Thank you. That's what I was trying to get you to see. Apology accepted.
  9. Yes, I probably should let it go but, no. If the macho stuff is in reference to me I have news for her. I'm not male.
  10. What part of "I did NOT make that post" did you not understand? THIS was my post. Where do you even see the word hello in there? or the phrase "high volume groups"? YOU DON'T. Now do you get me?
  11. lol Did you forget that the internet is forever? There's the Wayback Machine and a few other archives. 😉
  12. That kind of goes without saying. 😉
  13. What the heck is wrong with people? I haven't "ganged up" on anyone. When it became obvious she would never understand what I was saying I moved on because I didn't want to get caught in that trap. I'm not going down the being accused of racism. anti-Semitism and all the other that goes with all that. She didn't need to message me to try to stir the pot. Yes, I've heard all the indigenous stories about that. No, I don't buy it. Yes, I am indigenous. I do mostly agree with your last statement.
  14. The quote showed me but I never typed those words. That isn't my post.
  15. Must be time to drop using logos for instant brand recognition on my part since everyone keeps changing them. That's one way to lose me as a customer. If I can't recognize a certain brand at a glance because it's been changed (and I usually am not aware) I will look for something else and buy that instead.
  16. You'll be going down that rabbit hole all by yourself. I know what you are trying to pull. You are not the first to try to rope me into that particular "conversation". I'm not getting banned because you want to twist my words. No. Not now. Not ever. People like you are why I won't have anything to do with any religion.
  17. I never said anything funny. I never said anything about any paintings either. I said "living person".
