  1. those floral dressers where not at all what I would have expected from Thor!
  2. I could drop a name or two that gets readily accepted at A-list events, who has been known to use a full perm mesh now and then.
  3. FYI...there have been some Newbrooke regions released in the last few days as well. I got a few parcels that had green boxes around them. When I went in to try one more time for something with water, I saw that both stilts on land and stilts on water were available, which clued me in that some regions may have been released. So, I changed course. The newer Newbrooke regions feature more rolling terrain, which actually helps with not aligning your windows with neighbors' windows.
  4. Yes, I can confirm that they are releasing; I just got one of the highly-sought-after stilts on land that are partially on the water. And the houses around me are all named "Linden Homes" - and there's no items in area search that aren't put there by Moles. I will enjoy the lack of lag while it lasts...
  5. Definitely on my list of reasons whyI'm not choosing to buy it. And while it certainly makes sense to not get into it all here, I think there are potentially insightful prospective discussions regarding different avatar types, why we choose what we do to represent ourselves, and what those choices communicate to other people!
  6. This cute wrap top from ISON is featured at the just open C88. The hair, from WingsDG is also from the event. the wrap top is available in several color packages, including one with just prints.
  7. This is why I thought the Since 1975 Kitchen might be from a full-perm mesh...here's the one from Since 1975 Here's one from Ashes to Ashes (https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Chic-Modern-Kitchen-Set-Stool-Table-Animated-Decorated-Mesh/21197165) \\ And...here's one from GT - Creative Design (https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/GT-Modern-Kitchen/22787831)
  8. You do know they have a second body skin (at least for female Avis) that doesn't have the shine? It's called Venus. It's even available in a few additional tones. I like only having to buy one set of body skins, personally. Velour has been widely adapted so I don't need to get every single brand's body skin. Over time, prior to Velour's release, I had purchased body skins over 20 other brands, many of them only with one shade. That cost can really add up over time. And the Velour neck fade BOM has worked wonderfully. I've even used some shades of the neck fade with other body skins.
  9. Supporting the EvoX netfit is good. I wonder if they have Velour on board to release body skins? That would be a deal-breaker for me if they didn't. I've pretty much switched to only buying skins that match the Velour tones.
  10. I recognize that full-perm mesh. But...I think they did a decent job texturing.
  11. I'm a little surprised that people think Maitreya is only for skinny bodies as well. Most of my body styles have been (realistically) curvy.
  12. I hear you. Except I need to get rid of like 20,000 items! As far as adapting a new body, I'm taking a wait and see attitude. Unless I get one free. 😀
  13. I really like this parcel in Long Pass (that's a pretty large pond to the left) but there is a continually playing media issue that I can't resolve (I've derendered and blocked anything nearby that would be streaming, and my own parcel settings don't have any media). So I'm sending it back...if you don't mind turning off media, it's a nice parcel.
  14. These hanging window room dividers are a great way to break up larger spaces such as in the 1024 Newbrookes and the open-plan Chalets and Fantasy homes. They're $L99, and at the Spoonful of Sugar Festival, 50% of the proceeds go to Doctors Without Borders.
  15. Beachy-themed dining set from Aphrodite, $L75 this weekend @ The Sales Room
  16. I used an add-on wall from the marketplace to turn the open space between the two bedrooms into a bathroom. On one side of the door is the shower and sink. On the other side is the toilet and bathtub.
  17. Another view of the back bedroom: The front bedroom:
  18. And the rest of the larger room is the living room area. The master bedroom is in the back.
  19. Next, the main area of the interior. I've stuffed the kitchen into the smaller area on the right multiple times, and wanted to go instead with a more open floorpan. Fortunately D-Labs Concrete Kitchen Counter works well with that concept.. So, where I would typically put the kitchen, I put the dining room instead.
  20. For this build, I worked with a Newbrooke Bradbury, which has ended being, I think, my favorite of the Newbrooke models. I'd got enough space to do all the typical realistic rooms, and fill it up nicely within the LI allowance. This is a nice parcel, no water that outputs to the sea, but at least a mini-river and a pond. Front Exterior: In the back, I wanted to leave things open because of all the water, even though I can see into other folks' houses. Typically I would use fences but that would block the water view.
  21. Ever since I switched to using Velour tones almost exclusively I have had no problems with this issue. In the fairly infrequent cases where there is a bit of a mismatch between the head and body skins, Velour’s neck fade layer takes care of it.
  22. Yeah, I was kind of at a loss to come up with a brand that is totally like Coco. I thought about Fashionably Dead, Amias and Just Because...with Amias possibly being the closest. But I'm not sure they do Reborn either. And none of those brands are IMO as sophisticated as Coco tends to be.
