  1. Some Asian items from this weekend: Percent, from Blanc event. Cabinet and credenza, four designs available for each item, $L200 each Very low LI (7) Japanese platform bed from Newchurch for SL Home Decor Weekend. Tea House and decor collection for Happy Weekend from Merak Jane and Finch is supposed to have an Asian style Tea Set available for home decor weekend, haven't found it yet, they appear to be moving into a new location.
  2. I've been getting good performance with a MacBook Air M1, so I would think the ultra pro would be really good, if. you have good internet access.
  3. Well alrighty. I have also noticed more resident activity in this parcel than the average one. Perhaps that is contributing to the slowdown.
  4. @Abnor Mole, if you are still hanging out...a question. I've got a great parcel that is at the intersection of a canal and a river. It seems to be VERY laggy, though. Is there something in the water? Seriously, though, I'm thinking that both waterways are animated...are they both scripted?
  5. Glad to see the stores jumping on the Sakura bandwagon!
  6. I think this article is a pretty good resource for what is distinctive about modern Japanese Interior Design: https://www.tripzilla.com/modern-japanese-interior-design/126974 I'll add a couple of things just based on my albeit limited research: Think of a cross between minimalist and Scandinavian Light wood More white, tan and light grey than black Most items I've seen in my research avoid mid-century style influence Most items I've seen avoid a "heavy" look in terms of the furniture weight (IE, legs on coffee tables and chairs, etc.) Also, most items avoided harsh angles Circle-shaped shelves and cutouts in wall units Along with the low dining tables, you'll see low coffee tables, low beds, low sofas, even low desks. Some ideas (links to Marketplace for convenience, but most items available in-world. Also, links to PG but there are adult versions available for most items) Kitchen: Atelier Burgundy . Modular Kitchen Cedar Bazar Arizona Kitchen Living Room Kraftwork Milan Modular Sofa Fancy Decor Madsen Sectional Sofa Fourth Wall Love Living Set - Light
  7. I am wondering...why are the old homes still on the land selection page?
  8. Evolving Images - medium size furnishings store. A lot of it seems more Chinese than Japanese. Textures could stand to be upgraded/updated on a lot of these items. A light wood mesh kitchen in a u-shape that would work well in Asian houses, I think, for $L190. Not the best detail/texturing (especially the stove/oven). Refrigerator is priced seperately. One of the nicer things I saw was a couple of Crane figurines, textured to look like Pewter, at $L49each. RH Design House - general home furnishings store. Some pretty floor cushions (Zabuton) for $L150 for 3 to 4 designs, so if you don't like what came with your Japanese Dining set, see what they've got here. Monkey Boy (across the street from RH Design House) - Food, builds and decor. Not just Japanese, but other Asian items as well Animated Sky Lanterns for $L150 - that's the first time in a while I've seen them available.
  9. Wow, thanks for the extensive list! I'll have some fun going through these locations. I think your link for Taikou may be the old one 🙂. Here's what I've discovered so far: Marushin - a lot of novelty items on the first floor, more home and garden items in the basement. Didn't pick up anything, but notably they have the first "small" hot spring I've seen (they call it a "Rock Pool"). It's $L600 so I didn't buy it yet, only 9 to 10 LI. Soul Mates - small to mid size store with decent selection of mostly traditional-style Japanese and Asian home furnishings. *Naminoke* - @Rufferta said beware the teleport and I agree. This is a store with like 30+ little rooms and a teleport that Sailor Moon would love. Didn't find anything to purchase but saw some nice plants. Maru Kado - if you don't see the home furnishings section at first, look around, it's kind of around a corner from the landing point. Be on the lookout for the $L0 plain Tatami rugs with color edging. Some cute plants. Kiyomizu Shopping Mall - Mostly clothing and accessories. At Chau I found some bright floral Tatami style rugs for $L20. Kumagami - focus on novelty and business decor/items. *SU-SHI* City - not a lot of items but some really cute ones, umbrellas, lights, rolled fabrics, etc And just about everything is $L10. Next door is Make a Mark that you may be familiar with from events - they have mostly builds.
  10. Just stay glued to the TV for a few days! Believe me, it's really laggy here right now.
  11. Hang in there @Nika Talaj... if I can get a good parcel, so can you! And if it's any consolation, there are a ton of people in this pretty region right now, all trying to go through house choices and rez furniture. My frame rate has dropped to between 5 to 10 fps!
  12. Well, after all this time I finally hit the jackpot. One of the best parcels I've ever gotten (the stilts that were at water's edge are likely the best but I like these houses better).Canal on the left side and river in front of the house.
  13. I'm trying to pull together a list of Asian-themed home & garden stores (main requirements are that they at least have some fairly recent creations that are mesh and I wouldn't be ashamed to have their products in my Linden Home). Note that this a list of stores that focus on Asian-style furnishings not stores that have some Asian decor as part of their diverse collections. So far: Soy: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Soy/115/204/2497 Taikou http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Taikou/130/142/47 (this is their newer SLURL - they are no longer in the urban setting which is where SL search will take you) Tsunami (aka TC): http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Southern Marvel/85/208/24 (mostly outdoor, they have a lot of ponds/pools/fountains Please let us all know if you have others to add to the list!
  14. Shoulda stayed with my first roll - it was on one of the canals. I wanted river. My next four were landlocked, and two of them were the same parcel. On the other hand, I am loving the Kuchinashi. It's like an oversized Winchester that actually has a room for a bathroom upstairs, and a big room plus a medium size room downstairs.
  15. An excellent opportunity to buy the Consignment/Dust Bunny Kitchens at half price - the one-cabinet-color versions are $L700 for the Rosemary and $L600 for the Shirley (after rebate of half the cost) At the other end of the affordable spectrum is the new North Oak Kitchen at Kustom9. By the tie you add in the upper cabinets and refrigerator, you're looking around $L1700 for either the light or dark wood version (in all fairness that does include multiple drawer pull styles and several tones of wood each).
  16. Equal 10 has a Japanese Low Table set and lighted screens for sale at Equal 10. The screens are $L99 and the dining set is $L150. Forgive the lack of photos due to Equal 10 being one of the laggiest events out there (can't they get rid of those stupid neon cars running around under the clear floor?)
  17. One thing I'm going to be searching out is more light wood paneling, whether textures or mesh pieces.
  18. Oh, yeah, can't forget Kawaii! Although, I personally wouldn't choose to decorate that way, I'm sure we'll see some creative examples!
  19. This is the last one for a while, I promise 😀
  20. For those of you contemplating a move to Sakura...I recently searched for examples of modern Japanese interior design. It has a lot in common with other minimalist style, so if you've been collecting that kind of furniture (possibly for Newbrooke) you'll have a good head start. Some stores that carry pieces that will fit in are Black Nest, Fourth Wall, Architect and Fancy Decor.
